Fun Fact: Kenesaw Mountain Landis, the first Commissioner of Baseball, was widely credited with bringing credibility to the game of baseball after the "Blacksox" scandal. He was born in Ohio but grew up in Indiana (Logansport and Delphi). His real name was Kenesaw Mountain Landis (at that time Kenesaw and Kennesaw were both accepted spellings). His parents were unable to agree on a name. So they named him after the battle, the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, where his father was seriously wounded fighting for the Union in Sherman's drive to Atlanta.

Maybe we should start a prediction thread on this!

As you get older you won't have to worry about that as then naps always turn into sleep and you really don't care.
-
I'm a superstar when it comes to naps!

This is an old CRMK tactic/theme. The practices are hard and physical. So the game seems easy.
-
So just us following the game?
-
Well he has lots of time to recover at this point in our schedule. 2 cupcakes and a week off.

You could be right. We'll have to see. But I see in CMW a mature guy who can develop his talent, handle the x's and o's, and relate to his players.

The data is slim, but this team did improve during the year last season and was playing at its peak at the end of the year.

Honest take on Bball Program?
slojoe replied to 13th&Jackson's topic in General Basketball Discussion
TJD is a substantially better passer this year than last. He's averaging almost 1 more assist per game than last year. If he has a jump shot at 15' or further out, he hasn't shown it consistently at this time. We have lots of guys that are scoring options, but we need 1 and probably 2 with X out to take over and be consistent scorers that require lots of attention. -
Honest take on Bball Program?

This team is substantially better than last year. Year KenPom # KenPom OE KenPom DE 21-22 48 95 24 22-23 17 30 23 There is only 1 B1G team rated ahead of us this year. But there are a handful nipping at our heels. We face 2 big challenges. First, opponents have figured out how to slow us down offensively. Second, we are losing X, a top player for awhile and maybe the season. The team and coaches have to meet those challenges. I predict 1-4 in B1G and 1 or 2 wins in the tourney. -
We got w/i 3 with 12:43 left in the game. I think it's a big stretch to say we were in the game.
-
The record alone is not the problem. It's that in the 3 loses they never had enough going for them to have a chance to win the game.

Mark Emertt stepping down, now what for NCAA the

He's exploring running for Senate. He did leave Purdue. So I'm not sure what he'd do if he decides not to run. -
I watched the replay of the penalty kick ending. WOW! What an ending even though IU lost.

He'll have to pick up on those blocks if he wants to average a double-double for the season. -
This is the 2d game that we've suffered an early run that put us away. I'm sure having JHS out was a factor, but I don' t know how much. We have to find a way to avoid these streaks so we have a chance to pull out the victory. I think X getting 2 fouls early really hurt. I think pressure on the guards is the way to slow up UA's offense, but with JHS out and X on the bench we couldn't do that. I don't think double teams would work. Yes, the refs were lousy but we have to learn to defend w/o fouling too much. We had the same problem v. Rutgers. I don't think we can put much of this on TJD. We need a second consistent scorer. We have a lot of options but no one who can do this consistently.

Have to wonder how he would've done without all of the injuries.
-
We could "pass the plate" and maybe we get enough to convince Russia to keep him for awhile.

Grinnell College (Division III) took 111 shots from the field on Thursday night hitting on 40. They also made 4 FTs. They won 124-67.

JHS and TJD just got adidas contracts. I saw nothing on amounts but seems significant. Good for recruiting! -
Grace Berger has 3 triple doubles so far in her career at IU. TJD is going to have to step it up!

For DG that's any time he gets across the time line, and in the backcourt when's he's open.
