  1. Taped it and am about to sit down and watch!
  2. So the blade is the part stuck in the wood it looks like? The rest is poly? I think from now on when I see you posting, I’m going to picture you running up to the computer with this in your outstretched hand. RAWR!
  3. But it’s not confusion. These news anchors are not dumb. They know what they are doing. And that’s stirring up people who won’t take the time to research it. Are they bad for you? Maybe? Are a lot of things we do bad for us? Certainly. But I’m just so sick of the media using these pretty much nothing burger things to divide us.
  4. I think you touched on some important things in your post. Shallow thinking and gullibility are a problem. But I also think many of us want to believe things that agree with our world view, no matter how bonkers they may seem. It doesn’t help that television (and print) “news” is being weaponized against us. People consume so much bad information from these programs.
  5. The US has to have the dumbest population of any country in the world. How can so many of us succumb to such stupid conspiracy theories?
  6. So if I’m reading that right, we are shooting well w/o great shooters.
  7. Was able to watch the Michigan game last night. Man, this team competes. First time I’ve seen them play this year and it was impressive how they just kept Michigan at an arms length pretty much the whole night. No panic. No rushed shots. Holmes is really a force on the inside and later in the game Berger just put on a clinic of getting to the basket through traffic. Great outside shooting as well by the team. Fun team to watch! The OSU game Thursday night is also on BTN - that will be a hell of a game. Glad it’s at home.
  8. Those drive me crazy. We have the exact same thing that happens in academic medicine seminars at work. The speaker gives their presentation and then I usually leave once the questions start. The people asking the questions always have to talk about themselves first, show everyone how smart they are, and then finally meander to their actual question. Rinse repeat for about fifteen minutes.
  9. What’s most sickening about this one is that they were just trying to celebrate an important occasion. But some asshat couldn’t abide by that. Just horrible.
  10. Beating the “Crying Izzos” is one of my favorite things about basketball. Hate the coach, hate the players, but most of all hate the university. Loved seeing Tamar and Galloway light it up from three, but mostly loved how TJD again just dominates the other team. He is really feeling it. Oh, and Kopp dunks! Loved this game.
  11. Didn’t get a chance to watch the game until last night, but man that was a just dominance over Illinois on their court. I’m actually surprised we didn’t beat them by 25. Geronimo seems to be getting what his role is now. Glad that he and Woodson figured that out. And TJD looks like his back is almost 100%. Dude looks like he is on a mission - probably realizes that this is his last shot st making some big noise in the tournament. My favorite part of the game was how quickly the crowd abandoned their or “IU sucks” chant. That lasted about a minute before we started stepping on their team’s throat - on their home court. On to the next. I HATE the whining Sparties and their coach. Cannot have a let up tomorrow.
  12. Two more for the collection, though this Northwoods is going to be a user. It’s my first Northwoods (Gladstone, MI) knife and I like how it’s more of a rough unfinished blade of carbon steel. The one with the acorn shield is an older 2008 Great Eastern Cutlery knife. Actually paid a bit more than I wanted for it on Ebay, but absolutely fell in love with the aggressive jigging on the bone covers. Both are in the 3.75 inches size, which I like for pocket carrying.
  13. Great news, thank you both. Will be nice to see them live on BTN.
  14. Bummer that these games are only on BIG+ for me. Would love to watch these women demolish teams.
  15. Automatic buy! I have the 7Up bottle from the same year in my office at work.
  16. Or the new automatic dryers that always stop when your clothes are just the right level of damp. I don’t even use our dryer anymore - just hang the clothes on a drying rack. Also helps with the dry air in our apartment.
  17. I prefer a gas stove over electric for cooking and making espresso. We unfortunately have an electric. Also, this kerfuffle seems to be manufactured to get people’s panties in a wad: https://apnews.com/article/biden-united-states-government-us-consumer-product-safety-commission-ap-fact-check-texas-2003dcf8d0bee8ddf45080186b2e0c7b I really wish politicians would spend more time doing productive things (HA!), rather than lathering up their bases.
  18. Totally shut him down. This is the kind of effort I’v been waiting for. Was hoping that we had hit rock bottom after trying to figure out how to replace XJ and Race. Sometimes it takes a bit of time to adjust when you lose key people. Loved handing Wisconsin their asses and knowing they had no answer. TJD looked pissed and ready to go, JHS’ mid-range jumper is going to pay off, and love that Jeronimo seemed to respond to Coach riding him in that long practice. I thought we would win today in a close game, but much prefer a blowout. Especially against the Badgers. Bring that same effort against Illinois and we win that one too.
  19. Driving is hell in Brooklyn. Saw this while walking to the store this morning. This gentleman was just waiting for the light, not his car.
  20. This is my least favorite part of an IU basketball season. Starts getting difficult and the losses come, which is a bummer, but tolerable. What’s tough is wading through all of the FIRE THE COACH posts and threads, when we’ve barley started the conference season. Doesn’t matter who the coach is, the behavior is the same and predictable. I love talking and reading about IU basketball, but I’ll be avoiding the IU basketball section of the forum after losses from here on out. I’d rather talk politics with @Reacher than read through all this drama.
  21. That stuff is SO tiresome. Adult men with nothing better to do. They need a hobby.
  22. I don’t see how Barney Fife would help this team - only one bullet and all. Kidding, but no Fife would not make a lick of difference other than scaring kids away. First 10 minutes looked okay for the most part. We were competing. I was even hopeful a bit in the early first half, but man the wheels came off fast. My first inclination is to buckle down for another extended losing streak and wallow in misery, but I’m going to try to have some faith over the next few games. We would not have lost all of these games at full strength, but that doesn’t matter anymore. We have to play the guys who we have. Let’s just win the next game and go from there.
  23. I thought they were all related. Shows you how much I know.
  24. Actually no, I did not know that. Thank you for pointing out. I can’t keep of all the wannabe social media sports accounts and pretty much just ignore all of them these days. Edited to add that The Daily Hoosier and Inside the Hall are on my reading lists. They are actually providing great and useful content.
