Yeah I wasn’t excited. I did like some of the initial moves and held out hope that he was doing his best to optimize what he had the first couple years, but it’s pretty clear this is just how he wants to play. Just isn’t good enough IMO.

I never said all your posts poison the board, but yes, the personal attacks do regardless of if they’re stated or implied. And I don’t really care who is more popular or better thought of, you can have that title 🤷

This is the killer. Woodson inherited a pretty good defense and it has gotten worse YoY in Year 2 and again in Year 3. His offense seems to be very dependent on having extremely talented personnel like TJD and JHS. What exactly is it that Mike Woodson is elevating for this team?

That team also had some really good wins and was a bubble team. This team doesn’t have any good wins and I don’t think it’s going to make the NIT.

I mean we hardly even had the ball to call timeout in that run. We managed one shot in the first three minutes because of turnovers and giving up offensive rebounds.

Yeah… to come up with that list says to me that not everyone has accepted how bad this team is. I don’t understand what anyone is using to say this team isn’t terrible - metrics, eye test, how we have performed against good teams… none of that points to a good team.

I can absolutely make a case this season is worse than those, other than the early Crean seasons. The recent seasons, as in the last Crean year and the Archie years, are all better than this currently. It’s honestly not even close. 04 is probably comparable, 05 is better and 06 was a 6 seed. We won 19 and 21 games in 85 and 86. Finished second in the Big Ten in 86. How is this team close to that? I am genuinely curious, what measure are you using to say this team isn’t that bad? And knock of the implied shots at me, that crap poisons the board more than anything.

They did, but the next year they went with a bigger roster and really sucked, then he got fired. If you read quotes from the players when he got fired, they won’t shock you.

I don’t think we are going .500 over the remaining. I don’t think we have any games left we can safely say we will win.

The defending national champions?

We can use whatever we want, at the end of the day our coaches aren’t doing anything close to a good enough job. We are tracking towards the worst season in your life except for Crean’s first couple, so whatever reason you want to put on it the coaches are responsible for the awful result.

He is 11th of 15 in ORtg in the conference for guys with at least 24% usage. He puts up stats, but right now isn’t really a guy that impacts winning. Can he be later? Maybe? EDIT: before someone talks about TJD as a sophomore and his growth, he was 8th of 20 in ORtg in the B1G his sophomore year for guys with over 24% usage, and he was a better rebounder and defender.

I can’t imaging guards coming here if we have those four. Why would anyone believe we wouldn’t play those guys 30+ mpg.

Maybe, but if I was a parent on this team I wouldn’t like how the players catch all the blame and the 66 year old adult with a $5m salary doesn’t take any of it.

I hope we keep McNeely, but I wouldn’t blame him for asking out.

How did Fisch sound?

We play Purdue next week, is anyone looking forward to that game? Genuinely would love to hear from even one person who is excited for it.

Yeah… There is a scenario, don’t think it’s likely but it isn’t zero, that we have a lot of guys leave, struggle to fill the roster then win like ten games next year. Dolson has to be worried about his job security if he brings Woodson back and that happens.

Okay, and then what do we have for next year? Does anyone think next year will be better if we have a huge overhaul when Woodson already twists the truth about how much turnover this roster had? Woodson’s words have made it pretty clear that he doesn’t think the scheme is an issue, and that if he had a more experienced team things would be fine.
