  1. Let’s not rehash this again. It’s all about if they are going to start paying the money. They have all the cash with the new contract they just need to spend it. Not expecting urban but they can find a good power 5 coach and pay him solid money to be committed to the team. It’s all on what the AD wants to invest.
  2. We have done that enough, time to change it up. No more unproven coaches or hopeful up and comers. Time to make IU less of a stepping stone And pay and act like a BIG program worth a damn.
  3. Solid drive, nice use of Sorsby there on the run. Good Oline play there too.
  4. This is fair but I think the BIG 12 is easier than the BIG will be next year. I think increasing the odds with a more proven recruiter that can instantly bring talent in would make me personally feel better. Hell pay Leopold to come here 😂
  5. 😂 I clearly am out of it. Thanksgiving lol
  6. Fire him, line up about $7million for the Utah coach.
  7. Student already out on spring break. They were giving away free tickets to students but most left town. I would be there but had family obligations.
  8. All I am saying is even a home run hire isn’t a guaranteed improvement to the program. But a move to a small time school coach is pretty much lowest chance of success. Like I said the other day can’t keep playing checkers while all our competition is playing chess.
  9. Miama wanting to hire him as OC means not the step we need to take IMO. Maybe if they wanted him as HC. No more MAC coaches. Most likely will fail and if he is decent to good he will be gone in a few years. Pass.
  10. https://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/38906329/coaching-buzz-ranking-open-college-football-jobs Indiana: A buyout of around $20 million for seventh-year coach Tom Allen and the team's recent improved play could be enough to prevent a change in Bloomington. Allen could use a win or two to finish out, though, as Indiana faces two 3-7 teams in Michigan State (home) and Purdue (road). IU has played well the past three weeks, but has only one win to show for it. If the Hoosiers decide to pay Allen's buyout, Toledo coach Jason Candle and others likely would enter the mix for one of the Big Ten's toughest jobs. I think it backs my point I have been making. IU needs to spend like they have never spent before. The toughest job in the BIG isn’t going to do it with more MAC up and comers. The reporter knows exactly who IU will go after though if they dump CTA. Have to go for a home run to make any waves in the BIG going forward. Even that may fail but I don’t see the Toledo head coach moving the needle.
  11. I had to look it up it was annoying the crap out of me. From Wikipedia: For many years, Wright State's sports teams used a character called Rowdy Raider as their mascot; a red-bearded Viking with a horned helmet, which emerged in 1986, a role played by Andrew "Legend" Winchek Jr. In 1997, the Viking was retired, and the Wolf was born. In 2007, Rowdy Raider received a new update for the mascot suit; a gray wolf that replaced the original brown wolf as the main mascot.
  12. I’ll be interested to see him match up against Edey.
  13. Can someone tell me why their mascot on the score is a wolf but on the jersey it’s a Viking?
  14. Late notice but anyone want tickets to the game tonight if you’re in town? Just realized I can’t go. DM me and get ready to head over there 😂 .
  15. I guarantee they won’t lose to Michigan next year 😁
  16. As a stats guy I love this, thanks for posting. I will be really interested in the treads as the season plays out.
  17. Again that shows you don’t get it. All college athletics start and stop with the success of the football team. Investing in basketball is great but the most money is in football.
  18. You clearly don’t get it. Plenty of money is a fart in the wind for the teams you listed above. They would come of IU put out $10 million a year and a serious commitment to make the team better. IU has never done anything remotely close to that.
  19. Never made an investment in a real coach or coaching staff. Go hire Jimbo, throw cash at Urban, have the balls to hire Briles. Go get the Utah coach. It’s the same because until IU starts acting like a power 5 player they never will be one. I am all for the relegation idea in college football. Risk IUs tv money in football in the BIG if they don’t show success. Make them start actually treating the program like the power 5 program it’s supposed to be.
  20. That’s the kind of attitude that will make what you say true. Half those teams aren’t far off from being not elite a few years ago. They make the changes and invest the money, that’s the real issue.
  21. Not if they keep playing checkers while others play chess
  22. I posted about this in the postgame thread with so many talking about the CTA buyout being too big. Our power SEC and BIG peers are doing anything they can to win, and this is a prime example. 12 playoff spots next year and I know a few weeks ago 10/12 of the playoff teams from the rankings would be SEC/BIG teams if it was 2024. IU cannot stand by while our peers keep making big moves to be ready for the new landscape of college football.
  23. Jimbo Fisher with record $76 million buyout. I get they are a more storied FB program but a prime example of where our football power 5 peers are at.
