  1. Threw out as in said it was wrong, or just threw out the info? I was going by reported world wide cases (124,968 cases and 4585 deaths = .03% and in the US 1109 cases and 31 deaths = .027%)...
  2. While listening to The Knack's "My Corona."
  3. You know, to be honest, I'm not worried about this at all... Mortality rate is less than 1% so far...if I get sick, I get sick...but I'm not gonna change my life for it...I would stay home if I did get sick, just out of compassion for others... Maybe that's said with the shortsighted view of someone who has more days behind them than they do in front of them, but that's how I feel...
  4. Two from my Dad... On a dishonest person: "he'd rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth." On work: "the world doesn't want to hear about the labor pains, they just want to see the baby."
  5. Are North Dakotans so deprived of steak they have a friggin "Longhorn Steakhouse" as the best? Really? What? They don't have a "Ponderosa"? And though Pappas Steakhouse is damn good, it's far from the best steakhouse in Texas... They did get Oklahoma right simply by not naming the overrated "Cattleman's" down in the old stockyard as the best...
  6. I was in the midst of 80,000 Texans last night who were following your advice... So I joined em...
  7. Figure I might wear a string tie just to fit in... I don't wear any of the regular Texas garb you mention above...my neighbor says I'm the reverse of the old saying... "All cattle, no hat."
  8. I'm so concerned that my wife and I are getting ready to go to the Houston Rodeo this afternoon to see Chris Young (whoever that is...she picked the concert)...here's my wife modeling our outfits...I tried to find em with cowboy hats, but no joy...
  9. They're only playing to a segment of their audience... We had "Drama Queens/Kings" when I was growing up, but not nearly in the volume I see today... Everything is offensive to some, scary to others, and I think the fact that through social media, you can say whatever you want, and take no real responsibility for it is the reason...in my day, gripe and complain if you want, but it was at your peril, too... In Martinsville when I was growing up, if you started shooting your mouth off, someone was going to call you on it...you had to put up, or shut up... The Paper Tigers of the internet age know they can just about say anything without repercussion... And the media plays to that...
  10. Feel sorry for those who've passed, but the press is making this a panic...an estimated 56,000 die annually from the flu... That said, I have developed a hand washing compelsion (as Barney Fife would say)... I hate being sick...
  11. Never tried Zombiedust, always wanted to try Dark Lord (sold one day a year) but not going to pay an exorbitant price or stand in line for it. 80 Acre is the closest tasting wheat beer to Gumballhead. But still not the same...
  12. Do you ever compete at the Ribfest in Naperville, Il?
  13. Love Gumballhead and Robert the Bruce 3 Floyd's in Munster, In. Can't get either down here in Texas... So I go with 80 Acre from Boulevard Brewing, Edmund Fitzgerald from Great Lakes Brewery, Left Hand Milk Stout from left Hand Brewery in Colorado... Stick with Michelob Ultra as a go to
  14. You won't be able to beat the 5 first rounders Pace will offer up...
  15. I think you have that one right...and glad you used the nickname he liked...he hated "Wilt the Stilt." For my money, the greatest basketball player who ever lived...
  16. Pace said yesterday that Trubisky was the starter next year and that he had confidence in him... Don't know what to think at this point, but I'd say creating real competition for Mitch is a really good thing...one way or the other...
  17. For clarification, did they average 25 per over the course of the season? Or just in the finals?
  18. The list of top prep scorers since 1948 Good ol Phil Wills of Grass Creek is in there... Tony the Tiger led the nation in 1990 averaging over 40 per!
  19. That is true, but the 2 teams he's mainly known for are in the AL Central (beginning of his career) and NL West (end of career)... And he's still involved in MLB, but not as a manager or coach
  20. Nope, not Winfield, but good guess... Position player who had some height to him...
