That's 16 games where they combined for single digit points. Only 3 games where they combined for 20 or more. For 2 starters, that is far from impressive.

Fortunately, Stewart has moved on. Kopp should see a reduction in minutes unless he can increase his production.

Somehow "Kopp should see a reduction in minutes unless he can increase his production" brings to mind "the beatings will continue until morale improves!"  I realize the fallacy of the analogy but it came to mind nonetheless.

I mentioned this before, but I think having 2 one dimensional scorers on the floor at the same time made us too easy to defend.

The recipe was stick close to Kopp and Stewart because they can't get around you, and sag on X and Race, using their defenders to double team Trayce as a lot of the more knowledgeable posters pointed out during the year.

Didn't work on X and Race late in the year because they picked up their outside shooting.

Stewart at times put in the effort on defense, but his physical limitations turned him into a fouling machine (tied with X at 2.6 per game in 170 less minutes total).

I'm sure JHS and/or Tamar can at least match the defensive part, but having a guy that can hit the mid range jumper (and at Montverde JHS displayed a solid mid range game) or get to the hole will help our offense.

Down the stretch in the last 9 games (5-4), Stewart was 6-29 (21%) from 3. In the Illinois and Michigan games in the BTT, he was 1-4. Surely one of the young guys can match that...

My mantra last year was that we should NEVER see Stewart and Kopp in at the same time or EVER see both Race and Trayce out at the same time.  But what do I know?

When it comes to Hoosier basketball I’m the eternal optimist, and can’t wait for the season to begin. I’m 69 and grew up with Knight and the great Hoosier teams of that era, and know what it’s like to have a team that expects to win every time they take the floor no matter who they’re playing. A team that not only wins, but dominates and overwhelms opponents. I’m getting the sense this year’s team could be that type of team, but I’ve been disappointed so many times over the past few years I’m trying to keep myself in check. Am I wrong?

Hope not. I’m 68 and in the same boat. 1976 was my Senior year at IU and I thought we were set up for National Championship runs every 3 - 4 years. The drought needs to end soon!

Does anyone know how this works? If I put in an application, do I have the chance to decline when I learn what seats are available to me? Or do they charge me when they find out, and I'm stuck with what I get? I'm interested in going, but don't want to be stuck in the rafters.

When in your account and in the process of requesting seats you have the option to specify price level. There is also a “Comments” field where you could indicate that if your price level can’t be filled you do not want lesser value seats.

I suppose that another possibility is to refuse lesser tickets once you are notified that your preference could not be filled.
    Just a couple thoughts.

Family I know told me their courtside (row 8 I believe) were fetching $2k+ for 2016 game vs Carolina. Can't imagine what this one will do.

I can vouch for that number but I didn't sell.  Took 3 of my good friends who are regular and collected $40 from each of them.

Was also offered $2,500 per for the Kentucky game in 2007 BY A SCALPER!  Same result though.  Didn't work my way up to those seats over years just to sell them.

I thought the same regarding a late tip for this one as soon as I saw it.  What a HUGE game for the program and Assembly Hall will be as electric as it has been in MANY years!  Will have to get to Bloomington very early to get into Nick's and that will contribute to a rowdy crowd at the game.  Beer sales in Assembly Hall too this year?  Whoa Nellie!

I booked a couple rooms at the Graduate for that night and I only live 45 minutes away in Columbus, IN.  Not sure I'll end up using the rooms but will feel better having the option.

Mods, please delete if I’m asking in the wrong place, but does anyone know when tickets for the IU Kansas game will go on sale? I’m trying to go with a friend of mine.

If KU is like IU there won’t be single game tickets available. All tickets will be sold as part of the season ticket package and I have to believe they sell out.

Your best bet will likely be to watch the secondary market.

  10. Having selected my football seats yesterday I noticed that my basketball season ticket renewal application is live in my account. The price per game for my football season tickets is $53 while the per game price for the upcoming basketball season is $54. I am wondering if any other B10 school has basketball tickets priced higher than football?
This is the first time by my recollection that IU basketball per game tickets cost more than football.
