  1. He’s just such a douche and I don’t think he actually has any closely held beliefs (other than his beef with IU for not being handed a coaching job that he wasn’t qualified for in any way), just constantly trying to stir the pot and see what sticks.
  2. DD has always been a piece of trash to me. Can’t imagine why peoople put up with him for so long.
  3. The mid-range jumper that JHS immediately started shooting early this season was part of the reason I was really into him. We haven’t had many mid-range shooters lately and they are super effective - and harder for teams to guard against.
  4. I was not aware of that. But I’ll do that now. Thank you
  5. Is ESPN still a functioning website that gets updated? I rarely ever visit it, but I’m looking at the NCAAM home page and there are lots of newish stories, but nothing about the number one team being beaten. Sees like news to me, but what do I know.
  6. Ha, living this close to NJ does it.
  7. We were not at full strength for that game in Rutgers. I see a revenge game coming. Smack those dudes around a little and make them dizzy with all the threes raining down. Cant’ stand Rutgers.
  8. My heart was in my throat on that play too. Didn’t seem to phase him the rest of the game.
  9. Tuesday, Jan. 31 The balloon re-enters the United States over Idaho, to the surprise of officials at Northern Command as well as at the Pentagon. Gen. Mark A. Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, alerts President Biden. The president asks for military options, including the immediate destruction of the aircraft. Mr. Biden also orders that no activities or sensitive unencrypted communications would be conducted in the path of the balloon. And then there’s also this: “I told them to shoot it down,” President Biden told reporters in Hagerstown, Md., on his way to Camp David on Saturday afternoon. “They said to me, let’s wait until the safest place to do it.”
  10. Awesome win! I was watching on a delay, b/c I cannot stand the commercials. Just as I was really getting stressed out towards the end I get the following text from my father in law - an MSU grad.
  11. There will be some dumbass in our neighborhood buying this to ferry their kids the three blocks to school and back for sure.
  12. It’s insane. What they will grab onto to generate fake outrage. Have to keep us outraged over little things like this so we don’t notice them messing with actual things that will impact us all.
  13. I really wish I was joking about this, but nope. This is where some of us are as a society: Fox News personality Carlson dedicated a segment to the candies, saying “the woke M&M’s are back,” the green M&M “is now a lesbian maybe” and “there is also a plus-sized, obese purple M&M.” Conservative personality Nick Adams tweeted “every American with half a brain should be outraged by M&M’s going woke,” as “manhood is under attack like no other time in world history.” In a Monday announcement, M&M’s said it “didn’t expect” for the changes it had made to its spokescandies to “break the internet,” and noted “even a candy’s shoes can be polarizing,” which is the last thing the brand wanted, “since we’re all about bringing people together.” The spokescandies are being put on an “indefinite pause,” and are being replaced by comedian Maya Rudolph.
  14. Hate to say this, but maybe tape it to watch later. Need your ticker to be okay for our run to the Final Four this year!
  15. We are a nation of proud idiots. Too busy cryassing about the color/shape of M&Ms to seriously consider how far we are falling behind the rest of the world. We’ve got it perfectly set up for the left and right to argue amongst themselves while we fall apart.
  16. This is always something in the back of mind. After decades of not investing in infrastructure on any meaningful level, our power grids are sitting ducks for something like this. We have to be the “shitholeiest” rich country in the world. Tons of money for Wall Street, gas companies, and political campaigns, but no one wants to invest in infrastructure. Not sexy enough or annoying enough to your political enemies.
  17. Am excited that we get a chance to beat the #1 team on our home court. Not stressed about the game at all. I think we win it.
  18. Yep, good people in my experience. Bad government. I guess you could say the same thing about us in many respects. Am just sick of the constant crossing of lines and testing limits.
  19. Saw today’s front page on NYT and immediately thought of @mrflynn03 The balloon thing is very alarming, but the factories in Mexico are just as alarming to me. I am not anti-China or anti-any country really (other than Russia right now, b/c of Putin). I have three staff members from China who are in the US on visas, that I have helped them get. I think it’s a function of where I live, but I don’t really care where people came from as long as they are willing to work and contribute to society. Heck, a quarter of my staff are from outside of the US. BUT, I am sick of the Chinese govt. constantly pushing, prodding, and probing the rules/restrictions that countries are supposed to follow to maintain good relations. I am VERY strict on trying not to buy things from China though. Some of it’s unavoidable, but if you make an effort and are willing to spend more, you can avoid a lot of goods made in China. We need to make more things in the US period. I like USA made goods and am always willing to pay the made in USA price. I know that’s easy for a DINK like me, but we have got to stop buying so much throwaway Chinese junk in our society.
  20. Never have and the first reason is your second sentence. What to expect?
  21. Beautiful doberman! We had one growing up named Luke. He was a beautiful dog, but man he could clear a room with his farting.
  22. No, but what a cool story. Rags to riches indeed. It’s not. The Border Trilogy is the following: All the Pretty Horses The Crossing Cities of the Plain Like you, I had read The Road, but had never read these books for some reason. Highly recommended so far. Like I said, the second one (the Crossing) was a heck of a gut punch at the end. Still can’t stop thinking about it.
  23. Am feeling better about our chances here this weekend than the Turtles in MD.
  24. Ha, I wondered if you would surface here. But man, this book made me really invested in the old horse Nino. Don’t want to give any spoilers in case people have not read though. BUT the Border Trilogy is probably some of the best Westerns I’ve read.
