Schools down here have been on eLearning for a few weeks now, so my son is not getting any hallway gossip. And, he has not directly reached out to any classmates who may know and asked the question. Throw in the fact that, with attendance restrictions, I've not attended any of the games, I've not done any significant investigations myself.
Until late last week, I had been working under the assumption that they were just being cautious and holding him out until we needed him, which would be for both games this weekend. However, on the Livestream of the game last Friday, he was clearly favoring it walking to and from the locker room. Then, I got a little more suspicious when there has not been any indication in the local paper about when he may return. You know the reporters are asking, but the coaching staff must not be willing to share. Top it off with John Harrel predicting Blackhawk to beat SC by 17 points on Saturday indicates he may know something we don't.
I'm now working under the assumption that he will probably miss the games this weekend (North Harrison and Blackhawk), and that will be significant. Throw in a game with Jeffersonville next Friday, and a very tough stretch will be even tougher without Kaufman.
That said, Kooper Jacobi has been a monster so far this year. His shooting stats are ridiculous. And, Branden Northern has been playing excellent as well. SC is capable of beating most teams even without Kaufman, but size, which both North Harrison and Blackhawk have, will be problematic.
Appreciate the info thanks!

@5foulswe’re hearing that TK might have hurt his ankle pretty badly and might be out a long time. Have you heard anything?

Purdue was up 18 at the half and lost by 4...to a team that had 3 scholarship guards available.
If Archie Miller still can't beat that team this year, he should resign. Good lord, that was pitiful.
It was one game lol. The E8 team from a few year’s ago was dreadful in the non-conference.

I looked at the gamecast. Purdue had 3 droughts of 4+ minutes. They went on a 6 minute drought after getting that 20 point lead. As we've seen the past few years, it's hard to win games that way, even with a large early lead.
Yep it was strange indeed. Need Ivey back ASAP.

He made it sound like he was on the recruiting visit but that would be like 2 years before his senior year. I am pretty sure one of the reasons he didn't come to IU is Sampson and his problems. I am pretty sure Hummel was one of the guys he made illegal calls to.
I think you’re right that he was one of the ones that was illegal. Painter having an extra year to recruit him when he was the Associate Head Coach certainly helped too.

Watching LiveStreams of as many Silver Creek games as I can. Not the same as being there though. Covid Sucks.
Do you know how long TK will be sidelined?

Me either, funny when he was a freshman in HS some people thought he would bup being better than Eric
Yeah I remember hearing that too. Neither Eron nor Evan ended up anywhere close to EJ.

Had no clue Eron Gordon played for Valpo lol.

Always fun to see the hypocrisies of revisionist history. I know I'm a broken record on this one but Painter after 7 years on the job didn't have a tourney win for 4 straight years. Shoot even Illinois fired Weber and Groce for less.
I know our guy lurks so I have to add this. Painter seems like a really good guy and at times can be a good coach. But he's fired in year 9 in Bloomington. And another preemptive comment...before someone comes along and says if he's so bad why can't we beat him,etc blah blah....our series runs in streaks with them. Check back for 20 years. IU is getting to go on another one.
Groce only made 1 tournament in 5 years lol. Painter had at least proven himself.

Valpo 34-23 at half and almost half of their points have came from the line Valpo is leading even though they have 10 turnovers and been called for 15 fouls.
We have missed so many good looks unfortunately.

PS Gang. Duke hasn't won a regular season ACC title since 2010.
Never would’ve guessed that. Wow.

I thought his Dad's comment was telling and rings true. State takes care of IU kids. Some of these other kids that want to chart their own path to Purdue, UCLA....and elsewhere can find a new home. They better hit on NBA because they won't find the job market begging for their services down the road.
I like our chances with this one.
They will if they get a good degree lol. Purdue degree holds a ton of value.

But...but...but...injuries! And Clemson is kinda sorta good!
Yawn. It’s a loss but it’s not a bad loss. Not like we lost to San Francisco.

Clemson is picked to finish 10th in the ACC. If we lost to that team, the fire Archie Miller threads would be up and running today.
And they’d be ridiculous lol. Especially if you were missing key pieces.

I don’t see him going to IU or Pu after the transfer and those comments
Wouldn’t surprise me either.

Great news for us

I don't know if they are that solid because they were predicted to finish 10th in the ACC
They’re 29th in KemPom that’s solid.

This is always my response. A season of constant injuries at IU means Archie isn’t a good enough coach to overcome adversity. Two guys out at PU deserves an asterisk.
Injuries always need to be factored into the equation IMo.

Edey kid continues to play well. Williams looks like he left his game at the beach.
For a kid ranked 429, it looks like we may have a hidden gem.

Purdue was short handed and me thinks they lost to a good team in Clemson.
Clemson is a solid team no doubt.

You probably win the game if you had your 2 best guards. They wouldn’t of turned you over near as much. With that being said when all the injures happened to IU during Romeos freshmen year nobody wanted to acknowledge that. And it wasn’t just 2 guards. Dang near the whole team for most of the season.
I guess the point is if your a Pu/ IU fan it’s not that hard to be reasonable and not ignore facts.
Fair points.

Never mind I didn’t catch the game I thought someone said Ivey had mono...I read he had a foot injury. Tough being without both your point guards...shows in the numbers...too many turnovers and poor on ball pressure let Clemson get too many good looks.
Ahh no worries. Yeah Morton is the one coming back from mono. Not sure what the deal is with Ivey but hopefully it’s not too serious. Would hate to see it be a stress fracture.
