It's funny, for sure, but they don't put that much stock in one regular season game, and the Clips just came of a convincing W over Denver after beating LA. How in the world the Clips played that poorly is a good question, regardless. Interesting going forward to watch how they adapt to Lue's new system, and it's almost a triangle set up, a different look. I have thought it would take them to about a quarter of the way in to start playing consistent good ball, they started better than I thought they would, but it's only 3 regular season games, really can't put too much stock into anything at this point.
It does not excuse a 50 point beatdown, but Kahwi did not play.

Just keep Mile's spirit living on. That is exactly what he would want.
I never met him in person, but I really miss him on this board. I was always interested in what he had to say.

Am I the only one thinking "Lord of the flies" with the Kentucky team this year?

Good idea to omit Stanford :)... Kelley is definitely better and more prestigious that PU and MSU's business schools.

Before the apology and here is part of a quote from the article.
"Mike Krzyzewski -- anybody who thinks that he might not play because his team lost two games, it really is sad," he said. "I feel bad for somebody that would make a statement like that. I can understand how bloggers do that because they don't -- that's what they do. But Mike Krzyzewski isn't saying that because he doesn't want to play or he doesn't have a good team. He said that consistently from the beginning of the year and it's sad to see somebody say something like that. It really speaks to somebody's character."
The only thing I took from that article is that Boeheim only wants to play because Syracuse is 4-1...😉

I probably watched minutes of the game and saw Smith shoot ne shot which he hit. It was one of those turn around 15 footers that luckily went in.

I agree it’s not as egregious as the Yankees. That’s why I threw on the “to an extent.” I also respect their drafting and farm system as they drafted Seager, Lux, Buehler, Will Smith and more.
But small markets could never afford the Betts contact. So i think we have to acknowledge that the Dodgers do take advantage of having deep pockets. They spend money. Smaller market teams don’t have that kind of payroll.
I agree that the dodgers could not maintain their team without deep pockets (it is expensive to keep players), but I think the "buy the team" is really unfair. I think the highest profile free agent signing (at the time of the signing) that played a role in the WS was Pollock. Those that did not come through the minors (many mentioned, but also Kershaw, Bellinger, May, Urias, Jansen,...) were largely clever "scrap heap" acquisitions (e.g., Turner, Taylor, Hernandez, Muncy...).
Obviously, Betts put them over the top, but they were probably as good as anyone in baseball even if they still had Verdugo (also from their minor system) in right. It is not like he was a terrible player.

Has anything been said about the Pacers trading for 2021 draft picks?
If I was a GM, I would be trying to acquire 2021 and 2022 draft picks. With a lot of players staying in college this year, those drafts should be a bit backlogged with depth. The fifteenth pick in 2021 might be as valuable as the 7th pick this year.

I think having a presence in Cinci and Columbus is a good thing. Those two cities certainly aren't Indy when it comes to hoops, but they aren't barren either.
+1 Archie having coached at Dayton should have some connections.

Thanks.
It’s great we landed Duncomb and looking forward to seeing him play/develop.
I’m especially excited to see him play with Kaufman at IU
And I think we are recruiting some other players at Archbishop Moeller High School - which I think is a good program (correct me if I am wrong). It would be nice to establish a solid pipeline to a quality regional school, even if it is 40 minutes outside the Indiana border 😄!
