Big Ten West:
UCLA, USC, Oregon, Washington, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, (1 more team from Big 12/Pac 12)
Big Ten East:
Indiana, Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn St., Michigan St, Maryland, Rutgers
Those are pretty evenly matched and would make for some good matchups and potential championship games.
You could even break those down into subdivisions. Like the Big Ten East could have 2 divisions of 5 (Illinois, Northwestern, Purdue, Indiana, Michigan) and you could do something where one year Big East Div A plays all the teams in their division and then all the teams in West Division B. So say Colorado was that last team for the West. IU would play all the teams in their subdivision (4 games) and then play all the teams in the West "Pacific" division (UCLA, USC, Washington, Oregon, Colorado) for a total of 9 games. Then you have the top teams in each division square off for a chance to play for the Big Chapionship.
I think we should pick up Stanford - there is an academic component here and Stanford brings MIT level Academics with a solid all around sports program.
It is always good to be associated with a school like Stanford.

We seem to be the only fan board I see that discusses realignment under basketball... even Kansas is discussing it under football.

Texas A&M plus a couple of Pac 12 schools like USC and Oregon would would be a homerun for the B1G. Throw in Kansas for their basketball and to make it even then call it a day.
That is pretty much where I would go... if we have to throw in a couple of other like Colorado/UCLA... could work as well.

FYI: The Kansas board seems to think they will be joining the B1G and that it will be announced "soon."
They may be falling prey to the same type of momentum that created the Brad to IU hype though..

Anything is possible lol
It is more wishful thinking than anything else. If we are going to expand, A&M seems like one of the most valuable potential schools out there...

I think you are right about the Big 12 collapse being inevitable, and everyone associated with the schools in it knows this as well. The B1G doesn't have to chase any of the remaing schools, those schools will be almost begging the B1G for membership since their other alternatives will be a lackluster Pac 12, AAC, or Mountain West. The ACC might take a team like West Virgina and maybe one other but that would be it with them.
A&M would be a homerun in my opinion, but unfortunately with them voting yes on OU and Texas joining I think they are falling in line with the rest of the SEC and not going anywhere.
Maybe A&M voted yes to make it easier to leave secretly...

Probably insane "phans" at the phog... but the rumor is Kansas to the the B1G:

Given the AAU restriction, what I would do is just add every AAU school from a power 5 willing to come (you're welcome Iowa State...) into a single blanket (THE BIG) and then create regional subconferences that more or less recreate some of the great conferences of the past (PAC, Big Ten...)
Taking Iowa State would be charity to make it seem more noble of a venture than it is...
To be nice, help the remnants of the old PAC-12 and Big 12 combine...

Not sure if it was posted, but this is a pretty reasonable compilation of a lot of the topics above...

Knowing this was one Crean wanted at GA also makes me discount current rankings. Crean has a bit of a knack for finding talent flying under the radar.
He also has a knack for recruiting very random players...

Notre Dame and Clemson would trump Texas and Oklahoma.
And when did A&M and Mizzou become prestigious SEC schools?
By SEC standards
They are AAU schools is all I meant.

Honestly, there is no obvious move that the Big Ten could do to counter an addition of Texas to SEC. That is huge.
The best bet is to wait for Texas to destroy the SEC from the inside :), then pick up some of the more prestigious SEC schools: Texas A&M, Florida, Vanderbilt, Missouri, ...

Had a former Bama player that is very connected to the program tell me Yasir is a great guy, but never closed recruits. I tried to explain recruiting to IU and Bama is different. Hope this is just the start. Love this commitment.
He does not need to close the recruits, just reel them in so that Woody can close the deal :)!

This line from the article was laughable. Brad Davison being treated unfairly by the refs? Are you kidding me?
Potter called out Gard for not having players’ backs, specifically Davison’s. Players — and some fans — felt Davison was being treated unfairly by Big Ten officials.
That is pure comedic gold right there. I applaud anyone who can say that with a straight face.

That may well be, but if you look at the beginning of this thread some of the big NBA fans were the most skeptical of Woody's hiring...
+1
I think that my complete lack of prior knowledge of Coach's NBA experience was why I was an early supporter of him being hired (after the Dunkin Donut eating guy fell through - what was his name again?).
I saw his record with fresh eyes and realized it was really good (considering the teams he coached - excellent).

At this point, it's a red flag for me if guard highlight videos mostly show dunks/layups. Show me 5 mins of a kid splashing it in from long range. Can't have any more guards that shoot 20% from 3.
Given the way they cut the video's, I could have a highlight reel of splashing 3's; I could not have a highlight reel of doing what he did there...

Surprised to see that was by a former Pacer...Any guesses?
So no-one on the flying Illini averaged 25 points a game?

Conference Realignment

I bet it will make favored walk on a lot more interesting. It might be more financially advantageous to be the 100th guy off the bench for Alabama than be on scholarship at Akron.
