Ballard isn’t terrible, he’s just the definition of mediocre: .500 record, no division titles in 7 years, ONE playoff win in 7 years… Had a chance to move up in the draft for a generational quarterback and instead he sat on his hands and our division rivals got him and we get to play against him 30+ times… I would give him one more year to win a division, win a 2nd playoff game, and address the glaring holes at the most important positions on a football team.

What’s really annoying is those clowns spent $30 million on that 2022 recruiting class, and this kid was a four star recruit, 10 minutes from the aTm campus - and they didn’t want him !!

At the very least there needs to be contracts. If aTm wants him, they have to pay Purdue for him, like a transfer fee in soccer.

Yes. In fact, not only are all of their scholarships already taken, we are oversigned by 1, so an additional underclassman will have to transfer out. With the advent of the NIL Free Agency Portal, Painter has changed his position on oversigning.

Could he walk on, and use part of his $1 Million + in NIL to pay his tuition ? OR: How much would Kansas offer him next season, if they are paying Dickinson $2 million dollars this season ?

It’s interesting how many fans think players automatically get the Covid year at their current school. They are eligible to get it SOMEWHERE, but their current school isn’t obligated to give it to them. Gillis, Edey and Morton all could get one, but it won’t be at Purdue.

I think it’s less regressing, and more that the last few Purdue teams have returned mostly intact from the previous year. And conversely, 90% of other teams have lots of new players. It takes them a few months to gel and become the best version of themselves , whereas Purdue is much closer to a finished product at the beginning of the season than almost everyone else. Just my two cents. Oh and the 2 freshmen definitely hit the wall In February last year. Hopefully that doesn’t happen this season.
