  1. Its just different. Its not what i expect to see when i see KoB2011 has posted something.
  2. I do not approve of the new Avatar. Its not what i expected to see and i am a visual person. i base your identity as a poster on your Avatar. This is messing with my brain big time.
  3. Given an unknown coach K, stepping into IU basketball next year(24/25 season) and having these results (his first 4 years). At the end of year 2 we would be talking hot seat and at year 3 we would be having this exact thread about firing him. Some would say he needs 4 years etc.. while others would say he needed to be gone after year 2. He would most likely get a year 4 and we would be debating if it was good enough to get a year 5. Of course Year 5 he goes to and loses in the NC, which could lead to another year or 2 which of course starts he run of S16, E8s, FF and eventually back to back NCs. Of course a known Coach K would have much more leeway if this had been his first 3 years coming from Duke and knowing what he could do. Although i doubt a known Coach K would have these results based on his ability to recruit just by him name alone and the fact he was/is a really good coach. Fun thought experiment.
  4. I am sure he did, several days later, after being told to shut his pie hole by the administration lol
  5. And yet somehow he will come here and forget how to shoot or drive to the bucket lol. J/k i think
  6. Its never zero. Its unlikely I will be killed by a giraffe, but its never zero lol
  7. Agreed, but it could also mean the BoT did a poor job of replacing the administration also. They (BoT) could be the issue. Could be bad luck. Could be deliberate. Could be many things. Doesn't matter though. Bad results are bad results. And basketball is king at IU. Soccer, Swimming, Lacrosse, etc.. can all be great. But if the Basketball and/or Football teams are trash, that is the lens everyone looks through. We've only changed administration once i think since the firing of Coach Knight. So there isn't alot of data around that other than the last 2 administrations have failed to find the Next long term coach in both Basketball and Football. Cig could be the answer for Football, but basketball has the focused lens right now and every single flaw is going to be brought to light like no other. It is what it is for IU basketball. Until we start winning again at a higher clip, every flaw will be talked about by everyone. Tough job for both the President, AD, and Coaching staff. There is cutting bait to early and losing out on a good coach (although with CMW age, i doubt he goes off and coaches anywhere else) and waiting to long and damaging your program even more (see Coach Crean). This is what Dolson makes the money he does, he needs to figure this out at the right time. Depending on how the season ends, hard questions will need to be asked about the state of the basketball program. My opinion is this. If you have a proven in the bag candidate and the season ends very poorly for Coach Woodson, you move on, but you better be right, It better be the home run hire. Otherwise you're better off riding this storm out a couple years until Coach Woodson is ready to retire or the home run hire is ready to take over. Our next coach HAS to be a HUGE name with proven winning or is someone like Donnovan or Stevens. The fans would give them a longer leash due to proven history and fan love. Sorry Scott for the long repsonse.
  8. Doesn't matter, same as business. If you have 10 failing years, the Board and the Shareholders don't care who the CEO is, they only care if the CEO is winning and profits are high. Same with fans. Same administration/coaches or 20 different version of it. Winning/losing is all that matters, they are the same if the produce/results are the same. Its why Coach Woodson and Dolson are catching so much flack. They are just an extension of the last 20 years. Change the results and you change the opinion. Its simple.
  9. My question. Do Indiana kids want to play for Indiana anymore? Could be a culture thing. All of those schools you mentioned have been winning in the last 15 years and we have not. While i agree we need more instate kids, can we get them?
  10. I could be wrong and i usually am. From my point of view, and its not very high level, here are some factors. 1. We haven't been "good" consistently for along time. And that wears in a fandom that has so much history and pride in its basketball. 2. IU fans expect more than average success consistently, we still believe we're in the same arena as Duke, UNC, KY, Kansas etc.. Even with the last 20+ years to prove we are not. 3. The "average" IU fan isn't stupid and has a basic understanding of college basketball and can see "basic" concepts of basketball and if it doesn't smell right, they understand it (This could be argued). But when announces and sports writers start parroting the same thing fans are saying on boards, social media and at the water cooler, something is up. 4. The Coach Woodson hire wasn't an overwhelming hire to most. The Average fan didn't see this coming and wasn't excited when it happened. Say what you want, he wasn't on most fans lists. 5. With the "average" fan knowing "basketball" the last 2.5 years have looked and smelled very similar to the previous 4 and to a lesser extent, the previous 2 or 3 before that. Which makes it feel like 6-8 years of the same thing. Now this isn't fair to Coach Woodson and even I know things are better, and i don't know anything about anything. But it doesn't change the lens from which everyone is looking 6. Coach Woodson received a million dollar bonus to pay last year only to have this year falling off the rails. It could turn around and we could make a 10 game win streak run and win the B1G ten tourney but that seems likely. 7. Not being able to shoot the ball outside of 7 feet. Feel like every other team in college basketball can shoot the ball. Yet every shooter we bring suddenly couldn't hit water if they were in a boat in the middle of the pacific ocean. 8. Fundamentals and passion. This is easy to watch and see. Coach Creams first 3 years were a disaster and everyone knows it, But they played hard and did their absolute best to win. Lots of talk around this team not hustling or doing fundamental things. I am not advocating for firing him. I might advocate they take that 1million dollar raise back if this year continues. But something has to change. This brand of basketball is not at all fun to watch, root for, or talk about with other basketball fans. I can't say what this team does good. I can make a long list of what everyone thinks they do bad, but can't come up with anything we do good consistently. Like man, we turned the ball over 20 times last game, but did you see how we.... My passion for IU basketball dies a bit more each year since Cody and Vic left. Just not enough to be passionate about. Seems like offseason is way more passionate than the actual season these days. Just some thoughts. Hope we beat Illinois on Saturday and that starts our run to a salvaged season. GO Hoosiers Sorry for the Long post.
  11. That last 6 minutes made up for 14 minutes of terrible play. Makes it look like we played much better
  12. Agreed. We played terrible defense most of the game. Didn't box out or rebound like we should and we can all agree other than Mbako, we don't have anyone we can count on to put the ball in the basket. AND WTF is XJ doing, he won't shoot at all
  13. I ran to the store and got a sixer of Lagunitas. Enjoying a cold brew as we speak
  14. What are your thoughts on the game? I think MR played within himself most of the game.
  15. It was Scott. But he might back off that statement tonight lol
  16. Headed to the store for beer right now. Was going to but now I need it
  17. Sparks looks like someone put a snap chat filter off a kid on an adult
  18. The refs are calling it pretty good for Kohls Center
  19. We could still win this but man our defense will need to step it up
