  1. Former Hoosier Nate Sudfield with a 39 yard TD on his first pass of the preseason for the 49ers.
  2. Jets starting QB Zach Wilson injured his knee tonight. Question is whether that will make them better or worse.
  3. That will ruin a career, both on the field and in off the field marketability.
  4. Again, you don't bring Votto back for $25MM, but he's not going to get that anywhere. But, paying him $5M to be a part-time DH would be good for the team.
  5. And, if he hits .290 with 30 homers next season, what will you say? Figure out whose stat line I posted above comparing their age 40 and age 41 years?
  6. Scott, how in the world can you complain yesterday about the Reds getting rid of Pham, Naquin, and Drury (rebuilding moves) and then turn around today and complain that they aren't rebuilding by hanging onto Votto. Let's be clear. No one, and I mean NO ONE is saying we give Votto an extension at $25MM a year. But, if they can get him to sign for a couple of team friendly one year contracts, have him be part of a DH platoon, and give him a chance to be in the playoffs 2-3 years down the line if the Reds younger core comes through why wouldn't they? I would certainly rather give that opportunity to Votto over Tommy Pham. But, apparently you think Pham is the one that deserves the opportunity to be the veteran presence when that happens.
  7. Let me check the last time the Rays, Indians, Twins, or A's have won the World Series and I'll get back to you.
  8. And, last season, het hit 36 homers, had 99 RBI's and an OPS+ of 138, all in only 129 games. Which season is more indicative of who he has been for his career? Banning the shift next year could be significant for him as well. Sometimes even the greatest have down years and bounce back. Try and guess who the following stat line belongs to. The first column is age, The other columns are fairly easy to figure out. I blocked out the team information.
  9. I am allowed a lot of flexibility when it comes to going in the office, but I actually prefer doing so versus working from home. The final video imbedded in the story link below is actually pretty cool. It shows the robot removing one of the devices. Caution that you may want to mute as there is a very annoying sound (I assume coming from the robot). https://www.wlky.com/article/suspicious-package-shuts-down-streets-downtown-louisville/40880264
  10. News coming out that the devices (plural) were marked 'Bomb 1' and 'Bomb 2'.
  11. Those RedZoners are a different breed, That board and this one are totally different. This board (HSN) seems to be full of posters that it would be fun to grab a barstool and shoot the breeze with. The RedZone crew seems to be a much less engaging crew. A lot of the regulars come across as know-it-all types.
  12. Louisville this morning. Just starting my day at work in Louisville when a co-worker mentioned the police were starting to block streets downtown. Went down to the scene to investigate and while the police wouldn't share a lot of details, I heard enough to know I didn't want to be downtown today. So, I left the office and decided to work from home the rest of the day. Anyway, turns out there seems to have been some sort of explosive device under a bus stop 5 cylinders with protruding wires were recovered by a robot. After the robot placed them in a blast proof container, the containers were inspected by guys in Hazmat suits. FBI has taken over the investigation, Hearing that soon after I left, many office buildings in the were put on shelter in place. Glad I got out while a could. https://www.wdrb.com/news/investigation-of-suspicious-package-in-downtown-louisville-blocks-streets-during-morning-rush/article_36db531a-1a3b-11ed-b1e2-6769a163c300.html
  13. Could not disagree more. Votto deserves to be a Red (at a reduced rate) when they are contenders again. If in no other capacity than as a part time and/or platoon DH. The man is an organizational treasure.
  14. You get two sticks and you stir it in both directions.
  15. If I'm back-end of first round, I prefer it to be 11 or 12. With 9 or 10, it often seems like the 2nd guy i want is gone. This, year, I really, really like the options that should be available in the 3 spots surrounding the round 2/3 wheel. So, I'm hoping I get top 3 pick in at least 1 of the HSN leagues. Had 7 and 9 last year. Did not like either one.
  16. Trent Green.....Kurt Warner The injured QB thing played out well for the Rams before.
  17. 2 players should be redshirted. It's not efficient to have a half-dozen players averaging less than 10 minutes a game.
  18. I cant stand Coors Light. Way down on the list of things I would drink.
  19. So, a lot of the preseason prognosticators seem to have IU on the top line of their conference predictions. Maybe I'm overly skeptical based on recent performance, but I'm having a hard time buying into that. What does everyone else think?
  20. Justin Jefferson is the best WR. If he had Aaron Rodgers throwing to him the last two years, his numbers would be staggering.
  21. That is a hell-of a strikeout to walk ratio........for a pitcher.
  22. Maybe without all those innings, Ryan could have pitched longer instead of having his career cut short at age 46.
