  1. And thats fine. Play the guys that give you the best chance to win. In that case, it would probably be wise to tamper expectations, at least in the short term for the kid. He's young, he has pedigree, and now he's not pressured into something he's not ready for. I'm hopeful he's good for 20 solid minutes this year and if God forbid Brogdon goes down with injury then he's going to be greatly relied upon.
  2. Well to me it's relevant to the discussion that we're having which is the legitimacy of our bench depth. Maybe over the long-term it's not that big of a deal but we gained nothing by given Collison and Joseph minutes over him because they're not here anymore.
  3. The Pacers somebody said he'll be a future All-Star not sure who it's been repeated many many times now on local radio
  4. I get it that Brogdon is versatile but to go and spend all that money for a comboish point guard when you have your supposed All-Star point guard in waiting. I'm definitely in believe it when I see it mode.
  5. That or all this hype they were talking about wouldn't trade him for nothing, he's going to be a future All-Star is just that hype. Trying to drive up a trade market for him that doesn't exist.
  6. Yes we definitely won this trade. The Pacers aren't looking like a lottery team for a while.
  7. My post went widely ignored yesterday. If holiday is a future All-Star why does he get a 75% minutes reduction in a playoff series we knew we were losing? he played 4.3 minutes. it's ridiculous
  8. Actually they said Lottery protected until like 25 or 26 and then after that it's unprotected
  9. I guess I'll believe the organization and the 'leaks' that no way the pacers would trade holiday unless blown away and they think he's a future all star but upon further review... 4.3. 4.3 minutes is what they played their future all star point guard in the playoffs. A playoffs that everyone, including my mom, knew they had no chance of winning. Who played in front of him? 2 guys on expiring contracts that they didn't even bring back. So no, I'm not that hopefully and really think they were just drumming up some bullcrap to see if someone would bite on a offer. Then what do they do. Go and pay Brogden dang good money to play point guard.... in front of your future all star. Nope. Not buying it.
  10. And the jump said as of now Houston still has the best starting 5.
  11. Butler may be cancer, he's also a 4 time all defensive team.
  12. Thank you. Great info. I like lamb's versatility and don't think he's peaked. Just didn't want to be a homer.
  13. The Lakers obviously have high hopes for Khawi since they haven't taken one guy. I hope he stays with Raptors if not goes to the Clippers that would be hilarious with the Lakers striking out there one injury away from Lottery.
  14. Seth Curry vs Jeremy Lamb. Discuss. The Mavs just picked Curry up for 4 years 32 million. Lamp 3 years 31 mil.
  15. The Pacers play Checkers plain and simple. If you or I were the GM we could have put together this exact same offseason. this was not chess moves this was checkers.
  16. You are correct on Matthews. It's hard to say that thad has no value when he just got 3 years 41 million. That argument has just Fallen completely on deaf ears with me. I'll just agree to disagree with everyone, except @BGleas who has been in my corner on this before.
  17. Yes. 3 of those guys just proved they had value. Why are people denying that? And during the season Collison was more valuable than Joseph so he could have been traded as well. You're probably right nobody is giving anything for O'Quinn. Evans got suspended in the offseason not during the season whether or not somebody would have given something for him who knows
  18. Well the pacers have salvaged this off season but I'll never forget the wasted opportunity. I was told Cory Joseph had no trade value - 3 year 37 mil, what does that mean for Yogi? Thad Young could have fetched a 1st rounder, gone - 3 years 41 million. Bojan, gone -4 year 75 million. A decent cache, instead nothing. Collison, no one saw it coming but at least worth a few 2nd rounders, which we have seen become decent trade assets. OQuinn would have brought a 2nd rounder as well as Wesley and maybe even Evans. Could you image the pacers sitting on 2 more 1st rounders and 3 second rounders. Smh. For a 1st round predictable exit. May gone down as the biggest mistake in franchise history outside of the malice.
  19. You lost me. He'll be going on 35 at the end of this 4 year. If he doesn't retire he can probably get the veterans minimum if he's still healthy. I dont understand your argument because factually he left money on the table.
  20. @Hoosierhoopster. Butler left 48 mil on the table leaving Philly. That's not chasing money. 4 year 142 heat. 5 year 190 Philly. I wouldn't want him on my team but he proved himself yet again in the playoffs. It is what it is. I'm not asking you to agree or anything and we can agree to disagree though I'm not sure what the disagreement is lol.
  21. He became the team alpha in the playoffs, played really top 10 playoff ball. He could have gotten 5 years with Philly, took 4 with heat. I agree he's been cancer but the dude would have been talked about in a much different light had the shot bounced 4 times and went off and into overtime and then win. He would be NBA champ and finals mvp. 4 bounces, four. What's different about signing with Miami vs Brooklyn vs 5 at Philly vs clips vs Lakers vs houston or anyone else that would have given him literally the exact same contract? State income tax? Houston doesn't pay state tax. Miami is his team. He's following in wades footsteps, something evidently has been his plan for a while.
  22. I'm talking come playoffs. Everyone is always optimistic around here and gets chastised for being slightly negative. No reason to bet against Vic. Lots of ifs but I like the balanced attack options now. As @dgambill said, ". Brooklyn is a couple years away...Detroit not better...Philly downgraded....Milwaukee downgraded...if Kawhi goes west...Toronto downgraded...leaving only Boston maybe better maybe same."
  23. Russell 6-5 Thompson's 6-7. Wonder how much space they have now with all these sign and trades? I'm going to bed, let some dust clear. One thing we know at this moment. Next years champ is no predetermined. Where you going Khawi?
  24. He was going to make that with a long list of teams. One of them on the jump said d wade is his mentor and all and this is where he was wanting to go all along. Butler has a super star switch that only got ignored by a shot that went in after bouncing 4 or 5 times. Plus Reddick averages 3 3s a game. Gone. I do think their offense opens up a little, due to less shot demand. Embid can shoot but do you want the most skilled big man jacking 3s?
  25. Warriors are going to have to dump Iguodala. Pritchard pick up the phone. 2nd round draft picks go go go. Scratch that. that old man's making 16 million a year Memphis. Idiots. Just gave 3 future 1st rounders for a 35 year old. Smh Edit. So it's the warriors sending 3 future 1st rounders with iggy. Changes everything lol.
