  1. Have been on a bit of a classic Case (for me that means 1970s- mid 1980s) kick recently. Just picked up this 1976 Stockman - love the “For Flesh Only” etching on the spey blade. Second pick shows most of the Case from the above era that I’ve picked up over the last couple of months. Lots of good condition knives out there, but the prices are definitely climbing. In the second pic, bottom row on the right side are two Case knives that were a collaboration with Tony Bose. I’m guessing people on an IU message board might know of Tony. LEGENDARY knife maker from Indiana (Wilfred), who breathed new life into traditional pocket knife patterns. His custom knives started at a couple thousand up to like $12K. What’s cool is that he started working with Case each year on a collaboration knife. He would give them two knives he built. One put together and one in pieces. Case gave those two knives to a small team of their best knife makers and they used those two examples to build a limited set of Case/Bose collab knives - usually in runs of about 100-300 per year. You can basically get a Tony Bose *this* close to custom for MUCH cheaper. These run about $400-500 if you can find them at list price, or up to $800 on Ebay. The finish and tolerances on these knives are insane. They just feel like quality in your hands. 2. It’s really interesting how things/collectibles go through phases and certain companies step in and reinvigorate the medium being collected. I’ve seen it happen in vinyl records many times the last several years. I know NOTHING about sports cards, but I do have a few dozen NFL cards from the mid 1970s (was obsessed with the LA Rams back then for some reason) that I can’t seem to part with. I like to look through them every once in awhile to remember those times. I am sure they are next to worthless, but I like having them.
  3. And Jeffries has a fishing show… Which is super cool.
  4. Jesus H Christ, I’m sorry I ever mentioned anything about TJD vs. Edey.
  5. Oh man, that is me behind a group of latte folks. It’s also why I hardly ever buy coffee when I’m out and about.
  6. Exactly, and I recall seeing your post and noting it. TJD will quickly share the ball to get a shot and therefore help to develop his supporting cast. Not to mention his ability to rebound, drive the ball down the entire court, and either score or score the assist. I’d like to see Edey do that. The more I think about it, the more ridiculous it seems to me to have such a one dimensional oaf as player of the year.
  7. Glad I’m not the only one who sees it. Sure Edey is an effective player, but it’s only b/c of his height. Dude has developed a shot, but that’s it. He’s not able to do anything else but shoot and rebound right by the basket. He’s boring and one dimensional, and I would add that I don’t see him doing the things TJD does to develop his team. One note, boring, tall dude from a boring one note school.
  8. This is all excellent, but I wanted to highlight your last paragraph. I’m excited about the two upcoming tournaments! Ha, I was exactly the same way. Thought I was going to enjoy a few beers and a nice easy win, but then damn… Pulled it out tin the end, but that was not the fun little romp I was expecting.
  9. It’s cool, we don’t have to agree. I think Edey is a force, but he’s not at TJD’s level overall. And TJD led his team to victory TWICE over Edey. And we beat that TEAM twice, once at their place. TJD led his team to beat that media darling team TWICE. TJD is a winner and Edey is really tall and had an easy schedule. So, I guess there’s that.
  10. Yeah, and I was being somewhat tongue in cheek about Edey just being tall. I’ve seen how much his shot has improved. But, I just think the media narrative is BS. TJD is a better player.
  11. I’ve never understood the talk of Edey WAY over TJD for POY. Their numbers are very close, and TJD is much more talented/well rounded. And on the other side, Edey is really tall. And on the court and on the scoreboard, TJD is 2-0 over Edey.
  12. This is another game that an Archie or Crean team would have folded in. We didn’t fold. We somehow out-toughed them in the end. Hell of a game, and hell of a season.
  13. Bummer that he’s not coming back for the tourney, but VERY happy to have XJ back next year. That’s a big deal.
  14. This is crazy dangerous, but lazy people are gonna lazy.
  15. Super cool! Seeing a lot more of this type of thing lately.
  16. Was just coming here to post that. Looking forward to tomorrow.
  17. Would love to avenge that MSU loss.
  18. I was/still am just so pissed b/c it was Iowa and Fran. I’m not used to teams disrespecting IU, but I guess if we let them then what can we do. I want players who will dominate/embarrass any team that dares to disrespect them. Like the old days. You gesture to our player or the crowd, and then next time we stomp you by 35 points. It’s also not lost on me that Iowa IS a good offensive team. But a good defensive team should be able to counterbalance.
  19. I’ve thought more about this loss and I still hate it. But this happens to pretty much every team at one point in a long season. They better come out of fire and pissed for MI though. Limping into the post-season with two at home losses would be VERY bad.
  20. Horrible performance. They should refund ticket holders for that crap.
  21. JHS is being schooled and made a fool. Time to man up. I’m going to go out and smoke a big fat bowl of weed at halftime. Can’t imagine watching this any other other way. Maybe if I can get my shit right, they will.
  22. BAD decision by Woodson to take TJD and JHS out as Iowa was switching to the zone. Hope this doesn’t cost us the game.
  23. Oh you definitely win. Well played.
  24. Somewhere Coach Shepp is weeping.
  25. Loved Elston, and love that he called out that little b*^ch.
