  1. Is Walker learning the game? Maybe he can look at a VHS explaining how to play.
  2. This is a very unimpressive team taking your lunch money and barking at you while you look at your shoe laces.
  3. Inexcusable. And that is an understatement.
  4. Unfortunately Trey has gotten the yips. That can be very hard to get rid of.
  5. The Rutgers guy took two hands and tossed him to the ground and got away with it. Vigilante justice worked for him.
  6. Flagrant. Hostile act. Not a basketball play.
  7. I like this lineup. I hope they get some run and let’s see what happens.
  8. Even Walker threw up a God awful three that really killed our momentum.

  10. Tony is the best. Appreciate his work a lot.
  11. I could be wrong. But I felt like Woody really felt like he needed Malik to go to work in the post in our half court offense. He beyond emphasized it and wanted it. I think that’s why Ware was out. He wanted to give Malik room to function. And he swept from wide toward the basket and he just used a lot of space to get himself into position. I think more than anything that’s why Ware was out. Yes we got pounded on the boards and I don’t excuse that. But if Ware plays more, that gap narrows. I think it’s how Woody felt he could win the game.
  12. You know I trust you. You have as good of a feel as anyone on how teams matchup because you understand other teams’ personnel. What you say makes sense.
  13. I won’t comment on Banks but CJ Gunn can be mesmerizing at 6’6 (at least; compared to the height of some other guys he might even be 6’7), those long arms, agility, lateral ability. Strong performances against Michigan on the road and now Ohio State. I am a flow guy. When you catch the ball in rhythm and the flow of the game, you’re more apt to make it. We see that when Gunn does well. Other times, he forces something up outside the flow and rhythm. Everybody has played with guys who just jack it up with zero feel for the rhythm of the play, context of the game, value of the possession, etc. Woody is talking to him about it, based on even Gunn’s comments, and the way he was yanked immediately after launching an ill-advised long two at Lincoln. Anyway, when Gunn gets a sweat going, lets the game come to him, and avoids the “look what I found, I am putting up an 18 footer” he can be a huge asset. His length, agility, long arms, and activeness is a pretty powerful combo and not something you can just find anywhere. He also shoots better when he calms down and lets the game come to him instead of launching shots in a jittery way like a nervous tick. There is zero reason why he can’t string together some consistent performances. I think he can do it with a consistent approach. OSU should open his eyes on what is possible if he approaches the game right. Same thing as Michigan. He’s done it against high level comp even on the road.
  14. I like the guy but I wouldn’t take him in the first especially in view of his spindly legs. The two biggest things I look for in college projection is ability to handle pressure and accuracy. He gets into retreat mode, back foot. Not taking a shot at him because I like him and wish him the best.
  15. Would have been more fun to watch Michigan vs Georgia. This has been tedious. Michigan just too dominant. Just like Oregon, Wash isn’t at the level of the big teams east of the Mississippi. You can see the obvious difference in quality.
  16. Washington looks like a B1G West team.
  17. I like black too. Regarding the Sun Belt stuff, I don’t buy the argument we will have a Sun Belt roster. We cherry picked better players, who have been productive, and we are adding them to a vast majority B1G roster. Lot of players are productive in lower levels and then perform really well at higher levels. Heck there are pro players who came from lower levels than the Sun Belt. Not only thought, CCC got guys who he is highly familiar with on and off the field and who will help get his system in place. I would have been angry if he didn’t do all this.
  18. Should have said Washington paid for Griffin. A trade would definitely allow for really stacking the roster all over. Getsy just overthinks things and gets too cute but most importantly I really don’t see an offense designed around the strengths of the QB. That to me is the fundamental problem. Look at Steichen and how he designed his offense both in Philly and Indy. A mind like that could do wonders for Fields. Personally I think he could get that elsewhere. Defensively, what’s tougher than dealing with a QB who is physical but can also sling it a la Josh Allen. We’ve all watched defenses where you’re terrified of that guy.
  19. 100%. Would have loved to get three first rounders like Washington got for Griffin but that’s trumped by getting a potential star QB IMO. Most important position in sports.
  20. Also with the Bears’ second number one they can still get a major talent at receiver. It’s tough to turn down MHJ but there’s other guys, to wit: 2. WR MALIK NABERS, LSU BIG BOARD RANK: 5 Turn on the tape, and it won't take long to realize Nabers moves differently than his peers. His body control and route-running potential are already good enough to stand out in the pros. He's a future focal point of an NFL passing attack. Click here to see PFF's full top 275 big board 3. WR ROME ODUNZE, WASHINGTON BIG BOARD RANK: 10 Odunze brings top-tier size, speed and strength to the receiver position. He has consistently dominated at the catch point this season and can reportedly run 4.3-4.4 at around 215 pounds.
  21. Just speaking for myself it would have been great if Fields thrived because my Lordy the Bears could have surrounded him with several premier talents with the trades from last year and, potentially, this year. And I also think he’s very tough to deal with if you get him in the right system. I don’t think Getsy and Eberfus deployed him right. The right coach acquiring him will have a plan and he can do better. I am also concerned about Williams’ data when under pressure (e.g., the asinine picks against ND). But ultimately, I think Williams is a more legit passer and has some magic to his game with improvisational skills and arm talent. Fields’ record, stats, and skill sets don’t provide the ammo to pass on a first pick in the draft QB. If you hit on Williams, you get 10-15 years and that sets you up to acquire talent at more predictable positions which are easier to execute on. That’s my thinking. Bears can be a sleeping giant waking up. They probably can’t go wrong.
  22. He’d be a mess in that offense. It’s a timing offense from what I’ve seen. Fields can have a short shelf life banging around for some team that can’t get their hands around a top pick.
  23. The data is in on Fields. It’s a pity because the Bears could have stacked a lot of talent around him with the draft. I was curious what the Bears record against the Packers was since Favre got there. 15-50. 31 years. I wonder what kind of historical precedent there is for that in pro sports. Ten in a row under LaFleur. But, it might sound crazy to the naysayers, but the Bears are sitting in a great spot to surge for a good decade. Lot of ammo even without trading away the first pick. They can be really tough if they play it all right and it’s almost hard to screw up.
  24. I wish him well. We are moving on. If I am betting, CCC saw the film and we didn’t pursue very hard if at all (never heard we tried like we did with McCulley and Smith and it’s obvious why if you saw him play). I am sure we would take him for kickoff returns but if you saw the film he is hardly what CCC is describing in what he wants despite the chance for some electric plays. CCC’s press conferences were screaming on this. Best of luck to him.
