  1. Pacers ranked 10th in new ESPN power rankings. Interestingly, that is the highest of any undefeated team. Clippers remain at #3 despite losing by over 50 points on Sunday. NBA Power Rankings - Risers and fallers after a wild opening week (espn.com)
  2. A lot of discussion about the post-holiday surge. I did some very unscientific research on the Post-Thanksgiving surge. One thing I found very interesting is that many states actually peaked BEFORE Thanksgiving. Obviously, the overall numbers for the U.S. surged in December, but it's not universal across all regions of the country. Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming all peaked before Thanksgiving, and have consistently declining numbers since.. There may be others, but I didn't look up every state. So much attention is being given to holiday gatherings, but for many states, there were definitely other factors at work as well. At first glance, since all these states are geographically connected, could weather be a factor?
  3. That week 1 loss to the Jags is looking really bad right now.
  4. I said those exact words to my first wife.
  5. I suspect that a large percentage of NBA players have no desire to be teammates with Harden. But, maybe I'm wrong. Just does not seem to be someone that would fit into a new situation well, especially one that is already a winning situation.
  6. @BGleas Though I am a Pacers fan, as someone who has liked the Celtics back to the Bird days, I'm not sure I could stomach a trade for Harden. Apparently, at least on Celtics player could not either. Your thoughts? 7. Without Brooks, UK does not have the firepower to ketchup to the other team when they get down.
  8. KenPom has Northwestern ranked 13th in the Big Ten.
  9. Indianapolis can clinch a playoff berth with: IND win + BAL loss or tie OR IND win + MIA loss or tie OR IND tie + BAL loss OR IND tie + MIA loss

  11. Damn. Cody just can't stay healthy. smh.
  12. Rutgers Center Myles Johnson implies refs in Ohio State game were on the take. Look: Rutgers Player Rips Officiating After Loss To Ohio State (msn.com) Should do wonders for his ability to get calls going forward.
  13. Barring key injuries or inopportune Covid outbreaks, the 1A, 2A, and 3A tournaments may have as heavy favorites for teh state title as we have ever seen with Barr-Reeve, Blackhawk, and Silver Creek, Absolutely no one in 1A can touch Barr-Reeve, 2A has some very good teams, but Blackhawk would be a 4A power if they were in that class, Silver Creek has lost twice, but that was without Kaufman. When healthy, they are one of the 3-4 best teams in the state regardless of class.
  14. True. I don't watch nearly as many games as I used to, Growing up in the Louisville area, I used t5o watch every IU, UL, and UK game. And, as an extension, I would know the starting lineups for every team in their conference as well. Back when Louisville was in the old Metro conference, we used to get Saturday doubleheaders. Nothing better than a Southern Miss / Tulane battle royal. We would also get SEC doubleheaders on a different channel. I watched quite the number of Vandy / Mississippi State tilts as well. Now, I can barely name a single player on any team outside the Big Ten.
  15. No apologies necessary. I laughed my arse off typing the response. Laughter is a good thing.
  16. LOL. I absolutely hate it when someone does that to me. I've even been known to hold grudges.
  17. Cockburn. The only word in the English language that has both a silent 'C' and a silent 'K'. C'mon. It's the dude's name. No one is going to be offended if you say it the way his momma and daddy do.
  18. I was thinking the same thing myself. Not even seeing any new offers made to Bigs.
  19. Kaufman was the Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year last season. Not Lander.
  20. How hard is it to report accurate numbers. Geesh. 9 months into this thing and we still can't get the numbers right. Indiana health commissioner says correcting reporting error will lower inflated COVID-19 positive rate | News | wdrb.com
  21. United passenger died of Covid-19 and acute respiratory failure, coroner says - CNN Man apparently lied on his boarding checklist about his symptoms.
  22. Yeah. They have been around for a long time. Silver Creek has one that dates back to the late 60's. or early 70's Same 4 teams have participated every year. But, over the course of time the tournaments have gotten bigger. Most seem to have 8 teams, but there have been instances over the last few years where some have had up tp 16 teams. And, they bring teams from all over the state, whereas back in the day they used to be more local affairs.
  23. These big holiday tourneys are one of the best things that has happened to Indiana High School Basketball over the last 20-30 years. Great way to spend a couple of days when there isn't a pandemic to worry about.
