He may have quit cheating recently but I love seeing him cry and lose. Just like Izzo.
NotIThatLives
I'm sorry but can you imagine how much better Jay Wright could recruit at IU? He could make IU a super model or a Lambo. You just can't make Nova a 10+ or a supercar no matter how hard you try. He's gotten very lucky with crazy shooting. They won't go far this year. Really don't care who has gotten injured either. He would recruit on super ridiculous levels at IU. He turned down Louisville because of sanctions. IU is Bama of basketball. Does he have the balls? I'm just not sure he has the balls. Call it comfortable, call it, "I can win here and have." Call it Mark Few. We need a psycho that can win. A psycho that can handle this psycho fan base that has about 6 heavily followed chat boards and a facebook mafia. Meanwhile. OSU is dunking all over Minnesota's literal face. What reason would he come here because he has won championships at Villanova. Why come to the Midwest where he has not ties for recruiting. Why come to a conference that he would have a harder time winning.

I'm actually talking myself into finding a young psycho coach. I wasn't alive then but it sounds like I'm describing a young Bob Knight. Who wants to win so bad and forge their own way? Maybe they get paid to much. Can you imagine living on a pristine lake, winning 30 games guaranteed annually, getting paid 1.8 million as a base salary like Few or 4.4 million like Wright. These dudes aren't that hungry. Who is the super smart, super hungry dude out there?

I think it is time for us IU fans to realize that there are a lot of other places that coaches can win at and don't need to coach at a place like IU to reach their goals.

INDIANA is the basketball mecca of the world. We are in the middle of hosting well over 100 high level games in 30 days. Forget the statistic I heard this morning but it's crazy. Find the guy that has the moxie and a healthy amount of psycho, probably not the ultra rich suave guy. It's not Wright but I'd take him in a heart beat because like I said, if he can get one 5 star and 2 4 stars a year at Villanova, AFTER winning 2 of the last 5 championships, he should be recruiting way better than that. NOVA vs IU is not the same. It's not. I'm happy to happily agree to disagree.

That you think a guy like Wright would seriously look at IU. People outside of Indiana didn't grow up watching IU like we did and they don't hold IU in the same way we do. To actually think Wright would even talk to IU after winning two championships is what I found funny.

Yes Should he be recruiting better than he is after winning 2 of the past 5? yes Would he become one of the top 5 coaches ever if he came to IU and won 2 more? yes Is Indiana the Bama of college basketball? yes Did I say that Wright would come to IU? No. Nova is a 9 or 10. IU could be a 10+ Fact. Nova has reached it's peak. It will never be a lambo, 10+ supermodel. Neither will be to the beloved Mark Few's Gonzaga. That's why IU needs to find it's young psycho. Someone said Musselman is a healthy psycho. Well if that's true, what are we waiting on? Him to win it all at Arkansas and never leave?

You literally flipped a switch from most positive IU poster to competing with the most negative in the matter of 6 months. I'm not going to waste my time on why he could recruit better at IU, it's not even in the same ball park of potential.

It is called being realistic and no way any coaches like Wright, Bennett, Few, Self, Calapari, Izzo are coming to IU and leaving what they have now. College basketball is just a different game now than it was 30 years ago. Recruiting is done more nationally now than it was back then and you saw less teams coming into the state to take recruits. All we had to do was recruit 3 states and have a dominant team but that is harder to do today. Players are on TV every game no matter where you go today so your family can see you no matter where you are playing. More teams pay their coaches more today so they don't feel the need to keep changing jobs to get to the top of the Ladder. Social media has changed the game so much and now fans have way to much assess to the players and coaches. To me this gives coaches more of a reason to stay where they are already on the good side of the fan base.

I never said any of those dudes would come. Just said that Wright would slay it here, even in greater slaying levels that Nova in it's wildest dreams.
