Seems like with Peacock the on demand doesn’t work until the next day.

It might during a Purdue scrimmage - they wouldn't know who to call fouls on -
I saw - wasn't a good look for Dakich.
-
Was this the scene were the townsfolk didn't want to change to something more modern? And they ended up being very wrong, yeah?
-
I would say anything we get from Newton should be considered a bonus.
-
Yeah… seems like we don’t want to get told more than once. Not saying that’s always the wrong approach, but whenever the next time we make a hire is, I’d like us to find the right Tier 1 choice, even if we have to figure out who has the warts we can best live with from that group.

My gut says we made a swing at Stevens, regardless of how real his interest was or wasn’t, and when that didn’t work out this was Plan B. There were other names that I think we could have had that we never even explored.

Yes, I agree with that. I am honestly glad I don’t have to make that decision.

What do you want to see between now and May?

This is part of why I don’t really want to land Queen - I want to see us playing Mgbako at the 4 and Reneau at the 5 next year regardless of who the coaching staff is. In my ideal world we land 2 big time guards and bring Galloway off of the bench, and he can sub in anywhere 1-4 as your 6th man. Sparks can be the backup 5. Cupps getting minutes at the 1. Maybe add one more wing in the portal. -
So I don't really know the answer to this, and it isn't something I have wrestled with a ton because we don't have an opening and I haven't spent much mental energy on a potential replacement at this point. Beard's charges were dropped - another state flagship university hired him. Charges being dropped does not make him innocent, and in DV situations charges get dropped a lot because the victim isn't willing to cooperate. Does "merely" getting charged with something that was later dropped mean he shouldn't get a job coaching again? If the answer to the above is "no", but you don't think he should coach IU... why shouldn't he got a job at IU if he should be able to get a job somewhere? I don't really know the answer to all of those, but I think they're reasonable questions.

I mean I agree with you on that. Reneau, Mgbako, McNeeley, Galloway, portal PG with Cupps, a portal wing or two, and Sparks playing 7 minutes per game when Malik sits.
-
Hot take, but I dont' want Queen unless Reneau and Ware are both gone.

I get what you're saying, and don't even disagree there were some red flags, but we did make progress. We went from a negative scoring margin, by 5 points per game, to a positive scoring margin, by 1.5 points per game. We jumped 100 spots in KenPom. Given what Crean walked into and the fact that we did make some major progress, I think it was right to give him more time.
-
We did progress, though. I think there is room to debate if it was as much as we should have, but we jumped 100 spots in KenPom. I think 2008-2009 was Year 0 for Crean, and Year 1 was 2009-2010. If you think the progression you should see on a rebuild is, or was pre-portal and NIL at least, Lose Big, Lose Little, Win Little, Win Big we pretty well did that if you take 2008-09 as Year 0. Crean may have regressed back to "Lose Little" a couple season, for the most part though he was on the winning side after that. If we are then comparing it to where we are now, the frustration is that we are losing big in Year 3, and "losing little" next year would be progress. That isn't good enough IMO.

Good for them. These schools have enough money they shouldn’t be worried about a silly little fine. -

Archie had 2 top 50 as well, and another that was barely outside of it. One of Archie’s top 50 just happened to be a weird year that we missed out on playing 5 cupcakes because of covid. I do ultimately agree I’d take Woodson over Archie, but it’s honestly not by much.
-
There are problems with just looking at KenPom ranks YoY and averages, but while acknowledging that: Last 3 Years of Archie: average finish was 45 Last 3 Years of Woodson: average KenPom is 59

I’d add we need to hit shots too. OSU has a porous defense, but a lot of their struggles are the other team hitting shots (threes and free throws).
