Maybe the better question is” do you really want to play basketball, would you like to make a career of it? If so, then you need to put the work and effort in. If not, then fine. Go have some fun.”

At some point the collective “we” are going to have to get past this dread that once PUKe is involved, we no longer have a chance with a recruit.
Get it, it’s been this way for some time… for some of you younger guys, maybe your entire lifetime. But if we truly believe that this staff is going to change the culture that has been lost in the program for quite some time, we gotta start acting like we believe that we’re going to win some of these battles.
In other words, time to walk the walk.
I hear you, but in this particular case with him supposedly “ dreaming of a UK offer” and his dad having played foot Calipari, I think that’s where the pessimism comes from.

That's the impression I got as well.
Would think if Head Coach calls you into office and says he’s going to promote you and give you more $ ( assumed ) that would be the time to tell him you’re going to another school. So looks good.

He will always be one of my favorite Hoosiers, up there with Henderson, Cheaney, Yogi and someone I will get some smirks about Jay Edwards.
Jay Edwards. Sweet. One of best shooters I’ve seen in my many years of following IU!

Why does there have to be someone to blame?? Water and oil are bth good by themselves but just don’t mix well.

I meant to make it work when both parties have a lot to gain. He is firing a talented coach because he couldn't get along with him. I don't buy that as good leadership.
I have no problem being the face of fans dissatisfied with this outcome. Let Woody enjoy some blowback.
Like I said, go 26-8 and no one will remember. Go 20-13 and fire another assistant next year and it starts looking like a cluster. It's never one thing that does you in.
Last line of your post might apply to this situation, eh?

You’re right, and I know that. But I would say it means this list was put together by somebody who doesn’t have a clue. Hence, my comment.
Oops,I read it as meaning Kopp wasn’t worth adding; guess influenced by the previous negative comments. I agree, no clue.

The fact Al Durham is on this list and Kopp isn’t on it tells me everything I need to know.
It means NOTHING other than one guy mentioned Durham and not Kopp. One shouldn’t put too much weight on these. They’re opinion , not fact.

Sadly, our steak-n-shake down here in Evansville has been closed for some time. I could take the wife and eat there for under $20 bucks! Now we have the high priced gourmet burger places like Red Robin and Bru Burger.
Love my Steak & Shake. Had a triple today. Hope they survive their financial issues.

I agree on the redshirting idea. People argue that kids today don’t want to do it. But there are programs that still use the redshirt and do so effectively.
We have benefited greatly over the years from a bunch of guys who were really big for us as fifth year seniors.
The question is how does redshirting in the year of a free year impact that free year. If you redshirt , do you still keep the extra year or is it burned?

Sure. Cool.
No negativity toward you and you’re post; I would have liked him to stay ( go Cathedral)but just don’t care about players once they leave whatever team I root for.😎

Honestly.. hate to keep rehashing Armaan, this and probably should just send you a PM, but if Franklin was priority 1A... Bates should be priority 1B. Right?
Arman is history; don’t care.

Ok...can anyone interpret the being number 2 is first to lose thing (is this a Ricky Bobby interpretation??) or is he taking a shot at the last player to wear #2 that left the team?? Don't get me wrong I like that he is here to win if that is what he is saying but why put that in your announcement post? Kinda cryptic isn't it? Or am I reading too much into it!!
Reading WAY too much into it. I interpret it as saying winning is the only thing. NICE pickup!

Honest question, for you or anyone else chiming in. Do you think with all the evidence we have, he is the best available candidate, the best fit for this position? I would support your hire over his provided you haven't had any run ins with the FBI.
I’m not a basketball expert , and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn so I’ll leave the hiring to CMW and whoever else is helping with the decision as to best fit. Don’t know who else is being considered. I’ii trust CMW and IU to make the right decision. And NOBODY REALLY KNOWS WHAT WENT ON, ONLY WHAT WE READ.

Well I don't like it but they didn't ask me. Even if his nephew ends up at IU, I still won't like it.
I'll say no more on the subject but that would be the first thing CMW has done that I didn't like. Here's hoping it works out...whoever he hires.
CMW isn’t going to hire someone who is a scumbag and would do damage to IU; he cares too much. Don’t think Matta would sign off on either. Fact is, one can assume the guy is an incompetent cheet, but you don’t know. That’s one problem today, everybody rushes to a judgement based on squat.

Really hope we can get Noah Locke.
I agree!! I’m a Cathedral alum as was AF and I wanted him back, BUT he’s gone and let’s talk about the players who wanted to be here. And bring in Locke!

Something seems to be going on between TJD’s coyness and the rumblings coming out of Lexington. Maybe it’s a mis-read or he changes his mind. One thing is certain. Nothing is done until it’s done.
MILES approved!
