  1. Biodi, John "Records" Landecker, Bob Sirrot, Larry Lujack, Tommy Edwards... And WNAPs Buster Bodine and Cris Connor... ah, the memories...
  2. Nice Mile! The Byrd's did an album after David Crosby left called "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" which is excellent, and deemed by many as the beginnings of Country Rock. And legend has it the Iron Butterfly lead singer, Doug Ingle, was trying to say "In the Garden of Eden" but was too toasted to pronounce it...
  3. Yes, yes, yes...lots of "not so well known" Stones tunes on "Exile on Main St" starting with " Rocks Off" " Casino Boogie" "Sweet Virginia" and "Ventilator." Great all the way through... My favorite Stones album is "Let it Bleed" but EOMS and "Beggars Banquet" ("Prodigal Son" and " Stray Cat Blues" are great unknown Stones songs) are both great LPs.
  4. @tdhoosier made an astute observation on the Movie Recommendation thread citing lack of a general Music thread, so I thought I'd start this... My musical taste was shaped in the 60s and 70s by 3 radio stations... WNAP and WFBQ in Indy, and WLS out of Chicago. I listened to mainly rock...Zeppelin, The Beatles, Stones et al, probably like many of you. Over the years I've come to appreciate other genres...country, classical, jazz...but my roots are in rock...still my favorite... About 3 years ago, I started a family subscription to Google Play Music streaming service...$15 a month for 6 family members. Stream as much as you want, when you want. So I started going down through The Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albs of All Time Found I had missed quite a bit of good music growing up... Got to like Bowie, particularly "Hunky Dory" and "Ziggy Stardust." Steve Earle's "Guitartown" is a great country/rock album. Gained a better appreciation of Bob Dylan, especially " Blonde on Blonde" and "Nashville Skyline." And discovered The Velvet Underground who were waaay before their time. So, HSN, whatcha got for me to listen to?
  5. I just heard Mel Kiper Jr say... "Who the hell is Desmond Howard anyways."
  6. LOL...Nope... I live in a rural area. It's funny what some of my neighbors upload alerts on...and the night vision is pretty good!
  7. We'll, I finished my April project yesterday...took me 6 hours. 5 hours and 45 minutes to charge the batteries, and 15 minutes to install and set up the app 😁 Seriously, hats off to all you DIYers. Some really nice work and some beautiful pics.
  8. Your Dad is a smart man!
  9. Let me know how that turns out...my favorite Oriental dish...never tried to make it, but when I went to my favorite place to get it, "The Rice Bar" near L'EnFant Plaza in DC, I like beef rib meat, black rice, assorted veggies, and Gochujang sauce...
  10. Got a hint from @rico and found out, much to my surprise, that it was "The Six Million Dollar Man" (apparently Farrah didn't think so!)... Lee Majors So here's a good one...who's the only player to win and NFL championship, an AFL championship, and a Super Bowl?
  11. Yes they were...Sid Gillman doesn't get enough credit for what the passing game has become in the NFL...
  12. Yeah, I was puzzled by that as well... But knowing how things work for we Bears' fans, I called Canton and told them to start working on a bust of Jordan Love...
  13. I'm glad you've had good luck with them... But the 2 years it took them to admit they had a quality control problem, and the run-around I got wasn't what I would call good business practices...and I guess I'm just a "once burned, lesson learned" kinda guy... I don't know if you've ever tried to get anything done under the 10 year/100,000 mile warranty, but unless that's changed drastically, it isn't worth the paper it's printed on... Just a word of advice...have every bit of maintenance done at a dealership and documented to save yourself some heartache if you ever do have issues...
  14. I'm putting up a Ring doorbell today...does that count? 😁 Honestly, I use to do handyman projects all the time, but old age just makes you lazy...
  15. Interesting article from the Journal of the American Medical Association 94% of the hospitalized had more than one disease other than COVID-19...
  16. I woke up to this BS this morning... $1,000 fine or 180 days in jail for not wearing a mask in public in Harris County starting Monday... I live in Montgomery county, but travel to Harris county frequently... We'll see...
  17. The reason I'll never buy a South Korean car again My youngest was driving a 2011 Sonata I bought home from work when the engine seized. This was in 2013. She was on the feeder for I-69 north when it happened about 100 yards from the main freeway entrance ramp. I still shudder when I think what might have happened if it had hung on for another mile... Took me 2 years to get them to replace the engine. Drove it right from the Hyundai service shop to a Toyota dealer and bought a Camry...never again...
  18. I was cleaning up stuff on my phone yesterday and found this video. The cat was a Russian Blue we'd rescued a turned into a damn good barn cat. Very laid back guy. He passed a couple of years ago. He had this thing for our mare. Slept in her stall right under the hay manger. Used to crack me up. She'd be eating and residual hay would be falling on him, but he never moved. The video just shows how strange and wonderful animals are... IMG_0892~2.mp4
  19. Who didn't already know the powder blue uniform of the Chargers were the coolest football uniforms ever? They're making a comeback and it's about time...
  20. Laughed when I read this... I have a water line that runs out the back of my garage, and the previous owner trenched a line all the way out to the barn (about 100 yards). A leak developed at the spigot a couple of weeks ago. The 3rd time I went to Home Depot, the old fella that mans the door said, "one more time and I'm gettin you an apron and a badge!"
  21. The only actor that I can think of that I know went to IU was Kevin Kline...but I don't know if he played football, or had even 1 TV show...
