  1. Pace said yesterday that Trubisky was the starter next year and that he had confidence in him... Don't know what to think at this point, but I'd say creating real competition for Mitch is a really good thing...one way or the other...
  2. For clarification, did they average 25 per over the course of the season? Or just in the finals?
  3. The list of top prep scorers since 1948 Good ol Phil Wills of Grass Creek is in there... Tony the Tiger led the nation in 1990 averaging over 40 per!
  4. That is true, but the 2 teams he's mainly known for are in the AL Central (beginning of his career) and NL West (end of career)... And he's still involved in MLB, but not as a manager or coach
  5. Nope, not Winfield, but good guess... Position player who had some height to him...
  6. That's correct. Jim Brown, who as much as I love Walter Payton, IS the greatest running back of all time, averaged 38 pts per in 1952. To me, he's the greatest athlete ever...I read where the first time he picked up a bowling ball, he bowled an over 200 game.
  7. No, neither of those, but the baseball player did play a year each for the teams the Reds defeated in the 75 and 76 World Series... Edit: that's a bad hint. He played a year for those 2 teams, just not during 75 and 76. And the football player is also widely acknowledged as the greatest Lacrosse player ever...
  8. Found a good one... What HOF NFL running back and what future MLB All Star led the nation in high school basketball scoring average during their respective prep careers?
  9. My Mom use to say of Boone, "he's so ugly, he's handsome."
  10. Love Della (Barbara Hale)...know who her real life son is? And Paul Drake was the 2nd coolest TV dude ever to Paladin...
  11. Perry Mason and Hawaii 5-O in the same post...I'm impressed!
  12. Where he's going, her competition would be tough...and different...😁
  13. Lol, ain't that the truth...our 2nd year down here in Texas there was a "threat" of snow...I drove into work about 6 am, and it hadn't snowed a flake...so I called my daughter who had an 8 am college class that morning and told her no worries..."They've already cancelled classes for the day, Dad."
  14. Al Oliver: "There's no such thing as bragging. You're either lying or telling the truth."
  15. The pilot requested and received a "Special VFR" clearance (not uncommon, especially for helicopters, but ATC cannot offer it. Must be requested by the pilot). The pilot never filed a flight plan, so he was intending to go Visual Flight Rules (VFR) weather permitting, even though he was Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) qualified. Visibility conditions at the airport were less than the 3 mile requirement for VFR ops, so he requested the Special VFR clearance (1 mile visibility required). At this point, I think he got a tad disoriented in the fog and over taxed the aircraft trying to get above the fog.
  16. Love Torchys...Trailer Park Hillbilly style is the go to...
  17. The greatest floor leader in IU history...I should be banned...
  18. So ashamed I'll let someone else go... Heap the derision on me...
  19. And I'm ashamed about the one I missed...
  20. Off the top of my head, Jerry Lucas and Magic...
  21. One was, in my estimation, the greatest player of all time... Wilt Chamberlain...
