I've been delving into the privatization of water.  Some people who stand to profit don't think access to water is a public right. I'm convinced they would tax or charge us for air if they could.

Globally it's the scarcest commodity and the most important to sustaining life. Waterways are also our most vulnerable and fragile ecosystems.

It’s pretty crazy when you look into it. I refuse to buy bottled water for the most part, but never from Nestle brands.

It blows my mind that we have let them take a public commodity, and profit off of it to the extent that they have.

As woke tech companies preach to others about being green and sustainable, each of Google's average data centers uses 450,000 gallons of water per day to cool servers.

One Google city in Iowa used 845 million gallons of water in just one year.

Nationwide, it was 3.4 billion gallons in one year.

In Oregon, Google wants to tap the Columbia River for more water.

I understand large international companies require resources to function.  Just don't lecture others about the environment while you do it.

    https://www.theblaze.com/news/google-data-center-gobbled-up-nearly-300-million-gallons-of-oregon-citys-water-amidst-droughts

Data centers are very energy intensive. Even worse is crypto.

And that seems like a lot until you realize that Nestle siphoned off 45 million gallons from ONE creek in California in one year. This is Nestle taking water meant for all and packaging it for profit.

Or, Nestlé pumps more than 130 million gallons of water a year from one well near a northwestern Michigan town.

Add up all of these towns across the US to get the final number for Nestle. It FAR exceeds anything that Google could ever dream of consuming.

    We could be twins.

My wife is making sugar cookies right now, I’ll make sure she saves some for you, bro.

She’s not a huge fan, but knows how much I love Christmas. For several years, she would create fairly elaborate advent calendars that included types of cookies, movies to watch, holiday-related things, and other things she knew I would like.

I finally told her to stop doing those, b/c it looked like a LOT of work.

When you click on a website and you have to wait for all of the advertisements to load before you see the page! Then as you try reading, the page keeps jumping around as new advertisements load?

And to keep it on topic - yep, I hate this on both ESPN and CBS Sportsline. The way the page jumps once the ads load. They have made it where you have to wait for the stupid ad to load before trying to find the NCAAM scores. Have mistakenly clicked on their stupid gambling or car ads so many times when I’m in a hurry.

  4. I don’t collect duck stamps or hunt, but I read a really cool book about the history and the crazy details over the annual art contests.

    This is the book:

My father-in-law is one of those dudes that has everything that he could possibly want/need, so that Xmas I tracked down duck stamps on Ebay that were the years of his birth, and that of my mother-in-laws, my wife, and her brother. So four stamps from their birth years. Was neat tracking them down on Ebay.

Since I don't already have enough stuff to spend money on I've started expanding my collection into Military Payment Certificates.  Issued from 1946-1973 to pay troops serving overseas.  First one arrived today. I just think theyre neat, and they aren't expensive.

    Series 692 was issued 1970-73

Those are pretty cool. Would be neat if they have the years of disbursement on it.

Ok, I will give Qdoba another shot. I had it once.. wasn't a fan at all. Absolutely love Chipotle and Moe's though.

I don't really consider TB all that close to the other three mentioned here. jmo

I do love Moe’s as well, but we only have one of those and it’s in a super touristy area. I don’t think TB belongs in the same conversation as Moe’s, Qdoba, or Chipotle. For me it’s strictly late-night drunk food. And that occasion doesn’t arise that much in my life now like it used to!

Add queso to whatever you get. It’s sooooo good. Get the Diablo queso if you like spice.

The Qdoba queso is incredible. I don’t know what Chipotle thinks they are using, but it’s not queso to me.

  7. Qdoba is my favorite over TB and Chipotle. unfortunately all of ours have closed down.

Their potato, egg, and queso breakfast burrito is insanely good.

Back when I lived and worked in downtown Indy, I would go to the downtown one about twice a week. The woman would always jam pack it with salty fried potatoes and scrambled eggs, b/c I didn’t order meat in mine. Am now craving one…

Chinese are setting up police stations in other countries.  Over 100 of them all over the world.

I am not surprised that these exist, but they should not. I’m sure they have them in NYC right under the NYPD’s noses.

The reasons they give for them are not legit though, that’s what embassies are there for.

  9. I’m a pretty big fan of Christmas season. Love the lights, the food, the warm childhood memories.

Grew up in a household that didn’t have a lot, but my parents went out of their way to make the season fun and memorable for me.

Love Charlie Brown Xmas - also have the vinyl album from Vince. Love Christmas Vacation and Elf.

  10. Hard to win when you give up a 17-0 run early. Arizona is a VERY good team and I was pleasantly surprised that we actually kept competing.

Loved Race hitting those threes and Bates looked great out there.

I feel like there was a time late in the second half where we hit a bunch of threes, but AZ hit like 5 or 6 in a row. I feel like they resemble a Euro pro league team more than college.

In our only 2 non-conference games vs P6 competition this year (Xavier, UNC), XJ has played very well. Jalen had a great game against UNC, but not very effective vs Xavier...

An improving Galloway and Bates make me believe we'll be ok in this one...

Could be a big game for Galloway. Also hoping Kopp is on target. And I feel like we really need the old Race back for this game.

  12. This reminds me of the people in front of you at a store at the register who somehow forgot the whole “I have to pay for this” part. Cashier is done. We are all staring, and then it’s like “Oh, let me get my wallet out now.”

Have that stuff ready my dude.
