Thanks for sharing. I don't mind having a plan in place at all....but let's assume ( I know) Woodson is coaching for another 6-7 years minimally. Would any coach let alone Fife stick around that long? Honestly I would never want IU to commit to an absolute on the next coach that many years out.

I want Fife back but not if that means we are guaranteeing the gig to him down the road.

You hit on the 2 things that makes me question the info. sitting 6-7 more years in the 2nd chair and IU guaranteeing the job. I wasnt going to post this info but i thoughtt it would give us something to chat about. we shall see i guess.

Week from now things at IU could look a lot different (not meant to insinuate anything bad either)... we could have hired 2 more asst coaches by then, have 3 new players on our roster, shew so many possibilities.

I think Roberts stays on staff at least this year. If not, Woodson, Matta, and Hunter would be doing all the work. Just a lot for 3 guys, who are already understaffed and two of them haven't been in the college game.

Why would keeping Roberts matter? Hunter came from UConn.

Do we need to make an official announcement on Hunter? or is it just like.. "he's with us, duh" type thing? I really want to keep him.

If you keep Hunter I could see him maybe keeping Mike Roberts being a IU guy in some role. Maybe taking a step back into Dir. of BB ops. but just a maybe. If Mike would even want to.

  4. I met Larry Brown once in my back yard. I lived in Hilton Head Island, SC for 16 years when I worked on the PGA Tour. A golf cart was riding around in my yard so i went out to say i didnt mind if they walked around looking for their ball but keep the cart behind the stakes. It was Larry Brown. He was playing with Jim Boeheim and Jim Calhoun.

i don't buy into Archie not knowing or not caring about IU history.  i am trying to comprehend how it makes a difference to constantly be preaching on or telling current players old IU stories.  i mean they'd be really cool to me, but will that be the difference in getting us to play better basketball?  coach's job is to motivate.  they just have to be able to motivate whatever their style is.

The 3 things Dolson said the current players asked for in the new coach was telling about Archie. Relationship with the staff, player development and an opened up style of play.

I seriously doubt Archie had anything to do with ticket distribution to former players...that would be an AD/Athletic department call...Blame Fred Glass...

I don't know why you can't turn the page on Archie...You're emails worked...he's gone...

Fred Glass to blame all the way!! I hope Dolson revisits this policy of 2 tickets at 2 games a year. Should there be 50 former players there every game, no but it shouldnt be an issue if they want to come.

Are their going to be AAU events this summer?  Haven’t we not officially hired an assistant before so he wouldn’t be limited to the days he attended? If there are no AAU events, there is no point, but if there is I wonder if we might try that again.

I would thiink the NCAA will allow off campus recruiting soon. Football can recruit on campus soon if not already. A new staff wouldnt want to hide Assistants i wouldnt think. I look for splash hires from Woodson to make some noise.
