  1. But they’re not accountable to the coach. The star players are all buddies with Jerry, so it’s a country club culture. That wasn’t the case when Jimmy and Parcells were there. And Will McClay is the real talent evaluator/GM. If his son moves away for college, he’ll likely take an actual GM job somewhere.
  2. Jerry gives out more injury info in one of his weekly Dallas sports radio hits than Belichick gave out in 24 years as the Pats coach.
  3. I don’t know if it’s humility, or if he just can’t stand not being in the middle of it. He hated every minute of Parcells being in charge of everything. He doesn’t want to watch someone else play with his toy - HE wants to play with his toy.
  4. No. Quinn’s defense always gets slaughtered by the shananan tree guys.
  5. I always wondered if Canada was pushing for/vouching for Pickett.
  6. I want Jerry to fire MMC and get Vrabel. Or maybe let him coach one more year and get Tomlin next offseason, if Mike doesn’t extend his deal. Jerry’s main problem is Dak isn’t the guy, if you want to go to Super Bowls. But, they have to redo his contract this offseason or swallow a $60 million cap number for 2024. Which would mean cutting several good players.
  7. He’s a knucklehead ? are we blaming Nick for all 9 catches and 190 yards ?
  8. I think Gus is OK. Rick Venturi disagrees, wants him to come up with more game specific plans each week. Like, “make someone other than Nico Collins beat you”, for example.
  9. Wink Martindale? 180 degrees from ole soft zone Gus.
  10. I thought maybe I missed some news. Anyway, I think Vrabel will have his pick of HC jobs.
  11. Another way to look at it: The reason you can keep adding high draft picks around him year after year is the same reason that he isn’t the guy: he doesn’t win.
  12. And pick up his 5th year option at $25 million? Poles already passed on 1 superstar QB, can’t imagine he does it a 2nd time.
  13. Like the Bears with Fields, time to “Fish” or cut bait…
  14. I think he’s more in the $20 million a year range.
  15. Pittman has Ballard over the barrel now. They have so few weapons without him, as we saw a couple weeks back.
  16. Maybe you don’t put your entire season in the hands of a guy who has been on active roster for less than a month.
  17. So we need OT, a CB1 and a WR1. Agree to disagree on having a stud edge. And S, LB, and RB if Moss leaves. No game breakers at TE either.
  18. Ballard isn’t terrible, he’s just the definition of mediocre: .500 record, no division titles in 7 years, ONE playoff win in 7 years… Had a chance to move up in the draft for a generational quarterback and instead he sat on his hands and our division rivals got him and we get to play against him 30+ times… I would give him one more year to win a division, win a 2nd playoff game, and address the glaring holes at the most important positions on a football team.
  19. you don’t think that this roster has a lot of holes, at the most important positions, for a GM going into year 8?
