Getting waxed on national TV is never fun, but I think anyone on this forum would take 1-1 in the 2 games we just had.

And if given the choice going in would have opted to win the Purdue game. Onward and let’s beat Penn State. Go Hoosiers!!!

When: Monday, January 17th 7 PM EST

Where: Pinnacle Bank Arena, Lincoln, Nebraska

    TV: BTN

Nebraska Record: 6-12 (0-7, 14th in Big Ten). The Huskers come in having lost 5 in a row, and 10 of 11.

    image.png.eda405ef2e8745b95c053353826506e9.png

Same cast of characters as they had when IU beat them in SSAH, but they are getting Trey McGowans (Bryce's brother) back after being out with a foot injury...Last year Trey averaged 11 ppg and 4 boards per...

Nebraska has some kids that can shoot it...Wilcher, Tominaga, and Webster are all over 36% from 3 for the year...Derrick Walker has been playing better in the post, and freshman Eduardo Andre has been coming on as a shot blocker...

Bryce McGowans is a 5 star recruit and has been the Big 10 freshman of the week a few times. He's their leading scorer...Alonzo Verge is their PG, and he's much better on the drive than he is shooting from outside...Both he and Bryce McGowans are at 25% from 3 for the year...

Nebraska is far more dangerous at home than they are on the road...gave both Ohio State and Illinois a run for their money when they visited Lincoln...

Very winnable game, but it'll be interesting to see how we come out and handle it...Having Trey McGowans back will give them some energy, but they always seem to lose focus and fade. They start putting up wild shots trying to make up the deficit quickly...

Good time for our first road victory of the year, although as I pointed out in the Big 10 thread, we haven't had much luck on the road with brother combos this year (Syracuse-Boeheims, Wisconsin-Davises, Iowa-Murrays)

I am pretty sure that tip is at 6 rather than 7.

My great friend ,my minister, waa the IU Men's basketball chaplain during the Davis years. If people knew half of the things that he did for players and people just in general the only negative thing anyone coukd say about Mike was he just was not the right fit. When Tom Rust says he is as good of a person he has met for me that speaks volumes

100% agree with your Tom Rust comment.

My son just texted me and it appears if you are going to the games tomorrow you might need to show proof of vaccination.

"Appears"  that you "might"........this is rather significant news at this late date if true.  Any way you can site your son's source for this info?

I'm just hoping that somebody is letting XJ know what he's in for. He can't get frustrated and give up those bad fouls. Our chances of winning greatly increase if he's able to play at least 30 minutes.

I'm betting that a part of UW's game plan will be to get into his head and go at him physically because we struggle offensively without him on the floor. Keep your cool X!

You nailed it - Davison will be focused on provoking X into stupid retaliation fouls. Surely Woody is preparing him for what is coming. Maybe Fife suited up in practice this week as the Davison scout player.

In my family there are more Purdue grads than IU.  One of those "Boilers" is my Dad.

My dad, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins - Boilers all.  My mom born and raised in Lafayette.

Was a Purdue fan myself growing up (how could I NOT be?) until my college decision was made.  Let's just say I am the "Red Sheep" of the family - someone had to break the cruel cycle!

Does giving even half a $#** at this point qualify as being a masochist? :coffee:

Yes but after doing this IU Football thing for 50 years why stop now. It’s not like I don’t know what to expect.
Kind of like my golf game - I keep playing all these years thinking I will surely get better. LOL!

I’ll be at the last 2 games with the other masochists and will be back again next year.

I did have the good sense though to cart my clubs to the attic a month ago.

Spot on. I'm 40. I don't remember the '87 team, and because I didn't grow up an Indiana fan I only barely remember the Cheaney teams. I know Bob Knight the bully, not the iconic basketball coach. Mike Davis was the coach when I arrived on campus. All my favorite memories of Indiana basketball, the reasons I'm a fan, are from after the Knight era.

I understand why having Knight in the building is a big deal for the Hysterics guys, and for other fans of a certain age. I doubt his presence moves the needle much at all for fans another generation even younger than myself. Whatever excitement I feel for the Mike Woodson era is based on what he is doing right now, and what he might accomplish in the coming seasons. It has nothing to do with Woodson's time as a player.

Indiana Basketball needs to be about more than just Bob Knight.

Long way to go for that to be true and I'm not dismissing the contributions of Branch McCracken - let's win a few more NCs and then talk about IU Basketball as a program rather than a coach or 2.

Did the 3 game mini series and got the worst seats I have ever had anywhere, for $48 a ticket.  All in the corner, above 42nd row, lol.  No break from face value at all despite the package label.  Much better seats for cheaper on the resale market.  Will never sign up for one of these again.  Fool me can't get fooled again!

Great place to watch for game tickets and/or to post your need.  Mini-series tickets will no doubt be showing up here.

Anyone going?  I was listening to Chronic Hoosier this morning and he said there's plenty of cheap tickets available.  The 6 pm start sucks.

I’ll be there as always - only 1 game that I have to miss this year that I know of.

As far as cheap tickets go, check out this ticket board…..

    https://247sports.com/college/indiana/board/ticket-exchange-bb-106112/

Posts pertaining to the first 2 basketball games (and any remaining football games) are pinned to the top. Activity is pretty brisk so new posts are popping up daily so check back from time to time.

Oh and, the ticket board is not a premium board so anyone can use it when looking for tickets or looking to sell tickets. Season ticket holders use it when they want to have their seats used by IU fans and don’t want to pay the ridiculous seller fees on StubHub.  Management here has been open to posts referencing the ticket board since there is not a similar board here.

    Go Hoosiers!!!

No doubt...not many things worse in life then being wet (or cold/wet)...perhaps only thing worse is watching this IU football team while cold and wet. I pray for them to show some life the rest of the way but I'm not counting on a single win.

I'm not giving up by any means.  If I wasn't the eternal optimist my butt wouldn't have been in seats for every game for nearly 40 years.  That said, I certainly understand and respect your perspective.  I am kept going by the annual fleeting feeling that "this is the year we turn the corner!"

It's akin to playing golf all these years and thinking I'll get better.  LOL!

Kind of OT. Has anyone heard when the IU posters are going to be sold to public? I know they sold at HH but haven't heard anything sense.

Somebody reported that they picked some up in the lobby of Assembly Hall before the OSU football game.  Sounds like they were just laid out there for folks to grab.

There was a date established for when they would be available via mail order but I'm too lazy to look for that.

I'm ashamed to admit...... with many back and forth decisions,  I finally caved and sold my 4 tickets w/ 2 parking passes to this game. I have no good reason or explanation. I'm disappointed with myself..... I'm hoping and praying I made a very poor decision.

I get it. I’m still going and using my season tickets. These are extra single game seats that I got when I had a bigger group attending. Illness forced them to back out so selling.
