  1. Olsontex, you always have tremendously well thought posts. A welcome addition.
  2. I'm a Twitter news junkie (professional hazard, I blame work) and I started following a ton of new people during COVID. A ton of smart scientists and other people who tweet interesting things, like this guy who does incredible data visualization: It was always going to be like this, but still shocking to see just how good we have it (in relative terms).
  3. In decent position - appreciate the generosity of those who have chipped in. I’m up in the mountains but will try to update with actual numbers soon.
  4. Heck, I'm not here to short anything, I'm here to make profit off of what other people shorted vbg
  5. I feel young because I know what all of that means.
  6. ^^ software upgrades, too many new buttons smh
  7. The original Grateful Dead or the reunion/Fare Thee Well tour.
  8. I still love a good plate of red meat, but my better half is a nutritionist and does most of the cooking, so about 50% of the days I'm a vegan. I tell her if it tastes good, it tastes good! Still love bread/carbs and I am a sucker for cheese. The new impossible burgers are tremendous, especially when seasoned well. It scratches the itch. When it doesn't, I hit up a local bbq joint
  9. I didn't - I don't grill as much as I should (mostly vegan), but maybe I'll look into it.
  10. I won't stop posting how it's F'ing incredible that we're in the mix for top 200/300 recruits regularly now.
  11. I also said to try to keep it more surface level and then proceeded to do the opposite of that, so I’ll pm myself a warning.
  12. I should have been more clear - I meant Flynn was strawmaning me, not you. But that’s what I get for drinking and posting. Interesting insights, thank you for sharing.
  13. FWIW @IUFLA I took no offense, but to this point - you're arguing quite a straw man here. I never said always accept when someone said you're wrong. My clear (or perhaps not...?) intent was to say that if someone (in this case, a black person) celebrates a holiday very particular to them and their culture, and you want to share in that joyous Holiday - do it in good faith! Share joy! If your good faith attempt at sharing joy is somehow offensive (you're not a part of that culture, perhaps, and maybe it's a day meant to show sorrow, not joy), accept that whoever is telling you it was offensive probably truly was offended, try to learn to not offend again, and move on. I am sometimes shocked at how we can continue to find ways to argue points other people aren't making, but I suppose it's a message board, my friends what are we to expect.
  14. Let's keep this a little more surface level - this can spiral quickly, despite best efforts otherwise.
  15. thanks for posting - the quality in our recruiting has taken such a noticeable step forward, my word.
  16. Not quite a vaccine-resistant strain, but again the perils of our slowing vaccination pace: https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2021/06/20/us-coronavirus-infection-rate-fall-2021/?utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=wp_main&utm_medium=social
  17. If what we're talking about here is people complaining about communism or BLM on an IUBB (or Pacers, or Colts, or whatever) Facebook post, then no - people complaining about communism isn't a bad thing. People bringing up communism on a day dedicated to freeing black people from slavery, however, is a bad thing (at least I think so - others can agree or disagree).
  18. Be a good person and use good faith and listen when people tell you that you've done something wrong. You have a good soul. Nobody expects you to know or understand parts of a culture you don't exist in, but everyone will appreciate you trying to.
  19. I cashed out my original investment of AMC (which was 4x up) so now I'm playing with house money on the remaining 75%. Should be fun. I honestly might take a ride on the next reddit-crazed short squeeze.
  20. Appreciate all of the support, folks!
