  1. Trust me, if some of these dudes were on our coaching staff we'd never win a game.
  2. My computer rankings, updated through April 16 games, features a new #1 and Indiana continuing to move up. Indiana is 0-2 versus my Top 25 but a very respectable 4-5 versus my Top 50. The Big 10 ranks as the 6th best conference behind the SEC, ACC, Pac 12, Big 12, and Big West. National: 1 LSU 2 Wake Forest 3 South Carolina 4 Virginia 5 Kentucky 6 Vanderbilt 7 Duke 8 Florida 9 NC State 10 East Carolina 11 Arkansas 12 Alabama 13 Virginia Tech 14 Oregon 15 Tennessee 16 Oregon St 17 Stanford 18 Louisville 19 North Carolina 20 Coastal Car 21 UCLA 22 Campbell 23 Connecticut 24 Texas Tech 25 Miami FL Big 10: 28 Iowa 44 Indiana 50 Nebraska 52 Rutgers 61 Michigan St 67 Maryland 74 Ohio St 95 Illinois 102 Penn St 106 Michigan 137 Purdue 194 Minnesota 271 Northwestern Indiana's opponents this week: Louisville (#18), Cincinnati (#206), and Ohio (#156).
  3. Is there a reliable college basketball media outlet? Maybe I'm getting old, but it seems like most of it is just clickbait, anymore.
  4. Assembly Call tweeted a couple happy Mike Woodson videos in the past 20 minutes.
  5. It appears that in last week's USA/Today Coaches poll they would have factored out to #31. I don't know about the other polls, and this week's USA Today poll isn't out yet as far as I can tell. So yes, they are getting noticed by poll voters, it appears.
  6. 17 in the RPI is awesome! My result-based metric has them #21, so very close. You know much more than I do as to what the selection committee considers when picking tournament teams. Is there a heavy emphasis on the RPI? Obviously, IU's predictive or score-based metric is not quite as good, but it's not bad, either.
  7. Missed last week because I was on spring break with my family, but these are my national and Big 10 computer rankings through April 9 games. Again, the formula is very similar to the basketball NET rankings: 1 Virginia 2 Wake Forest 3 LSU 4 South Carolina 5 Kentucky 6 Vanderbilt 7 Florida 8 Duke 9 Stanford 10 Alabama 11 Tennessee 12 Arkansas 13 NC State 14 UCLA 15 Virginia Tech 16 Campbell 17 Connecticut 18 East Carolina 19 North Carolina 20 Louisville 21 Oregon 22 Old Dominion 23 Texas Tech 24 Texas 25 West Virginia Big 10: 32 Iowa 37 Nebraska 47 Rutgers 54 Indiana 64 Michigan St 65 Maryland 84 Ohio St 95 Illinois 106 Michigan 113 Penn St 121 Purdue 204 Minnesota 269 Northwestern
  8. Well, I'm 57 with white hair, so all hell would have broken loose, hahaha.
  9. We were in Bloomington Saturday on the way back from spring break. We ate lunch at BuffaLouie’s, told my family we might see a basketball recruit, but we did not, lol.
  10. He has committed to IU but will still take his Tennessee visit. Too soon? By the way, I spent most of the day today in Alabama and will be in Bloomington tomorrow, so if this all turns out the way we hope, I believe it’s because I spread some good luck in both places, lol
  11. If that’s when he’s announcing, I’m guessing MSU.
  12. I asked an “insider” on another site about him….said we had contacted him but Iowa State probably leads for him because of a prior connection.
  13. I just though of Heywood Banks singing this post and then yelling, “yeah, toast!”
  14. I’d be willing to bet it went very much like that, with a “son” thrown in there somewhere.
  15. According to a Rick Bozich tweet, Coach Knight has been hospitalized since Friday, and a letter has been sent out to former players asking for prayers. Whatever the issue is, hope he recovers and is back home soon.
  16. Maybe a December national championship and they’d have a chance.
  17. Great point. Woodson seems to get the best out of certain guys that other coaches had trouble coaching. Smith, X, Carmelo Anthony…
  18. Makes sense. Michigan is the dream school of many kids in this part of the state. Makes me want to vomit.
  19. How about a thread just devoted only to news updates about portal players tied to IU?
  20. Big move for IU this week in my computer ratings, through 3/26 games: 1 Virginia 2 LSU 3 Wake Forest 4 South Carolina 5 Kentucky 6 UCLA 7 Vanderbilt 8 Old Dominion 9 Duke 10 Florida 11 Campbell 12 East Carolina 13 NC State 14 North Carolina 15 Alabama 16 Connecticut 17 Iowa 18 Virginia Tech 19 Texas Tech 20 Tennessee 21 West Virginia 22 Arkansas 23 Kent 24 UC Santa Barbara 25 Boston College Big 10 rankings: 17 Iowa 34 Rutgers 51 Indiana 55 Nebraska 58 Ohio St 63 Illinois 65 Maryland 75 Michigan St 95 Purdue 97 Penn St 122 Michigan 218 Minnesota 291 Northwestern Conference rankings: 1 Southeastern 2 Atlantic Coast 3 Pac 12 4 Big 12 5 Big 10
  21. Funny the different perspectives we have on IU basketball just with our age differences. I was 10 when we won it all in 1976, and an IU student when we won it in ‘87. From my perspective, I find it kind of comical when people try to claim we’re not a blue blood program, but if you only remember the past 20 years or so, I guess it wouldn’t seem like we are.
  22. I’ve been told we could have had Goode as well.
