Not that anybody cares, but here are the results for MVP voting for the B1G conf, thru Feb. I promised to give an update at the end of each month.
On the weighted scale (1st, 2nd, 3rd in voting): Ware is 1st. Reneau, Gallo, & Mac are close behind. Only 2 votes separate them.
On the winner takes all tally: Ware 1st, Reneau close 2nd.
On the most votes: Ware, GALLO in 2nd, and Reneau 3rd.
I'll post season to date before the start of the B1G tourney. I plan on keeping track of the B1G tourney results separately, assuming we win a game or 2.

I've intentionally stayed out of this discussion because I figured one of you more seasoned observers would bring it up, but so far I haven't seen it.
First off, I REALLY wanted Woody to succeed. No reservations about it. But...he hasn't.
And I have a theory, and it's just that...a theory. The vast majority of Woody's life has been in the NBA. Only 4 years @ IU, and 30+ years in the league. They play (or used to) 82 games a year. No NBA team EVER comes close to an undefeated season. And in Woody's tenure, he became "accustomed" to losing. The question was how many?
To me, he just seems all too comfortable with losing, and "gotta keep working" and moving on to the next game, almost like there are an infinite number of games to make it work. His reluctance to make adjustments to starting lineups is frustrating to me, always has been. Even when a bench player far exceeds a starter's production, he sometimes doesn't even get into the next game, much less get a starting position, or major minutes.
Our fundamentals stink, offense is in slow-mo most of the time, and no real leadership IMO.
Now I'm sure Woody has forgotten more about the game, than I'll ever know. But in life, some things are obvious, even to casual observers.

Can Malik not commit some dumb fouls.
I'd bet on ... its a given....

Wish I could vote for 2. Gallo & Ware.
Gallo's 12 assists were under appreciated in my book. But Ware was finally engaged the entire game, and dominated.

I was flipping back and forth between the Men's and women's games. There was one very striking difference: The women's team moves the ball with pace, both up the floor, ,and particularly in each and every pass they make.
The men's team (mainly X) walks the ball up the court, and every pass is non-chalant. I bet it never gets above 2 mph. We had at least 2-3 steals against us because of lazy passes.
It's so fundamental. I learned how to pass in the 6th grade....
And we may have some talented players, but they're not mentally tough. Not even close. Cupps, Gallo, and Walker are mentally tough in my book. But no one else comes to mind. Maybe Leal.

I really don’t like hearing some individual singing the national anthem at sporting events. Just get a military band to play it. I don’t need someone’s musical interpretation. It’s generally bad.
Except this one....

I view Dusty May differently than some of you. I see a coach with a great background, working his way up the ranks of coaching, and getting a bunch of 2-4 star guys to come to some unknown school in FL and be more than just a buy in game.
Of the games I've watched, his teams have been more than competitive in all of them. His guys are not nearly as talented as the "big schools", but he has a system that works and makes them a tough team to beat.
And his facilities are crap according to him from an interview I heard. They wouldn't even take recruits to the locker room on the tour.

Woody is 65 years old. 2 and a half years of college coaching experience. Woodson doesn't have time to miss.
Just FYI for all you "youngsters" out there (under 45) thinking 65 is on a final approach to a funeral, I'll wager Woody (and the rest of us on this board 65+) are just as sharp mentally as any of you. Woody has at least 10 more years if he wants it. I doubt if he wants to coach that long, but he certainly could.

Watch, Edey will draw a foul on the opening tip...
I think we should put Cupps in the circle to jump with Edey and put Ware between 2 of the PU guys on Edey's side of the circle....so he can steal the tip.

Re: Sara's "double dribble". I too, thought the first reach and one dribble to get control of a loose ball, was not an official possession and dribble. The drive (with multiple dribbles) IMO was her first and only official dribble.
Moore-McNeal was accosted by 3 MSU players, probably fouled at least 4-6 times and the dumbass refs call a jump ball.
Camera angle was 25' away and it was multiple fouls plain as day.

I’ve always been partial to middle of turn 4. You can see them coming into 3, in the short chute, thru 4, down the home straight and into 1.

I don't doubt his resume, and I'll admit it is impressive. But I've yet to see him verbalize 1 syllable the entire season.
If he's a "big picture" guy and not an active assistant, seems to me he shouldn't be on the bench during a game. But...not a big deal, just an observation.
Thanx for providing the resume on him.

This seems like one of the hardest things to gauge as fans. We can watch players play, we can see style of play etc. with coaches, but what do we really see with the rest of the staff? One thing I liked about Crean's staff was that he had a couple of guys there in McClain and Buckley who had previous head coaching experience.
I can't really put my finger on why, maybe it's what I just typed above, but I'm okay with Woody coming back next year in spite of my frustrations, but I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of new faces sitting next to him.
I'm still trying to figure out what the old fart that sits to Woody's right on the bench does to benefit the team. Or is he just Woody's pal?

If that is an F1, and I just use this example, because it is the easiest, I would say Edey should have 2-3 F1

Gallo for his leadership, defense, and oh yeah...25 points, 19 in the 2nd half. 4 assists, a steal, and some boards.
At-a-boys for Leal, Malik, Ware.
GFY to the refs. 40+ fouls.

Personally I think Leal should get Cupps minutes and start, let Cupps come off the bench to give Leal a blow.

This is a real easy one.
Installing a "Catch can" on your engine to capture contaminants, and residue solids from your engine, and not recirculate them back into the intake manifold to go thru the engine again. (keeps you engine much cleaner internally).
(You mechanics and skip this paragraph.) Part of the engine's pollution control system includes a PCV valve on top of your rocker arm covers and diverts/recirculates unburned exhaust gases (and other stuff) back into the engine to get mixed with your clean fuel and burned again in the cylinders. Depending on the engine, age, an type of driving, there can be significant amounts of "junk" that goes back into the engine. Most of witch are not beneficial to the long term health of your pistons, rings, cylinders, and other downstream components like catalytic converters, etc.
By installing a Catch Can, you re-direct those PVC gases and particulates into the catch can where they settle to the bottom, and cleaner air recirculates back into the intake manifold. It's an easy install, and inexpensive. Took me less than 20 minutes. You remove an OEM hose, and install 2 more. One hose from PVC valve to catch can, one hose from catch can to intake manifold. You're essentially adding a loop with a filter between the PVC valve and the intake manifold.
I plan on keeping this vehicle until the wheels fall off, so keeping the engine as clean as possible will extend the life of it.
Here's a pic of the finished install. The catch can and the 2 hoses.

Along the same lines pertaining to people in the aisles, I absolutely hate it when someone is leaving the grocery store, Walmart, wherever, and then stop right in the middle of the exit door with people behind them. Most of the time they have their heads in the phones (same thing as up their rears). No idea of what's going on around them, or all the people they disrespect by this action.
