Popular Post Muddy River
I know there is already a Thank You thread for TJD, but I want to point out how lucky we are as fans to have had both TJD and Grace Berger leading their teams. They are similar in so many ways. Both had plenty of options to go other places, but both CHOSE IU. They have both stated that they came to Bloomington to help turn around the basketball fortunes, and they did. They are each the first person to record a triple double for IU. More importantly they are both tremendous human beings. When the coach of your biggest rival calls you out in a postgame press conference, after a loss no less, because you reached out to him to share condolences for a lost former player, that speaks a lot to your character. When your teammates are crying during postgame interviews, not so much because they lost, but because they feel they let you down, and won’t get to play with you anymore, that says a lot about your character. As an IU alum, I am proud to have had both of these players representing my University. I don’t really need a banner to look at to know that both of those individuals are champions through and through.

Maedhros
That's my biggest takeaway from this past weekend. Losses happen and seasons end. Happens every year. I thought the men's and women's teams both had successful seasons, so while I was of course sad in the moment it didn't last long. The true disappointment I'm left with is that I'll never see Trayce and Grace play in an Indiana uniform again. I wanted more games to watch Grace nail a midrange jumper, or Trayce slam home a ridiculous lob. It's not the losses that get to me at the end of the year, it's that there won't be any more opportunities to experience joy. And these two brought me so much joy in their careers.
Stlboiler23
My level of respect for him (as much as I hated playing against him) was already up there but went even higher when Painter mentioned that TJD reached out to him after Swanigan passed away. Don’t think a ton of guys would do that and speaks a lot about his character.
Purdue7
The great thing about that situation was MP volunteered it. I’m sure hundreds of players tweeted about Biggie and maybe some tweeted Purdue players & coaches Just shows what we all knew. TJD is a good kid.
