  1. When you give up 44 points to Purdue and have the worst Defense, OLine and the most dropped passes in the conference, it’s weird that Sheridan is first to go, this emphatically. The offense was bad this year but how could it not be with a walk on QB and entire RB room? To me, the oline and defense were the more glaring issues. I’m fine to move on to another OC but Allen has bigger fish to fry here. This move doesn’t move the needle

Easy, you'll get laughed at with this opinion.

It was nice to see him play well, even after it was all the turnovers. Not sure how get got pick pocketed in the second half, though.

I’m happy for the kid that he’s getting more PT and looking like he actually belongs out on the court at this level but I’m not naive…he has to contribute against BigTen level talent. I’m not really interested in what he can do against the Ragin Cajuns and it’s weird reading some of the comments insinuating he’s got this incredible ceiling or that he’s better than Rob.

    Noticed that too...

I'm sure Coach Woody will "review" some of the turnovers with him, but he's looked pretty good to me...

I think he, Geronimo and possibly Bates will be “reviewed” quite extensively for turnovers after tonight’s performance. Can’t have it against good teams and we need all three of them this year

Dare i say it, do the Hoosiers finally have some 3 point shooters lol.

I feel like Lander shoots with the ball closer to his face this year where as in the past his start and release point were further out infront…almost making him push the ball rather than shoot. Clearly this is working for him

Is. D McCulley our future? From what I’ve seen he can’t throw the ball! This isn’t HighSchool anymore! Is there anyone one on the offense side coming back that gives us the feeling we will be better!
That we won’t  be watching this same shit show next year!

He needs way more 1st Team reps before his performance can be adequately judged. Also massive improvements in the OLine and running back positions would help. It is concerning but he’s only had a handful of clean pockets to throw from and very few open receivers

Would he have still scored if he hadn’t dropped the ball first?

That’s DMac’s method of making the play develop. Looks like Sheridan took out the RPOs and is going with designed QB runs instead and so far it’s working. Gotta keep the hits on the QB down though

Ah, certainly a fair point. My bad on missing your point.

No worries, I certainly didn’t word it as well as I could have. Also, who knows…maybe he pulls a Bohannon and refuses to leave? Hopefully it’s a non issue and he gets back quickly

This would blow. He was looking very solid so far. Hopefully it's not a "bad" break. If not I would assume they could do a medical redshirt?

He could if he can’t come back but he’s already a RS Frosh given last season doesn’t count.

    Behind Villanova, UConn, and Xavier.

Villanova and UConn both look really good so hard to argue that, but man St. John’s might be right there after that. At least if Champaigne is on like he was tonight, hats off to that kid.

I believe they split with all three of those teams last year then went out and got better through the portal while keeping their two best players. They’ll be tough. Also, while the “sloppy seconds” chant may have been funny/clever…no doubt it lit a fire in Smith’s a$$.  Maybe we don’t do that anymore. Tired of random guys having career nights against us

Yeah, I know, but I think the AP and Coaches rankings are just as irrelevant at this point in the season...No good way to measure teams yet with the P6ers playing mainly cupcakes... So, Kenpom it is...at least they do take into account last season, as opposed to the eye test of the latter two...

And I don't know if you watched the Marquette/Illinois game last night, but 88 is probably being generous to the Golden Eagles...

I didn’t watch it. I only knew that Marquette had almost no one but one guy back from last year and a new coach/system with Shaka coming in so KenPom wasn’t going to be able to predict much from them this early.
Not sure I understand your point about 88 being generous after beating the Illini, as even without Cockburn, they’re still a good team. I guess we’ll find out what UofI is all about eventually.

They lost to the 88th ranked team (according to Kenpom) turning it over 26 times...

Says a quite a bit to me...

Kenpom is largely irrelevant until at least a third of the way through the season when there’s enough data in the system to fully analyze a team’s performance along with their opponents’ performance stats.
Right now it’s still using last year’s stats on players so a new coach/system and any new players that either didn’t play last season or now have a significant role change isn’t taken into account. This early into the season, I don’t even know why they release its rankings

RB coach has highly rated sons committed to IU. He’s not going anywhere

And he’s the best in the business. People need to realize the defectors in the RB room were never going to make it and while Hart found a gem in Stevie Scott, the rest of his recruits were misses. Deland will turn that room around. Hiller has to go day 1. It’s shocking it hasn’t already happened. Warren next, he’s an absolute liability/in over his head. I think Sheridan gets another year and Wright comes back for sure…Heard? I donno man, his WR room has been a joke. Can’t run crisp routes and get open, Fryfogle leads the conference in drops? I don’t know how you survive that but he’s been around the longest so that may save him.

Always rough to hear that not only did your top target that is in your own backyard turn you down for a rival, but they also did it knowing they may be buried in the rotation.

My guess is he underestimated Pork Chop’s affinity for Furst and didn’t expect to see himself that far down the depth chart. Purdue fans thought T. Williams should have been 1st Team All American and a sure draft pick…he got half the minutes as Furst and came off the bench.

Say good bye to Lander if he isnt going to play. Cant see the kid wasting 2 years sitting. JMO.

Does Purdue FW have an open scholly? If the kid can play he’ll earn his time. If not, oh well. Sometimes 5-Star recruits bust. I’ll be rooting for him but also not losing any sleep if he wants to leave to find playing time.

I’m sensing just a wee bit of saltiness here. Who cares who the opponent is? I’d guess 98% of fans will rush the field after beating the number 3 team.

Lol. 98%??? Show me an example of OSU, Michigan, PSU, Wisconsin, Alabama, Clemson, Oregon, USC….(I could go on)….fans rushing the field, ever. I actually think rushing the court/field is fun and part of the experience of winning a big game so I didn’t appreciate the BS comments from Purdue fans when IU beat #6 MSU (in bball, an actual national powerhouse) in defensive buzzer beater fashion, only to turn around two years later and rush the field against a mediocre football program that was clearly overrated…even their own coach said so going into this game.

Can’t tell if you’re serious lol.

I don’t actually care but as I’m sure you’re aware, Purdue fans ripped IU fans for storming the court after beating MSU in basketball a couple years ago so I found it ironic. I’m also making fun of the fact that your fanbase thinks your football program has ever actually been relevant. I’m going out on a limb here, but I feel confident in saying Purdue is the only fanbase to ever rush the field after beating MSU in history…so there’s that

Watching Jones get whipped consistently is frustrating.  I hope we never see that level of incompetence on our offensive line ever again.  Next!

It’s more than frustrating. This is negligence on behalf of the coaching staff. He’s never been close to good much less deserving of a being a starter.  If Hiller doesn’t lose his job in the offseason then CTA will sink the ship with him.

It's underrated how hard it is to piece a complete team together.

We lost like one guy on defense from last year and gained Kramer, Ryder, Handy and got Ball back. I empathize with the offensive issues and Penix’s inability to return to form / injuries & transfers at RB but the defense looks like they spent all offseason feelin themselves (Fryfogle can be included here) and not getting prepared to work. Mindset is crucial and these guys clearly didn’t know how to handle the slightest bit of success
