  1. The 'Fighting Sampsons' of Houston rose up and slayed the Saints of Our Lady of The Lake by a score of 112-46. Though obviously undermanned, the Saints could do one thing well. They went 13-14 from the line. Wonder what IU's record would be with some 13-14 days from the line. And, kudos for Houston to go out and find such a challenging opponent. What.....the 7th grade team at Franklin Middle School was booked?
  2. Here are tonight's scores Girls. indiana high school scores (homestead.com) Boys indiana high school scores (homestead.com)
  3. Probably girls games Scott. I don't think there are many boys games being played tonight because of girls sectionals.
  4. The girls 3A Regional next week in Charlestown will likely have 3 of the Top 5 teams in the rankings. Unfortunately, either #1 or #2 won't be there (Silver Creek or Salem), as they will likely face each other in the Sectional championship tomorrow night. The winner of that game should get your Memorial team in the first game of the Regional.
  5. Bengals? Wait, you said something about the Super Bowl. Never mind.
  6. One time, when my daughter was 5 years old, we were playing putt-putt. I had to penalize her a stroke 3 different times for picking up her ball before she finished the hole. I would have beaten her anyway, but it would have been a lot closer without those penalties.
  7. AstraZeneca vaccine may slow virus transmission (msn.com) If it does also slow transmission, that's very big.
  8. It adds a lot of excitement when there are 5 seconds or less.
  9. Stupid, stupid plays at the end of the game.
  10. Watching the Purdue game. One rule that I wish college would adopt is getting the ball at halfcourt after a timeout at the end of the game.
  11. Trevion Williams has become a heckuva basketball player.
  12. And, I was going to do it again, but you just stole my thunder.
  13. This one surprises me and concerns me. Report: Many US nursing home staff decline first COVID shots - ABC News (go.com) The CDC looked at more than 11,000 nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities that had at least one vaccination clinic between the middle of December and the middle of January. The researchers found that while 78% of residents got at least one shot, only 37.5% of staff members did.
  14. Oddly enough, one thing I regularly see on the shelf now is hand sanitizer.
  15. The final score tells a big story. Silver Creek was comfortably ahead for the first 3 quarters, but after a quick start in the 1st quarter, Bloomington South slowly imposed their tempo on Silver Creek. South took control with a 10-1 run to open the 4th. SC is best when the score is in the 70's and 80's. A grind it out game like that plays into the hands of the opponent. Just a couple of weeks ago, Bloomington North (who is actually more highly rated than South this year), tried to run with SC and got drilled. Silver Creek has many of the same problems as IU, Ft Shooting, 3 point shooting, inconsistent defense, occasional sloppy ball handling, and inconsistent offense from the complimentary players.. Last night, Free throws were huge. SC attempted a lot more than South, but where South made almost all of theirs, SC missed several, especially in the 4th quarter, Kaufman had 14 of those 18 in the first half.
  16. Silver Creek point guard, Branden Northern, who has a D1 offer himself, is now out with a broken hand. Will be out for about 4 weeks. Kaufman played PG most of the game. If Northern plays, Kaufman dominates the paint an SC wins. That said, South has played all season without Conner Hickman. Do. SC cant play the injury card. For whatever reason, SC is not the same team as last year. Their best 3 point shooter from last season elected not to play this year. Teams are sagging on th he inside game. Their Big 3, Kaufman, Jacobi, and Northern have only played 3 or 4 games together this season. It has totally messed up with team chemistry. I don't see SC making a deep run if things don't significantly improve.
  17. It shouldn't take public backlash. This totally boggles my mind that it was considered to the point it was. And, honestly, I have no doubt that that will 'secretly' receive the vaccine before I do.
  18. Let's add Guantanamo Bay prisoners to those that will likely get vaccinated before the average American. Included is one of the principal architects of 9/11. Seriously, who the f#*# in the U.S. government would even consider giving Gitmo prisoners the vaccine before every single American citizen that wanted one received it first. Whoever came up with that idea needs to be fired right now. Plan to vaccinate Guantanamo Bay detainees against Covid-19 has been paused - CNNPolitics
  19. Looks like he's a year older than most high school kids that would be entering the draft. If he goes to IU. that makes him older when he is college draft eligible as well. I think that works against him ever playing for IU.
  20. I am 55 years old, and have an underlying condition. But, I have no doubt that many professional athletes, Hollywood Stars, and 22 year-old interns in the governor's office will be vaccinated before me.
