  1. Would LOVE to get X back for next year. Unfortunately, we most likely will not have JHS.
  2. I get why these organizations have so many hoops to jump through, but man they sure make it difficult sometimes. A lot of NYS places won’t adopt out to anyone in the city. We have a huge outdoor terrace, and in our building we have a dog wash station, a massive back yard, AND a separate fenced in building-only dog run.. We also have Prospect Park less than a mile from our house - it’s like Central Park but better. But still so many orgs just ghosted us when we said we lived in Brooklyn. I like the way your wife thinks with the covered dog run - with house access!
  3. I would take option B if given the choice.
  4. She does not care about basketball at all, but knows I do and is very tolerant. However, this is her birthday weekend and the entire weekend is all about her. She calls the shots. So, she gets to pick where we go for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and I can’t veto her selections. She’s a big foodie and culture person, so always has a list of places she wants to go to. It’s tough here, when there are so many places that we haven’t been to. Luckily, she has excellent tastes and where she picks, I’ll be pretty happy. The closer is this though. She knew I had this game and the IU women’s game to watch today, so she got tickets to a Broadway matinee this afternoon. I just have to remain sober enough to meet her at her evening place today - the lobby of the famous Chelsea Hotel that’s been reopened.
  5. Really looking forward to watching this game today. Took the wife out for dinner and drinks last night and didn’t expect to be watching the game afterwards. Very pleasant surprise! NW has a tough remaining schedule. We could very well sneak into second - or hell, first. Let’s do this!
  6. Our dachshund is a breeder surrendered to a rescue org in Texas. Like a lot of shelter dogs from the south they then end up here in the North. She was in a white van with like 30 other dogs for three days. Was a complete nervous mess when we got her, but she’s living the charmed life now. She does still have some trust issues around others - you can tell she was abused at some point.
  7. Yeah, it’s super sad to see these broken dogs. People are the absolute worst. We often do a Sat morning pickup of foster kittens in the city at 6am and it’s just van after van of dogs being picked up for fostering. They’ve been crammed in a van from somewhere for days, and then they are being picked up by kind people here to try to get them adopted. Some of them are terrified, some of them seem relieved, I always hope for the best for them. I often think we don’t deserve dogs.
  8. Hope you guys can find one/rescue one from a shelter. I’m partial to all dogs, but a shelter dog is something else. When they realize that they are “free of that place,” they good so happy.
  9. I can’t fathom this team losing to MSU. I bet they wish they could get another crack at that game.
  10. Don’t care at all about the B1G tournament unless we need it to improve our seeding. I care about the NCAAT. With the way TJD is looking gassed, I’d prefer not to have to stumble through the farce of the B1G tournament. Hell, we can’t even provide capable refs for our games. Let’s get that shit done and move onto more important games.
  11. I think that they are so understaffed these days that you could send them a Bazooka Joe comic and they would be cool. In the meantime, NY State will be pulverizing me for missing three cents on a state return.
  12. Funny, as I was falling asleep I checked the score on my phone and we were up by 7 early. Went to sleep hopeful, but honestly not expecting the lead to hold at MSU. Sounds like TJD is gassed and our bench has disappeared. On to Purdue!
  13. Taped it, but sounds like I won’t be needing or wanting to watch. I thought this was pretty funny though on CBS Sports in the game recap:
  14. Gotta protect the golden boys. I have absolutely zero confidence this will amount to anything. Will be shocked, but pleased, if he sees any suspension or any type of blowback from this.
  15. This for sure. I always used to love getting a big refund until I realize I was just overpaying them and floating them a loan. Now we usually owe quite a bit, so they can wait.
  16. Also same. Don’t expect us to win both, and won’t be overreacting if we lose both.
  17. I always wait until the last day. They are not getting my money even one day earlier than the deadline.
  18. Did you say, “I hope so, as long as it’s a win”?
  19. My grandmother, who introduced me to IU basketball in 1975 has been in and out of an assisted living facility with heart failure issues. Her one non-negotiable issue has been access to IU games. She is a DIEHARD with capital letters IU fan. Every time I talk to her, we talk about IU. My dad and his aunt can not get her to stop watching the games. Basically, she has basically told them “If I can’t watch IU basketball, kill me now.”
  20. The way JHS turned it over and then went right back and nailed a mid-range jumper. “Onions” as Billy Packer would say!
  21. TJD owes that little ***** Coleman Hawkins a posterizing. Hoping we get them in the B1G tournament.
  22. My parents had a really sweet red Pinto back in the day. Interestingly enough, I listened to a “You’re Wrong About” podcast that corrected the historical version of the Pinto being more explosion prone than other cars of the time. My first car a green Gremlin that we called the “weed machine.” Gee, I wonder why…
