  1. Sounds great. Just one question...which year?
  2. Some people eat to live. I live to eat. And since I'll never be cute or young anymore, it works just fine !
  3. Understand your point, but I do (and always have) trusted in myself, rather than the gov't or others, to protect myself and family. If people are too stupid to take remedial precautions on their health (this or anything else) then they have no one to blame but themselves. It is disheartening that we lose any life to any virus, or cancer, or crime, or car accidents, etc. But to blame the gov't for our problems isn't going to solve the issue. We are going to solve the issue. The medical professionals, the logistics people, the food processors, the everyday worker, the list goes on and on. Without an economy we have no country. It's a balance we have to manage. Economics & Medical precautions.
  4. Not as much as they used to be, and in reality, they're nothing more than an agent to sell insurance. Oh, they tout a bunch of benefits, but in reality they're pretty incompetent from my standpoint. I wouldn't join that organization if Rico paid my bill.
  5. Then I'm all for it. I thought I said Retired Seniors, but maybe not. The relief funds should be for workers....of any age IMO. But for those of us already retired...we're supposed to have our finances in order.
  6. Got ours this morning via direct deposit. While I'm not gonna complain about getting a drop of my tax money back, I am confused as to why people on SS, or welfare get any money at all, when the program was supposed to help "workers". Retired Seniors didn't really suffer any loss of income due to the virus, and we probably saved a bunch of money by not being able to go anywhere and spend it. No restaurants, no shopping for grandkids, no day trips, no sightseeing, no nothing. Welfare recipients get everything free already...Housing, food, phone, $1200+/month per kid, plus, plus, plus. Seems like a waste to me. Just my 2ยข.
  7. Personally...I'd like to take the warning labels off of everything and let nature run its course. We'd have an increase of national IQ by at least 10 points in a couple of years.
  8. Just got back from a dealer that had a turbo diesel F150 on his lot (2019. No 2020's yet). Drove it. Did not like it near as much as my Eco-boost F150. And...they get $4,000 for the diesel engine, and they only put it in the Lariat and above models which are over priced to begin with. (makes no sense to me, but it is what it is). Anyway, now I can focus on another Eco-boost. Will more than likely have one built, rather than buying something off the lot that's loaded with a bunch of BS that I'll never use. Can't wait to see the goodies Ford offers as incentives when they start production again in May.
  9. If I'm not mistaken, there was a nursing home that was the epicenter. I think they lost something like 32 patients from that one facility, in like 10 days or so. For a while that was 95% of Washington state's deaths. More now of course, but it sure looks like that was ground zero for WA.
  10. Then the dealer couldn't charge you for 4 hours of labor @ $150/hour to remove the bed, and probably another 4 hours to put it back on again. But they would probably drop the tank and make you buy another tank (OSHA/EPA regs) for the price of a new pickup...
  11. Getting the itch for a new F150. Ford recently introduced a turbo charged 3.0 diesel for the F150. Gonna go drive one in the next week if the dealers are open here. Not sure they are. I figure with everything being shut down for the last month, and probably another 2-3 weeks, they should be willing to "give them away" when "we can go outside and play".
  12. Neighbor had the same problem with his Escape. Took it back to dealer (or rather dealer came and hauled it away) 5 times before they fixed it. It was a sensor to the key fob that was located in the trunk. Not sure where Nissan hides theirs, but you might want to research that. Good luck!
  13. Did she use 2...or 3 bowls? Sorry....couldn't resist. Spending too much time locked up at home.
  14. And let's not forget "controlling our every move". On another note...here is an interesting article on possibly another drug that could be very useful: (used in heartworm patients (dogs, horses, mammals) https://www.breitbart.com/border/2020/04/04/common-anti-parasite-drug-may-kill-coronavirus-in-under-48-hours-say-researchers/
  15. Went to Tractor Supply yesterday to get some herbicide (they are an essential business around here) and I was amazed as to how many people were out and about. We're not under a state lock down yet...but I think it's coming. First time I've driven my truck in a week.
  16. Reason #447 why I refuse to use anything google.
  17. I thought 300k was too optimistic as well, but I sure hope you're wrong on 1-2M. (you probably are not, but I hope you are wrong)
  18. A little context for virus... Just saw some charts on the number of cases in Europe, specifically Italy, Spain, France, etc and the USA. Dr Birx stated in a recent presser that the US is about 5 times the size of Italy (in population). Italy has about 110k cases and a horrible death rate. The US has about 125K cases (so far), and the number will go up with more testing. But it seems like our hunkering down is having a positive effect. Our curve has not peaked, but in my mind I think we're mitigating a lot of cases that would have been much worse than they already are. Hopefully, we can stay under 300K cases. We'll see.
  19. Sounds like he's making you look like a hero, by giving him the opportunities to have a life that is better than his parents. Isn't that part of the American Dream? Congrats on a great parenting job.
  20. According to a guy I talk to at Home Depot, he says they are busier than hell, because all the guys are coming in to get supplies to work on their "Honey Do" lists. HD, Lowes, Tractor Supply were all very busy here yesterday, and looks like they have been for quite a while.
  21. "You can't do the job right, unless you have the right tools". That's what I always tell the wife. Like you guys, I take pride in fixing something myself. My Dad instilled the concept of trying to fix it yourself when I was 8, when he had Mom's wringer washing machine in parts on the basement floor: "Son...you might as well try fixing stuff yourself first, because the repair guy isn't gonna charge you anything extra if you F it up". Good words to live by for the last 60 years or so. I do all my own repairs, maintenance on vehicles, even built the last 4 houses for us. I'm the epitome of "jack of all trades...master at none".
  22. Well...once you get your 55 years of work in, you can retire to a place like this. And then 2nd guess yourself as to "why the hell did I do this ?!!" Actually I love it. Grew up on a 10 acre hobby farm. Mom had a 1 acre garden. I don't EVER want to pick green beans again !!
  23. You guys are into much more labor intensive stuff than I am. My "gardening" entails taking care of 10 acres of grass. Damn near a full time job, but most of it is tractor time. Mowed 6 acres of it today, matter of fact.
  24. FYI... Fox is presenting a star studded "at home concert" Sunday night @ 9 pm on all of their channels/platforms to help raise money to combat the Corona Virus. List of recording artists is long and impressive. Elton John hosts. Might beat watching re-runs.
  25. You may, and probably are correct that there are cases of the virus near me. But there are NO deaths. As of this morning the US has only endured 80 deaths nationwide, and 25+ are from the nursing home in Washington state. My point was that while the reported number of cases will undoubtedly increase with increased testing, that does not automatically translate into a sudden rise in deaths. I'm upset that the media, both print and video in a large proportion automatically ASSUME that if you get the Corona virus, you're either dead, or going into ICU. I don't believe that will be the case at all. High risk people will likely require some form of intense care, but for the vast majority of Americans, we'll be no worse off than the seasonal flu. And now there is a generic drug that shows real promise for therapeutic treatment of the virus...quickly.
