  1. I know the Knicks and Bulls suck....but to win those road games, come home and beat Celtics in that fashion all the while Victor has been horribly sick all week....pretty impressive even if it is 1 of 82. Nice week for the Pacers. How many game winning shots is that now for Vic? Guy is clutch at $ time.

It will be tricky. Part of the reason these guys can command such lucrative marketing opps/shoe deals as rookies is that fans know these players from their year in college playing at Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA, UNC, etc.

Are shoe companies going to give a lucrative contract to a guy playing for the Erie Bayhawks or the Iowa Wolves? I'm sure someone in the agent world will do the math, but what is the exposure of playing at one of these top, blue blood college worth in terms of future revenue?

I could take 100K from Nike, play at Duke, and be a household name. What is that worth in terms of marketing dollars the next 3-5 years?

And I'm sure the agents who are being asked that question today already have the data that supports college over G League. So many kids become household names and ultimately get drafted because of the exposure they get on a national level at major programs.

I'll give 2 examples that I think are good ones. Our very own OG. If he's at a smaller school does he get noticed the way he did at IU? No way. Even with the injury he's set for life...and besides his athletic ability and game...his exposure at IU got him noticed. Another example I'll use is Sam Dekker. Great player no doubt...but until he was on the big stage playing in Final 4 I don't think he was a certain 1st round pick. His exposure and performance in March got him drafted.

What's this talk about the G league now offering $125k to HS players to forgoe college?

To quote what Rabby tweeted today. He asked an agent G League or High Major College....Agent said College every single time. G League will serve it's purpose for some and I'm glad they are actually increasing the $ for the guys...but for high level talent guys who have a chance to be drafted they'll continue to go to college. The exposure alone is so much greater.

True, but kidding aside it was the players they lost, not the Melo addition.

Wouldn't mind a Houston meltdown and they clean house and we trade for Eric Gordon. I like the Pacers and I think adding Tyreke will help the falloff when Vic goes to bench but come playoff time....I sure would like to add another pure 3 point shooter.

  5. Maybe it's just me but I feel like for the last 2 days all I keep hearing about is the Bucks. It's like someone passed out the same note to Indy media and said Milwaukee will be the big surprise this year. To me it's the Celtics and Pacers/Raptors/76ers battling for 2-4.

Regarding Troy...hopefully he'll find a new team soon. Sucks that he makes the team and is waived before opening night.

Mavs went cheap. I don't blame Yogi one bit if he considered the offer an insult. I think he really wanted to stay but you can't stay for way less than half the money. At least the weather is nice in Sacramento...

I hope he makes the Mavs regret that offer.

He's already made about 25 GM's look like idiots. Yogi is a perfect NBA backup PG and has showed he can start too. Still shake my head at Pacers for not giving him a look before last year.

Re the income tax thing, one thing that never gets taken into account is we get absolutely killed here in property taxes. You're better off without income tax, but the property tax significant. I pay a LOT in property taxes.... There are a lot of NBA guys with homes here, and they pay a lot, lot more.

Where's here? I'm in Hamilton County Indiana  and pay less than 1%. Is Texas really high? Quick google search says 2%.

Thanks for posting that. Now it makes sense. Good for him. His hard work deserves some life changing money. Not saying the $ he's earned already isn't worth it but now $3 Million net over the next 2 years invested wisely can set him up. Still won't have as much as his mom....but getting closer. Haha..

  9. I'll have to crunch the numbers at some point but to me the 2nd year in Dallas must not have been guaranteed. When you factor in 13.9% State Income Tax in California vs No State Income Tax in Texas...along with cost of living....I mean the net numbers might be $350k max. Must be something about Dallas 2nd year guarantees that scared him.

I work in a microbiology lab in an egg production facility so can provide some info.

The chickens that produce commercial eggs are vaccinated to protect against salmonella and fed a consistent gain based feed blend so the eggs are consistent in appearance and nutrients.

Farm eggs can vary depending on how the are fed. I buy local farm eggs. First, the color and richness of the yolk is definitely noticeable in flavor, as in alot better tasting. They are more vitamin rich especially omega 3 and vitamin A.  The quality will vary based on feed.

