  1. Actually, I remember RMK sometimes not calling timeouts early in the season and just letting the team "learn the hard way." There were some brutal stretches in game because of that.
  2. I guess we are not watching the same things :)! I do agree on needing more strength. In my opinion, if KL was 20 pounds heavier, we would be talking about him with similar gushing reviews as Tamar. The other players getting accustomed to having a pass arrive "at any moment" will help him with his turnovers as well.
  3. This is why I am high on KL: Has good passing angles Great handle - has had not trouble beating the press against two teams The chemistry between KL and Tamar is palpable His defense improves at literally a visible rate - obviously will not continue indefinitely... I could go on.
  4. I would put us top 25. But to be fair, our body of work to date does not demand that we must be ranked. I am ok with sportscasters wanting to see more before they jump on the bandwagon. Honestly, I prefer we build steam with the rankings than getting over-hyped too soon.
  5. I do not want to restart all of the fighting that occurred when Woody was first hired, but corrected anyway. If you want my arguments why he was an underrecognized for his success as a head coach, just dig up my figures from around the time of his hire.
  6. I feel like several players have expanded their game, but Race does not even seem like the same player. Letting him play has really shown what he can do.
  7. +1 If anything, the time at IU last year was a negative. If he had been playing in high school, he would have a lot more confidence to start the year. There is more development to be done than if he were a true freshman. Honestly, I believe he could be one of our top 3-4 players at the end of the year. He combines athleticism with moments of old man game cleverness. If only he had about 15-20 more pounds on him.
  8. I have been rooting for Minnesota to end it for the last 10 minutes and they lost the 4th set...
  9. When I saw the matchups, I thought we would win the Gavitt games as well...
  10. I agree. I thought he had difficulty adjusting to the physicality at first, and that caused the fouls. Once he settled in, i thought he was excellent on both sides last night.
  11. If IU is ranked in the top 10 and we are true Final Four contender AND STILL finish 7th or 8th in the B1G, then that is one heck of a season for the B1G... Either that or conference realignment has gotten really out of hand and the B1G is some 64 team behemoth...
  12. My money is this will be one of the most watched games on BTN this year.
  13. I expect the B1G to be more competitive than usual (due to the COVID bonus year). That said, I believe we finish top 3. Not clear who will be ahead of us, but I am a believer!
  14. I cannot wait for the game - I feel like this was simultaneously the most interesting offseason and the LONGEST in my memory. I feel like I have been waiting for the start of the Woodson era for 10+ years! I cannot believe I am also ready for the (inevitable) post game overreactions: If we win by more than 25: We are unstoppable, #6 here we come, let's build a statue for Coach Woodson If we win by less 15: What is wrong with the team, we need better players, (insert name of a player with 2+ turnovers) should transfer If we lose: The apocalypse is here, fire Woodson, kick all players off the team I think if we win in the 15 - 25 range, maybe we will not overreact... maybe :)! Here's to winning the first one by 35+. Let's build that statue! I do believe that Woodson will bring us #6 before he is done... and #7. (I got into the Kool-Aid last night...)
  15. Might give the statistician carpal tunnel syndrome...
  16. I think >. Cincinnati brings multiple national championships. Houston the recent final 4 and phi slamma jamma. I think Beard will be great at Texas, but I have been around long enough to not start counting his national championships until they happen. It's not like Houston's coach is a slouch either.
