Kinda incomplete without citing incoming freshmen, isn't it?

And I'm like @Hoosier987... TJD not coming back is wishful thinking by the Michigan author...

Japan's virus numbers are on the low end of the spectrum, and as an Island country, if they control infected people from coming into the country, I'm not sure playing baseball is that crazy of a decision.  Plus, as a general rule, Japanese are a very healthy people, so a lot of the underlying risk factors seen elsewhere are not all that prevalent in Japan.

The Olympics being postponed were not Japan's call.  They would have been competing against themselves, as no other country was going to send a team.

TJD is coming back.

Interesting, in the light that this year's Olympics have been postponed for more than one year.

New dates announced for Tokyo 2020 Olympics postponed over coronavirus concerns

That sounds like a bad decision, but at least, baseball is played in the open field, thus, much safer than indoor sports, but would any player want to sit in the dugout?

They are not playing yet, but looks like in a few weeks? Still a positive sign that they look to be playing. Will be nice to see games being played. Not sure which team to bet on tho. :coffee:

True.  The Olympic training center in Colorado Springs, as well as other training centers have been shut down for days.  And our great swimmers had said they would not be willing to compete in the Japan Olympics, because they have not been able to train every day.

About the center in Colorado Springs.

Thanks for the intel. This is just what I don't understand.  As his game has progressed exponentially over three years.  Why shut it down with just one more year to go ? Unless, he is just testing the market.

I guess these kids don't care about college basketball like we do ad they are ready to go even though they might not be drafted.  When I see guys leaving who is not even on the draft boards or guys who might be ranked in the 60's among draft players I just don't get it.

No, these guys don’t care about fans who think they should put loyalty to a university over their entire future. And they shouldn’t. I wouldn’t and deep, deep down I think you’d be doing the exact same thing in his situation.

Livers is just testing the waters and seeing what he needs to work on so he can fulfill his dream when/if that time comes. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that - this is a glorified job fair.

Nope I am way different because I would stay all for years even if I were the #1 draft pick.  I don't worry about injuries because today there is very little chance to have a career ending injury so the NBA will always be there.  Also if you are afraid that the longer you are in school the NBA will find your faults then you probably won't make it anyways.  If you go after a year or stay 4 years they will find your faults if you have them so to me either way you won't make it.

I agree whole heartedly and still waiting for Cody, Noah & Romeo’s name or highlight to be shown on ESPN but I guess I’ll keep waiting!  If each would’ve left when fully developed I might have seen it by now!  Glad they got that $$!

LOL...you haven't been watching then.  Cody has been featured multiple times.

I feel like you might think a differently if guaranteed millions were awaiting you.

In my mind, the decision is simple:

If you’re a first round lock you should go. Your contract will be guaranteed and if you’re smart, you’ll never have to work another day in your life even if you never get another contract.

If you’re not a lock it comes down to lots of things-age, family situation, chances of improving stock next year etc.

That being said if it were me, and I were a future NBA a player who decided to stay another year in school I would 100% get a fat insurance policy on myself.

TJD, Garza and Wesson aren't projected to be drafted this year, yet they're expecting them to leave? Why?

They're projected to leave by a Michigan guy who only hopes they'll leave.

TJD has already said, publicly, that he'll be back...

I wouldn't be shocked to see Garza back, either. The kid seems to like college and his coach and teammates. If he does (and the Hawkeyes at least try to play some defense), Iowa will be tough next year.

Not sure what the scuttle is on Wesson, but my gut feeling is he goes...
