Cal has no interest in true road games anywhere. He avoids them as much as possible. My guess is he will never step foot in Bloomington, IN again. That may be the least of his concerns. Another subpar season or first round tourney loss (with the national player of the year on his team) and they'll bury him somewhere in the 'hollers'.

What people forget is uk is the one that keeps changing the game locations. From home to neutral court back in the early 90's where it stayed that way for a decade or more and then uk caused it to go back to home games. A "scheduling conflict". Then Cal got his feelings hurt and demanded neutral court again. Honestly don't care where they play. Seems like it's a game that should happen every season for the fans but if IU can play Kansas, Arizona, or Louisville I'd be fine with that too.

What's clear is CMW is not ducking anyone. That's great news for the fans and the program. It also means he better keep up the recruiting success if he want's to have a chance to compete in these games.

Personally I don’t even care if we ever play Kentucky again. At least as long as Cal is there. Play home and away or don’t play them. Chickensh@#t won’t play at IU because they’re scared of the crowd. Don’t need them.

Has an official in March, wants to visit again during the summer, and wants to commit by August. Have to believe we are sitting pretty well here. Focus on another big 2023 and call that class done besides whatever happens in the portal this time next year.

BUT I’d like AND Evans Jr.!

I completely understand why you, as an employer wouldn’t want that.

I even believe a lot of employers think they pay their employees all fairly. And I’m not saying I think all employees should be compensated the same, but I think the more we talk about it and have data around it the better it is for labor and for employees; that inherently is worse for employers and is why employers push hard against this IMO.

All due respect, but have  to disagree. Unfortunately, human nature being what it is, knowing each other’s salary just leads to bruised feelings and possible discord. Not with everyone but it only takers a few to create a negative atmosphere

Exactly.  It's like having similar employees, with similar results, but with 300% different incomes.

Anyone would question why they're being paid far less than others for the same, or even superior, results.

Which is why you never tell someone you work with what you make or want to know what others are making. Work Sense 101.

back to Negative Nancy here.  i am very happy JG is returning, but it makes me that much more skeptical that TJD would come back.  really hard to believe that the players and staff think there would be enough minutes to keep JG, TJD, Malik, and Race happy.  maybe JG can prove us wrong and play the 3.

Maybe he and the others just KNOW  they’ll be able to compete for minutes and are CONFIDENT he /they will get the game minutes. There are no absolutes here. Too much we don’t know about any of this to accurately say.

Won't complain if we get him, but really not a fan of a transfer "announcing a top 5." That just strikes me as someone who's looking for attention.

He’s not the first I’ve seen; no different than HS announcing their pick. Hell, the KENSUCKY cetnter announced on ESPN Sportscenter he was returning. I don’t particularly like it either but it is what it is.

I don't know how they could prevent it.  NIL was decided in court already.

I think it ALLOWS players to make money off NIL but doesn’t REQUIRE it. That said, nothing prevents a player from arranging his own NIL deal but sure you would get more with university’s help

  8. When Xavier Booker was 3 years old, his height was already a problem for his mother. At their home in Raymore, Mo., Xavier — with a basketball in one hand — would reach up and open the front door. His destination was the driveway, where he would put up shots on the outdoor goal.

Xavier picked up a basketball when he was 3. He picked up the piano when was 14.

It’s kind of new to me,” he said of the piano. “I don’t practice it every single day, but I try to. The main thing I get nervous about is messing up.”

There is some correlation from basketball to playing the piano. Developing skill through repetition, certainly. And learning to read music might compare to memorizing a scouting report or watching film. There is little doubt Booker is more comfortable playing in front of a few thousands on the basketball court than several dozen for a piano recital. But there is satisfaction in both for Booker, who can equate learning a new song on the piano to the feeling of a regional game like he had against Ben Davis.

  9. For any school, we’re really just trying to figure out where he fits in,” Fred Booker said. “With a lot of colleges, the attention is on you, but then five minutes after you walk out the door, it’s on someone else. It’s a constant evolution. We’re wanting to make sure he gets to a place he will fit in with the coaching staff and, more importantly, where he can get a good education. Basketball is what brings you together, but God forbid something bad happens, you need a foundation to do something else. For us, it’s a process and we’ve learned quite a bit. I’m glad we’ve been able to take our time and ask a lot of
