  1. No, I think the 6 missed calls/game is really good, but I dont believe the number. I would love to sit in these meetings to see what they are saying. Does this include every play where a foul wasn't called and should have been? Or is it just when the whistles were blown and anything egregious outside of that? This is where I am more concerned. There are more than 6 missed calls per game, at least for how I would want the games to be called. Meaning, the bigger issue is that the B1G doesn't see a problem in general with how the games are officiated. So nothing will change.
  2. Now that has me more concerned. It's a bigger issue than just the officials.
  3. It does indeed. Is this recent? I thought ohhh even like 5 years ago B1G had it's own officials? are you going to blow my mind and Mandela Effect my butt right now?
  4. sounds like some people need their ballets taken away lol.
  5. I couldn't handle it mentally, and I sure as poo poo wouldn't come here for advice as a player or coach lol
  6. fair enough. wonder how often that happens, head officials of games or just the third guy? Do the head officials travel interleague like that? IDK just seems like the B1G is officiated differently, and i figured most of that was from the continuity of the officials.
  7. I agree with this in part. I even is there arent B1G officials and they are subcontractors. The still use the same officials from the same pool. 1 ref is not going to officiate an SEC game on Monday, B1G on Tuesday, ACC Wednesday. The same officials are used, they have these built in pre conceived notions and perceptions that carry over from game to game. The home court does has some impact IDK how much that is though.. But that doesnt explain when Edey goes on the road and gets the same coddling. or XJ being reviewed the other night that was not even close to being needed. I think their are coaches that can work officials better than others.
  8. That sounds great, but i would think some NIL deals are, at least in part tied to presence of social media. I know I see posts all of the time with some player advertising something.
  9. you're not helping your credibility cause by complaining the refs should have called more fouls in favor of Purdue. TKR portion gets cut off. defender seems to be hands up. Edey part... shove is exaggerating. he's riding his back. this is typical when a shot goes up. nothing burger.
  10. i could be WAAAAAAY off base here, but i think perception carries way too much weight from game to game within the conference. When tournament time comes, the officials dont give a rat's tushy about perception, and that's a part of the demise of Purdue, and really the conference within the tournament.
  11. hahahahahaha that doesnt make it any better. I think that should have been a flagrant with the video. The defender has a right to that space, and actually stood his ground. Edey couldn't move him. He took his off arm, not attached to the ball making a basketball move and elbowed the dude in the head. BTW Edey's amazing footwork. he took 7 steps and moved a foot for a semi fall away shot.
  12. I would love for indiana to get a mascot. Not sure what it would be, but in general a brand change is not right, but a refresher. candy stripe end zones new helmets mascot retire jerseys for basketball ring of honor for football idk... something new to celebrate.
  13. knee jerk reaction of immediate implementation rather than taking time to plan it and roll it out. To be fair the NCAA was forced to and now they are trying to pick up the pieces and govern the shitty hand they were dealt. Everyone is doing it. FSU just got caught and apparently Tennessee now. Even with the enforcement, it is still going to continue.
  14. A couple of excerpts from an article. I'm not sure Sampson is a "scapegoat" here. Then you throw in the rumors on top of the actual reporting below. Multiple sources close to the team assert that marijuana use was common among a group of players, some of whom were made to take part in a drug counseling program set up by the athletic department. Despite a wealth of academic support, the team's collective grade-point average plummeted from 2.89 in the fall semester to 2.13 in the spring, when players were cutting classes. According to Eric Gordon Sr., his son "didn't get involved in the smoking and partying" and, as a result, felt alienated from some of his teammates. Likewise senior co-captain D.J. White rarely spent time around his fellow players away from the court. "The kids weren't on the same page," says Gordon Sr. "They didn't have similar backgrounds or experiences or goals, and basically all hell broke loose." In hopes of mitigating a likely NCAA sanction and having the violations characterized as secondary rather than major, IU then took the preemptive step of forfeiting a basketball scholarship for the 2008-09 season. Sampson was deprived of a $500,000 raise but remained on the job The NCAA outlined five major violations committed by Sampson and his staff. The NCAA did not take kindly to Sampson's alleged fabrications to the investigators nor to his status as a repeat offender. Crean says, he showed up at an academic progress meeting and learned that team members were carrying a total of 19 F's. After a May hearing in Seattle, the NCAA downgraded one of the five major charges to a secondary violation but alleged another major infraction against Indiana, the dreaded "failure to monitor" charge.
  15. abort the mission? sorry I had to.
