Hopefully Dolson steps in and takes control of this mess.  Uses the NIL arm to keep the core of the team together while he goes and gets a pearl in the next few weeks.  Of Auburns top 5 players only one is out of eligibility.  This can be fixed relatively easy.  Woodson has to retire.  

I don't doubt Mbako coming back also played a roll in Liam.  Just a convenient excuse/timing instead of saying he didn't want to compete for time at the 3.

And, can we use this opportunity to put the NIL myth to bed?  I don't know for certain, but I'm fairly comfortable in my belief that Kansas did not lure him away from IU with the promise of more NIL than what IU offered,  They were able to lure him away based on what I said earlier in the post.  And, if you think that money is going to sway top talent in the portal this offseason (and we may need about 8 new bodies), then why would you think those players would take the money route when Dalton Knecht, Caleb Love, and Liam Mcneeley didn't? 

We're going to die on the belief that we can buy ourselves a successful team.   

 

I lost all hope today.  Before this we could see a really solid core returning.  Rumors of Simon throwing millions around.  But after this.  Woodson needs to retire.  If half the things Rabby dropped are true   If Woodson hasn't talked to Liam all season.  if he won't retire then fire him.

As a guard, I would not want to play in this system or for the coaching staff that runs this system.  I would leave a few NIL dollars on the table to play in a system where I could succeed, even if pkaying for that team was my childhood dream.

Can IU overpay for a 2nd tier guard?  Sure they can.  But, how much does that help the team?

On the flip side, if I'm an athletic big like TJD and Ware, I'm begging this staff to take me.

Money makes the world go round.  I. Not excited about Woody but with a crap ton of minutes and cash guards will come.  For many, it's reason 1 and 2.
