  1. At what point do the B1G and SEC bail and start their own organization, to get out from under that liability?
  2. I hope it is. Seems out of character for Joshie tho.
  3. Seemed to me he mostly wanted to play with his college teammate Carr. Then Carr almost immediately got sent packing, which is why you don’t make big decisions like that based on wanting to play with 1 player, at least not in the NFL. They have to trade him now, but they missed the trade deadline so now they will probably get less for him in the offseason. What a mess.
  4. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/38791663/josh-mcdaniels-fired-las-vegas-raiders-bad-decisions-legacy-rebuild OK after reading this, I raise my grade on Ballard from a C+ to a B. Raiders have hired 2 GMs in a row that are way worse. Edit: just remembered Ballard hired McDaniels. Back down to a C+.
  5. They don’t hang banners for division titles in San Fran… What doesn’t make any sense is the Commanders traded Sweat also. Are they trying to tank now ?
  6. Niners get Chase Young for a 3rd. Going for it.
  7. As a Colts or Viking fan, you have to look for the silver lining: the Cowboys ended up with Parsons, and the Niners ended up with Bosa as a result of their QBs suffering season ending injuries.
  8. Flip side is, everyone will now get to see how good the Vikings are without him, or how good they aren’t. Could end up like Dak’s broken ankle in 2020, showing how bad the Cowboys were without him, actually increasing Dak’s leverage in negotiations….
  9. Every team is missing players. That’s reality. That’s why you have 53 spots.
  10. If every team had everybody, everyone would be fine. That’s just not reality in this league. Really good rosters don’t have 2-3 bad corners at the bottom.
  11. Literally everyone but Ballard knew we were woefully thin at corner going into the season. Doesn’t help that he has basically whiffed at the position in the draft since he’s been here…Quincy, Rock, Rush, etc…
  12. Sure, all teams have injuries 8 weeks in. I’m just pointing out that when you have poor depth at corner, you are going to get points scored on you in this league, no matter who the DC is. Unless you have a great pass rush, and we don’t.
  13. When you give a DC a bunch of stiffs like Jones, Brown and Baker as his “cornerbacks”, what do you expect? It ain’t the Xs and the Os, it’s the Jimmies and the Joes…
  14. They have their coach and their QB, and a bunch of solid players in the starting 22. Need to add a true WR1, a lockdown corner, and maybe an edge rusher.
  15. Yup. Lots of filler at the bottom of this roster. For a great talent evaluator, you’d expect more after 7 drafts.
  16. Really 3 corners since Moore is a slot corner. And jury is out on Jones too, IMO. He just looks OK to me so far. Little stiff. And Freeland just hasn’t been good overall, which is what I would expect from a rookie mid round pick. Hopefully the starting 5 can get and stay healthy. Point is, the 53 man roster has filler at the bottom, and very little elite talent at the top. But they have their coach and QB finally, and some nice pieces from the 2023 draft, and that’s a great place to build from. Maybe AR getting hurt will allow them to get another nice draft next year.
  17. Rodgers wasn’t an injury. He’s just a knucklehead. Colts should have never counted on him. Raimann has been fine this year. Hopefully Freeland gets there also. All NFL teams have good DLs…
  18. They’ve had 2 injuries at corner. That happens. If you’re playing 3 corners you need to have 5-6 you are confident in. Freeland has not played well, in my opinion. Maybe he’ll improve over the years as he gains experience. Depth at WR and DT not good. Hopefully no injuries there. S, DE and TE have nice depth, even though they are lacking elite talent.
  19. Well we lost because our depth at OT, DT, and CB isn’t good. Depth at WR is not good either, but luckily no injuries. Yet. Downs is a stud tho. They need to consult with Reggie on WR prospects more often.
  20. I respect your opinion, but it seems we’ll never know for sure.
  21. PJ has enough arm to throw a fade into the end zone from the 25 yard line off his back foot. Baker got cooked and he knew it, so he stuck out his left arm to slow him down. If PJ was hit before that contact, then yeah the colts got screwed twice. Moral of the story: Shouldn’t have let PJ friggin Walker drive into your red zone in 45 seconds.
  22. I haven’t seen definitive proof the ball was fumbled before he impeded Cooper with his left arm. Maybe you have it. If so, great. Here’s a better way to put it: He committed defensive fouls that required him to be bailed out by SOMEONE else: his teammate, Walker throwing a terrible pass, or the refs swallowing their whistle.
  23. The first one was the definition of illegal contact- even Kevin Bowen said this- unless the fumble happened first. 2nd one was ridiculous. But the point is Baker committed 2 fouls and needed to get bailed out by the refs. He wasn’t.
  24. You can’t draw that conclusion from what Irsay said.
  25. I respectfully disagree. Cooper made a quick cut to the outside and Baker stuck out his left arm to slow him down. Would be nice if they could use replay to see if it was before or after the fumble. The 2nd call was the horrendous one in my opinion. Why even have the “uncatchable” language in the rule if you don’t use it there?
