Watching KU and they really don't start a true big guy. This might be a game to go smaller because Wilson who is a wing plays the 4 and don't see Race or Malikngoing out on the perimeter to guard him.
Jordan ?

Arizona falling behind early and we need them to win
-
So it will be a great end to the week if UConn gets beat by ok st then creighton ( or even better ) Texas loses their game ….we have Kansas and zona both win and we are set up to earn our way into the top 3 by weekend after next

IU, purdue ( unfortunately ), indiana state all looking amazing in their conferences ….notre dame looking not deep but strong 1-7, ball state looking at least not terrible and butler improving under Matta……..indiana may be once again the best basketball state

With Baylor losing so badly to unranked Marquette, I wonder how far they fall next week.
Out of top ten for sure likely out of top 15

I think 1 and 1s are absolutely stupid.
I almost always agree with everything you say but respectfully differ on this one ….I LOVE the 1 and 1 ….adds a lot of strategy to closing a game

Well that's what ball pressure is. Bother them. The trick is to do it without fouling.
Agree that's what separates those two guys, but I actually think Smith is pretty athletic, he's just 5'11/6' just like Yogi, who I thought was tremendously athletic.
He is deceptively athletic I agree …our guards are faster and longer though ….some guys just handle pressure well and can use it against you ( ie foul trouble , creating easy buckets ) I didn’t see loyer more than a few times so I can’t swear with him but smith handles just about anything thrown at him or figures it out quickly

Ball pressure. Loyer and Smith need the hell pressured out of them.
It’s tough …smith isn’t good because he’s athletic he’s good because he has coach level iq and he is tough with the ball ….these are the types of players pressure doesn’t phase much you just gotta out work them and use your length quickness and athleticism advantages where you have them

In my mind. Absolutely. I will always carry a dislike for UK basketball that outweighs any team in any sport.
That’s a list that’s hard to narrow to one

Sure, time will tell on that. I even said we don't know how good this past week for Purdue will really look in February.
But we can only judge it based on what we know now.

Think they have a shot to take the Northeast conference title this year? Sacred Heart is the only other team that looks like it will contend. Central Connecticut looks terrible this year and Merrimack just got blown out by Bradley the other day 83-41. Long Island has Marko Maletic, a 6-6 sophomore who’s averaging 15.8 on 39.5% 3pt shooting (through five games, which isn’t a big sample size). Stone hill just lost to UMASS Lowell 73-59; a team that looks like the favorite to win the America East Conference (although Bryant looks good as well).

So , quite clearly , what I THINK I’m picking up from you guys …..is that you all want me to start talking about Luke brown ? Right ? 🤔😐😇

You sure are awfully uptight tonight. Take it easy fella. Sheesh…
I don’t think anyone is trying to tell you what to discuss, what thread to open or suggest that you go find yourself another board like ‘rivals’. 🙄
To be fair …He actually did suggest that 🤷🏼♂️

Unfortunately, it’s not just on this thread.
And there are over 350 other teams playing college basketball, yet the conversation comes back to PUke all too often.
I open this thread to read about college basketball, not the Purdue fan club
It’s probably because they are 1. Relevant to all our goals ( conference success and titles) 2. Our biggest competitor on the recruiting trail or near the top of the list 3. Our biggest competitor to fan base and 4. Chock full of indiana high school players who most guys on this board have followed as fans of high school basketball or from perspective iu recruiting.
I grew up hating Purdue and this is an iu forum but , hate them all you want, they have consistency and recently they’ve outperformed us even though they have more of a “ smaller market “ aura which is frustrating. I expect them to be discussed frequently for these reasons and hopefully we are back to a stretch where we win the majority of the matchups but Scott is right it’s more fun when they are good and we beat them

Best team in the Big 10 in my opinion. They will be tough to beat, especially at home.
I don't know if we have the shooters to beat them. Smith and Loyer are going to be tough to stop for everyone.
For four years unfortunately

80% of Purdue fans….why recruit a player who only had offers from Montana State 🤡
Essegian looks good at Wisconsin but I’m not sure if Purdue or IU had any room for another SG…just wish he was aSycamore or Bulldog
I’m on limb saying Hart is Big Ten caliber…UCF?
Essigian would Have been PERFECT at butler

You are a great poster and we’ve had great convos over the years. But, man, you have a tendency to overly fawn over Purdue and be nit picky, hyper critical of IU. If I didn’t know better, I’d think you are a Purdue fan in disguise.
Bob! You been ok buddy ? Bil is all iu i think he’s just realistic ….hatred for Purdue can ruin objectivity ….most everyone on this board was down on braedon smith for example ( he’s no good he’s only starting because they have no chive etc) and I have no doubt it’s because of Purdue hatred ….I’m able to hate them and evaluate them objectively and i think that’s what he’s doing …….I’ll admit they are chalked full of indiana kids and so while I don’t like I still appreciate those kids skills and efforts

We got Kansas/NC State coming up at noon today. Be interesting to see how the Jayhawks fare.
Essigian looked good even if Kansas isn’t as good as it’s ranking

Blackmon with 6 smith with 6-8 range Stetson up 14

With Kansas and nc trending down I would love for Arizona to have rattle off a 3 or 4 loss season with us being one of the losses
