  1. Rumor is Cryer is all but committed to Houston. Hometown kid and the Cougs lose their entire back court.
  2. Thought the insider on this board said he was coming?
  3. Saw him live in Vegas as UNLV played in the game prior to ours with Arizona. Now just putting two and two together. He was easily the best player on the floor for UNLV in that game on both ends. Gave off strong Armaan Franklin vibes.
  4. Still need front court depth. Reneau isn’t anywhere close to playing 35+ mpg next year.
  5. He at worst is a rotational depth piece that makes an impact on the defensive end. IU has 2 scholarship front court players as it stands now with a high probability of one transferring.
  6. Impossible. He played on a bad team last year. 😜
  7. He's a "scorer" who does nothing else particularly well and is an inefficient offensive player. His A/TO ratio is absolutely dreadful. He's a high usage player who settles for bad jump shots that can't get to the line, 32 attempts in a 27 game season for a player with that usage is so bad it's comical. Don't get me started on the defensive end. Hard pass for me. But I understand, I'm not the coach.
  8. How is pointing out Battles' deficiencies trying to act like I know more than Woodson? Did I lie or perpetuate anything that wasn't true? He's not a good defender. He's not a good rebounder. He doesn't create for others, and while he's able to score the basketball, he does it extremely inefficiently. There's a 100+ game sample set that proves all this, no? I get it though, staff and CMW does something it must be the right thing because "THeY KnOW MoRe BAsKeTbaLL".
  9. We were literally talking about Battle and you shouted down any and all opinions about his ability that didn't conform to yours. Good lord, pot meet kettle.
  10. Lol. I think you like to hear yourself talk. A lot.
  11. We had 7-8 players healthy at that juncture of the season so wasn't really an option. But over the course of two years it's been a problem. Still won't forget the Iowa game where IU cut a furious Hawkeye start from 13 to 4 and then he takes out JHS and TJD and then the lead immediately ballooned back to double-digits and the game was effectively over. It's unforgiveable in a title race. I would have loved to have seen some smaller lineups with Kopp being the "four man" that allowed for spacing and shooting. Gunn deserved his share at some run considering how bad Bates played down the stretch. Kaleb Banks deserved more playing time based on some his production in the meaningful minutes he saw.
  12. -ridiculous/unconscionable substitution patterns ie hockey line substitutions -inability to bury teams early and often -stubbornness or unwillingness to change lineups -not running enough sets to free up shooters ie Kopp -huge decline is defensive efficiency from year 1 to 2 -inability close on any type of high level recruit this last recruiting cycle -inability to string together games consecutively down the stretch And full disclosure, I'm not anti-Woodson or on the fire Woodson train. Not even close. He's done an admirable job getting the Hoosiers back on track from the team he inherited. That being said he's been far from perfect and there has been a lot left to be desired. He is not beyond reproach no matter how much more basketball knowledge he possesses than the average fan.
  13. I don't need to predict anything when I have a 103 sample set of games that suggest Battle does nothing particularly well other than inefficiently score. I can predict that you will continue to sunshine pump any and all moves going forward though. Fair?
  14. I would hope he does and that still doesn't negate the fact that there has been plenty of questionable things that have transpired throughout his tenure that can be called into question.
  15. He brings nothing else to the table if he isn't taking shots. Like I said, he's doesn't defend, he doesn't rebound, he doesn't facilitate for others. And I hate to break it to you, but averaging 17 points on 14 shot attempts isn't the burn you think it is chief. Having Battle out there for 30 mpg and taking selective shots is a net-negative because he doesn't do anything else productively.
  16. Lol. So Woodson is above any and all criticism and no decision he's made the last two years can be called into question? Thanks for the laugh.
  17. Why do you assume that? Battle is a scorer who needs a high volume number of shots. And more often than not, he's very inefficient. And what is this big time skill set you speak of? He's not a good defender. Not a good rebounder. Doesn't create for others. He's an average 3 point shooter for his career coming off his worst shooting year of his career. He's not physical, he isn't an elite athlete. Yeah there's a reason why he was the best player on a 9-22 team. Every team has to have a best player. I really hope Indiana can do better.
  18. He's the only player that has started the last two years for them. I don't know what else you want me to tell you? He's an inefficient chucker who doesn't play defense. IU doesn't need an inefficient chucker next year who doesn't play good defense for 30-32 minutes.
  19. You may get your wish. There's a reason why Battle has never elevated any team he's ever been on.
  20. You're assuming that IU has the personnel next year to be as offensively efficient as this years Miami team. That's not going to happen with Battle and Malik next year. Miami is in the F4 in spite of their defensive metrics, primarily because of their ability to spread the floor and shoot the ball with high levels of efficiency. Your assessment of Omier couldn't be more wrong. Elite defender and one of the best rebounders in the entire country.
