  1. Other than Terry Hoeppner, who most people think would have turned the program around and stayed here until he retired, who have we ever hired directly out of the MAC?
  2. The IHSAA did some sort of reevaluation of Dwenger at the beginning of the season and determined they did not have enough success factor points to continue in 5A. If I’m not mistaken, I think Dwenger was in 5A for 3 years.
  3. Just FYI, Dwenger was 4A this season. They got moved down from 5A just before the season started.
  4. Unlike Dakich, Woodson is smart enough to have a winning record as IU’s head basketball coach.
  5. Don’t take this as gospel, but this is what I heard way back in the day….Sam Wyche was quite a hire for IU to pull off, hiring him away from Bill Walsh’s 49ers staff. I was told back then that Paul Brown told Wyche he was interested in hiring Wyche as his next head coach, but that he should take the Indiana job to get some experience first. Wish we could have kept him for a while because all I have ever heard was that he was absolutely killing it on the recruiting trail. But Wyche was never staying here long term. Sure enough, the very next season the Cincinnati job opened up and Wyche took it.
  6. Yes. I heard a coach say awhile back (it may have been Tom Allen) that kids don’t really commit anymore, they make reservations that they may call back and cancel later.
  7. If he got 2 rebounds without playing, that should earn him more playing time.
  8. They had probable cause but that doesn’t automatically make him guilty. He’s entered a plea of not guilty.
  9. I would argue that Dabo Sweeney is Tom Allen with a lot more resources at his disposal.
  10. IMO, the people with "their panties in a wad" are the ones constantly complaining about "today's culture."
  11. Thanks. Any idea if that could change if Boogie commits to us?
  12. That’s hilarious if true. But I’m guessing PU fans were too busy chanting “IU sucks” to even notice, lol.
  13. Unfortunately for Carroll, Noblesville’s girls won in the same fashion, except it went to a second round (sudden death) penalty kicks. No regular goals in the girls match either.
  14. Noblesville knocked off Carroll (FW) in penalty kicks. No regular goals.
  15. True, but they were gonna meet in either the first game or the second game. Either way, it's the sectional championship game.
  16. Followed him somewhat while he was at Northern Illinois. Relied a lot on the run and screen passes. Threw deep occasionally but not very often.
  17. Big rivalry game tonight in Fort Wayne. Homestead, who knocked off 5A #1 FW Snider last week, gets thumped by Carroll (FW) 41-20.
  18. Absolutely. I have a HS senior being contacted by small school coaches in his sport, and can’t decide if he wants to play his sport or give it up and go to IU, which has an excellent program in his chosen field of study. They change their minds almost daily. And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s the rest of their lives at stake. That’s why I just chuckle when people think they are sure where these kids are gonna go to school, and I literally laugh out loud when fans of whatever school flippantly post that a coach “whiffed” when he doesn’t get a kid.
  19. Ha, sounds like me. I've been to many, and I've seen them win once. On the other hand, I've only seen the basketball team lose once.
  20. Those are some pretty respectable defensive numbers for a Kevin Wilson-coached team, lol.
  21. I don’t generally listen to them. A good friend of mine is heavily involved with the station, and I’ll just leave it at that.
  22. I’m aware of what they say publicly
