  1. Bloomington North was his best game of the season. I think he finished with a line of 35/10/7. He has struggled from 3 point range this season. Made 2-4 against Bloomington North, but was 0-6 the night before. Only 22% on the year. He also broke Steve Green's school career scoring record on Saturday night. The record had stood since 1971, and Green's mark will be passed again in the next few games as Kooper Jacobi is only about 50-60 behind Green himself. Strange to have a record last 50 years and get broken twice within a 2-3 week time-frame.
  2. I would never discount the usual suspects from the Indy Metro area. Lawrence North and Carmel are the two most likely candidates this season. But. really, with the gauntlet those teams face game in and game out, you can't count out any team, as they are usually better prepared than teams from other parts of the state come tournament time.
  3. Purdue enjoyed a 33-13 FT advantage today. That helps when you win by 8.
  4. Was never a Chiefs fan before Mahomes. Love me some Chiefs now.
  5. The majority have been open looks. Sitting at 1-18 with 25 seconds left in half.
  6. Boilers now 1-16 from 3 at the under 4 timeout.
  7. Seriously. Purdue is 0-12 from 3 at the under 8 timeout in the first half after looking like the Splash Brothers against us.
  8. John Beilein is announcing on the PU / PSU game as well.
  9. Penn State and Purdue are a combined 0-21 from the 3 point line with 9 minutes left in first half.
  10. Homestead is a legit 4A championship contender. With Blackhawk the likely winner in 2A, could be a great year for high school hoops in Fort Wayne.
  11. Silver Creek with a very impressive 94-74 win over Bloomington North. The first time all season that they seemed to really put it all together.
  12. Indiana went to 6 classes in 2013. Since then, no school outside of the Indy Metro has won the 6 A state title. Before that, in the days of 5 classes, the last non-Indianapolis area team to win a championship in what was the largest class at that time was Penn in 2000. The moral of the story is that, if you are a large school in Indiana, but not in Marion or one of the adjoining counties, you are not winning a State Title in football.
  13. A mass on the kidney is not a good thing. My daughter had one as a small child. If cancerous, masses on the kidney are prone to spread.
  14. It will be very mixed. Some will always love him from his IU days. Others will feel a great amount of betrayal. Betrayal can often bring about stronger emotions than love

  16. The more I think about this, the more I believe there has to be more to the story. Why haven't we heard about other instances like this throughout the world? My guess is that there may have been something wrong with the way the vaccine was administered. It was the Pfizer vaccine, which has to be temperature controlled. Maybe it was mishandled along the way.
  17. Former IU player Sherron Wilkerson is head coach at Madison. His Cubs beat New Albany for the first time since 1999 last night. Madison and New Albany are both in the Hoosier Hills conference, so they play every year. However, Madison, a 3A school in a conference full of 4A schools is dropping out of the conference at the end of this season.
  18. Silver Creek's first real test when everyone is healthy tonight against Bloomington North. North is ranked 9th in the Sagarin. I say 'when healthy', because SC had to play Blackhawk and North Harrison without Kaufman. Likely win both of those games if he was. Other than those 2 and a game against Jeffersonville, SC's early schedule has not been that challenging.
  19. Well, if we don't get vaccinated and develop herd immunity, this thread will still be going strong 5 years from now and we will be in a worldwide financial depression to rival 1929.
  20. If true, that changes my position.
  21. I'm on the fence with whether giving extended care patients priority to vaccinations is even the right thing to do. Yes, they are very vulnerable to the disease. But, they are also vulnerable to death from other things as well. It seems a more effective approach would be to vaccinate those that may come into contact with nursing home patients first. In other words, give priority to the health care workers (which we have), but also the children and grandchildren of these patients. If those people get vaccinated, then not only are they not bringing the disease into the facility, but they are also not spreading the disease outside the facility either. I think it speeds up herd immunity.
  22. In 'shocking' news, Josh Gordon has been suspended by the NFL again. Seattle Seahawks WR Josh Gordon suspended indefinitely again (espn.com)
