Ware and MM shows no interest in competing hard and trying to win games.
Ware's effort on the season has been there. He played like 35 minutes and played his butt off his first game back from covid. I don't see a competitive edge from either guy. Like, yeah sure, every high major basketball player wants to go pro. If I'm a gm, I haven't seen anything that would make me draft them. They both have a ton of work. I think they would be wise to listen very closely to the feedback.

The amount of stupid long twos are team is coached to take is unfathomable.
Mbako takes 5 a game. Gunn is good for one a minute he plays.

We have quit. Zero compete.

I don’t want to make it bigger than it is, but at the same time it’s a bit of a microcosm of some of the complaints about Woodson as a coach…
he called timeout with .3 seconds (nothing was going to happen, and we need that timeout in H2) and then proceeded to not even put in Ware. Purdue did sub on the timeout to put another big on the inbound.
What are we doing?!?
They were reviewing the clock. Not a timeout.
Both teams still have 3

I envy how Painter gets his guys to buy into a role... instead we have Gunn throwing up a shot the first touch he gets and Reneau/Ware/Sparks forcing up dumb shots with 3 guys draped over them
We make basketball look really really hard.

Lots of thought going around that some guys are not gonna want to be head coaches in college with the NIL and transfer portal. They say there’s no time left to be a coach. Boston College just lost their head coach to a DC position with the Packers. Yes, it’s the NFL, but he still took a pay cut.
You said it. It's the NFL. Packers are trending up quickly. He could be looking at a head coaching gig in 3-4 years.

Unreal. I'm flabbergasted.
Pretty wild. If he wins big he will then be 1st in line to take over the next top 10 program that comes available.

Morris on the move after 5 hours. Pacers getting McDermott back. Honestly like the move. I knew something was up after the first trade.
They must just want him on the team. He has been doing very little so far this year. Does he still have anything in the tank?

I read after I posted originally that both guys they got have expiring contracts as well.
Not sexy but the 3 2nds is not nothing. A few years ago they basically got Brogden for free because Milwaukee had to salary dump. 2 2nds was all it took.

We are all on this wide spectrum of optimistic, pessimistic, realist, lean positive realist, lean negative realist. Most of us fanatics flow on this spectrum throughout the season. There has been one maybe 2 seldom posters, one rhymes with ho, who's agenda is let's say, sprinkled with strong hints of racism. Then there is one who always wants to blame it on the man. Dolson's fault. Boring and lazy takes and I told him as such 3 days ago and he's crawled back into his hole.
What we all need is just a little patience. Come on now. Major roster shake up coming in hot. NIL still wildly high. There are some concerns. Even last years roster wasn't constructed to get down hill or shoot, it was play your strength, TJD, duh.
If we don't look drastically different next year, then I'll pull out the retire now pitch fork. Since this is the overall staff thread, I'm fine with a head rolling if the brass seems fit but screw the optics. Only if we can actually improve the coaching and culture.

Guys. Holy shit. You don't know what Armond Hill does during games. You don't know what he does during practice. You didn't even know he was, or what he had accomplished, until someone jumped in to tell you. Yet you're throwing rocks at the guy and questioning his worth just because you saw his face on screen a few times when the cameras switched to Woodson. Literally out there catching strays. Some of y'all are so invested in your own discontent you're now making up ways to be upset about this staff.
That's the post of the month unless someone predicting 6 game winning streak comes to pass.

Woodson actually uses the word doubtful. Twice. Don't know the time frame he was referencing.

What a huge play by players and staff. Notice that Mbako was rolling to the basket. He wasn't just standing out on the wing hoping Trey would kick it out to him.

I mean this is a very complimentary way - that was a Zach McRoberts type of effort from Leal tonight. Would love to see him give us those the rest of the season (and next season?).
You can't play 5 ball dominant players, but AL does so many little things that help teams win games.
2 things he does exceptionally well. Communicates and competes. And those 2 little hand offs is just basketball 101. Penetrate and find an open man.
Remember in the off season they asked who would you want in a street fight with you and the answer was Leal? Remember he's ridiculously strong for his size. Can't remember his bench numbers but it was up there.

Michigan and Michigan State both have worse splits at home, which is surprising.
We actually have a bigger differential than Purdue, which I think will surprise a lot of folks.
I'm willing to bet my life savings Izzo has done some crying this year.

As the ball spins(pun for As the world turns soap opera). I'm lame.
Did yall know Conner McCaffery is dating Kaitlin Clark. If you ever watched the B1G story on the McCaffery family you would actually like them, love the mom, and still dislike Fran. If Kaitlin becomes a lady Pacer, I'm down with their offspring playing for the hoosiers in 20 years.

What about McDermott is he squeaky clean enough for us? Didn't he have the FBI looking into him

Well boys, I just found out my job of 18 years is being eliminated. Glad I've been doing my healthy things so my mental state is strong. The drinking version of myself would be going through an entire case of beer tonight.
Sorry bro. Just a realignment is all. You will come out better. I've heard this from many.

Agree. He isn't perfect, which is why he may be available. Absent the disturbing, but recanted allegations, he would have probably been at Texas for the rest of his career.
Here's the question for all on both sides of the Chris Beard debate, how will you feel if he's the coach at Ohio State or Michigan next year?
Well I'd crap my pants.