I prefer free roam pastured eggs, the chickens that lay these are free to roam and eat whatever they find like insects, seeds, worms ect.  these are probably the most nutritious. I get them unwashed and clean at home. There is a protective membrane between the shell and dirt/poo that keeps the inside of the shell sterile. Washing takes off the dirt and protective membrane. So was right before use. The shell colors will can be blue, green, yellow, really any color due to the various food sources.

Another farmer I buy from sells free range.  He provides feed and lets them roam so the chickens have two types of food sources. They are more consistent but still more nutritious better tasting than store bought.

I recommend pastured free range if you can find them.

Thank you for this. Always was curious.

I figured. One thing with eggs, all the cholesterol is in the yolk so even if it is bad it is easily avoidable. I've seen other studies around eggs that show some negative benefits that don't deal with cholesterol primarily, but to me, it is all relative to what you are eating the egg instead of. I think eggs may increase the risk, long-term, of some health problems but short term they are a lot better than the risk you get from some other foods we consume.

I'd love to know the differences between farm fresh and eggs from store. Besides color and lower cholesterol. When we owned a condo at Eagle Pointe I'd go have beers at Fairfax Inn around the corner. This guy would come in every Friday and sell farm fresh eggs. $1 a dozen. Best deal going.

I think most people recognize the benefits of eggs; they're a good source of protein and not high in calories. The downside is that they are high in cholesterol hence my answer that yes, they are good or bad for you.

I personally don't eat eggs, be that on their own or cooked into something, but I think they are a better option than a lot of processed foods people eat. I'm guessing if you were that big, your diet was completely awful and eggs were a huge step up which is awesome for you!

Went to work on Wall St after IU for 2 years. Moved back to Indy at 23. 14-16 hour days of non stop on the go eating, drinking, lifestyle makes you gain about 5-10 lbs per year. Next thing you know you wake up and your 31 and boom...you weigh 230. Me eating healthy was a sub from Marsh which consists of some of the most unhealthy meats/cheeses/breads in the world.

I did Eggs, veggies, chicken, cottage cheese, turkey bacon, asparagus, any meat....basically ate the same meals for a year. I won't ever go back to that 20 something world again diet wise.

Congrats.  I'm not at 230 yet, but could get there if I don't do something.   I've started and stopped multiple times and lost 10-15 pounds quickly.  Then the backsliding starts.  tthis thread is motivating me to start again and stick with it.

Just like with most things. It takes a supportive cast or friend or workout buddy. Going it alone is tough. I compared it to when my wife was prepping for bar exam. She basically told me I'll see you in a few months. I did the same. Morning workout. At work for 10-11 hour day. Come home. Workout. Maybe an hour of meal prep and relax....and do the same thing over and over again for months.

  14. About 10 years ago I reached an all time weight wise of 230 range (I'm 5'10). Went carb free with 2 workouts per day for a year. No booze, no smokes,etc...and went down to 154 lbs. Eggs were a VITAL part to my year. The nutrition folks can say all they want. Eggs are good for you and help you lose weight as well.

I think the extra 76 lbs I was carrying was far more dangerous than having an extra 12-18 eggs per week.

  15. Lebron 0-6 in finals without Wade or Kyrie. I've said the following for 10+ years. Dan Gilbert should be ashamed of himself and owes an apology to Lebron and Cleveland for what he made Lebron try to win it all with first go around until he left for Miami.

Lebron has earned every right to pick and choose where he wants to play and try to win a title. 1 title in what?? 11 or 12 years there?

Don't be surprised if he ends up back in Miami. At least there Riley is smart enough to know the help he needs to beat a Golden St team is stacked. Although Miami will have to unload a ton of players before anything like that happened.

I honestly don't see this Warriors team as the best ever. The Rockets would've beaten them but for the CP3 injury. They were up, they beat them in their house, and their physicality was a real problem for the Warriors, who are many things, but tough is not one of them, Draymond and his groin kicks aside. But again comparing teams of different eras has so many factors that don't correlate it's just hard to draw direct comparison.

LeBron just passed MJ for most 30-point games in the playoffs. He's 33 and still killing everyone. Sad though that his team is so horrible, this year's Finals is a joke -- the Finals was Warriors-Rockets.

I just need this thing to go to 5 games. I'm in Vegas on Sunday night until Tuesday night. I want to be able to get my bet in on the over for game 5 and more than likely the cover too.
