There is plenty of money to buy him out and hire a good coach. The revenue is off the charts for the TV contract now. As long as they let the money stay with football and don’t give it to the geology dept again.

It will be a disaster to head into the 2024 season with 4 new BIG teams with quality programs to not make a change to try and compete with a new staff. But I will say a meh hire isn’t worth making a change, it needs to be someone experienced and with some kind of name and resume. Would love to see them go after the Utah coach.

I got season tickets this year. Them adding reserve seating was perfect and the cost was quite reasonable. Also love that like football you can do group seating. Very well done and I am sure generating record revenue for the year from tickets.

I wasn’t sure he was a potential long term solution at QB but he’s definitely growing as a QB and to your point has time to really be something good

I was at the game and this is spot on about the crowd. They were begging for something and once they got it they went crazy and no doubt feed the players effort. It was a great feel for game one. We are going to. Red that all year from the crowd.

The first team looked rough that first exhibition game. I thought they looked better today. I’d like to think they can come out in half 2 and fix a few things and show they are the best team. Feels like IU should be up by at least 10, if not more.

Student section is packed on the main level, love to see that!

I will be there. Really want a Ben’s pretzel tonight but they won’t come over to the Hall until home football games are over. Im curious if the start time is better or worse for the Indy crowd that travels down. I also know my kid that’s a freshman had to give up their ticket because they have class. Gave it to a friend but I wonder how many others will potentially have class they cannot skip. I agree with some of the posts above, this game will not be a pushover and I think a good crowd will help energize the team. In particular their first real home game for many players.

I picked 4-8. My optimism well is dry after decades of having something in the tank. I am usually a glass half full guy but I just don’t have it in me anymore. Hope they prove me wrong.

I will never forget storming across campus with my fellow IU students the day you got fired. Hearing the stories of IU basketball and coach from my uncle when he went to IU. Will always be a part of my IU history. RIP Coach

Just because the starters won’t change doesn’t mean you won’t see a different lineup at the end of games. No ways Cupps stays off the floor with that effort. I could see coach doing what he did today and have both him and XJ on the floor. Both played great D.

I don’t know if it came through on the TV feed but the crowd gave mad love to the 2nd unit in the last half. Cup and Walker were spark plugs and seemed ready to give their all. Sparks was great in the first half. I see a lot of changes coming to the first team of that effort imbalance stays. Just one exhibition game but it was clear who came with the energy.

I would save Dexter for Wisconsin next weekend. No reason to trot him out to the bloodbath at PSU for his first game back.

I am going to make a general statement as I don’t want to get in the conversation going on and I think is relevant to general understanding of the issue. That Jiffy treat is literally right next to the TB. Odds are TB employees likely park in that lot as it’s adjacent and has a section people can park right next to the TB property. I think it’s important to note, whether being told he was being arrested or not, that moving to that lot didn’t do anything to remove him from the situation IMO.

Easy way to pay for the buyout. Double the cost of all parking passes. They were all full today and will co to ie to be while the team sucks. Make more revenue off the people in the grass lots to get a better team to get them to actually go to the game. The grass lots were full super early from what I am told. The bodies are there they just need to give the non diehards a reason to go in

Like I mentioned in the last post game thread I just think IU needs a coach with some baggage that would come here and make an impact. Also I think a lot of people thought Mack Brown was too old for UNC and that seems to have worked. Urban Meyer is not happening but another example. Someone is going to hire him IMO if he still wants to coach and they show the money. If not them trying to think of any other potentially last run or baggage coaches coaches that could work.
