Most of this thread's tech talk is incomprehensible to me.

I read about a guy who supposedly got an entire roll of 1955 double-die pennies from the bank. Uncirculated. He recognized what he had. Not sure what happened after that. I've never had one, but always thought it was a cool coin.

I got a red seal 1963 $2 bill from the bank this summer. Circulated, so it's only worth about $2 or maybe $3. Still cool to see, though. Image is from the internet. When I was a kid, I remember getting a silver certificate every now and then. And silver coins all the time - as many as you wanted from the bank for face value.

I agree. As much as I carp about shooting, Woodson's first season was like sailing a ship and repairing it at the same time. Last in free throws. Bad. First in team defense. Outstanding. I do expect us to build from that.

Will our outside shooting improve? Last season out of the 14 BigTen teams, we were: 11th out of 14 in 3-point percentage. Last in 3-point shots made. Last in free throw percentage. Our defense was very good. Overall FG% was ok (6th). Progress was made. The senator is good friends with Nick Saban, who hates the NIL because it diluted his recruiting power. From the senator: "we have the common goals of protecting student-athletes, ensuring fair competition and compensation, and preserving the time-honored traditions of college sports.” This is self-serving nonsense. They don't want to protect anyone but those already in power. "Fair compensation" cannot be defined. And many of the "time-honored traditions of college sports" need to end.

I had ten of these in mint condition. I traded them for a Popsicle when I was 5. One of the rare blue Popsicles. I know a deal when I see it.

I have Walt Bellamy autographs. He worked a summer basketball camp while still in the NBA, while I was a lifeguard still in high school. We ate lunches together, cheeseburgers and fries served on wax paper in those plastic mesh bowls. Chocolate milkshakes to drink. Talked hoops, just us, no one else even noticing. He had great stories. Grabbed 33 rebounds in one game at IU, still a BigTen record. Averaged 31 points 19 rebounds his rookie NBA year, rated as one of the top 3 rookie seasons ever. Made all-star teams. In the NBA Hall of Fame. Played on the 1960 gold-medal Olympic team with Jerry West, Oscar Robertson and Jerry Lucas. Played against Wilt Chamberlain and Bill Russell. He was a cool guy. One of the best IU players ever.

If I read his stats correctly, he shot: 2 for 11 three-pointers for the season, for 18%. He shot 56% free throws. Shot 52% from the field. Lots of dunks. In fairness, he's working on mechanics (shot is too flat), and is known for dunks. He could end up being a monster player, or not. We'll see.
