They haven’t been linked to any. I’m guessing the new OL coach likes what’s there and thinks it just needs some coaching… or else we’d have heard some whispers about IU chasing some guys.

I've always wondered how much of a units struggles were related to scheme and or coaching. It's hard to imagine that at this level the coaching could be the problem. But someone thought the guys we have were good enough, so I guess I just don't know why our ol has been so ineffective.

Have had some struggles with acid reflux, especially when lying flat and trying to sleep. Took the Pepcid daily started with 10mg and then graduated to 20mg.

The huge thing that helped me was cutting my alcohol intake down, especially beer. I don’t even take Pepcid anymore.

Alcohol is the main trigger for me. Limit my intake and acid reflux becomes very manageable.

IT - best PG of his generation. Would love to see him feeding Big Mac, Edwards and Wittman. Great defender at the point, could also score at will.

McGinnis - averaged 30 pts and 15 rpg in one college season. Total mismatch and freak of nature.

Tolbert - physical rim protector and solid rebounder

Wittman - 6'6 G/F, avg 19 ppg his one season with 3 pt line, shooting 44% from three

Edwards - probably the best pure shooter ever at IU. 48% from 3, 85% FTs. Avg 18 ppg in two college seasons.

No one could stay with this team.

Freak of nature is right. McGinnis could easily play in today's game. He was the prototype of the modern wing back then. Also played tight-end (I think) for the football team. Can you imagine being a 5' 8" db and seeing him coming at you full speed?

In college basketball in general I am so tired of watching offenses because it is all standing around and trying to beat guys one on one. Especially at the end of half's the coaches don't run plays to get guys open but just give it to your point guard and have try to get a shot on his own.

What use to make basketball so great was that it was 5 guys on the court moving in sink to get good shots.

A lot of this is trying to run an NBA style offense, which is what kids want to do today. I absolutely hate it. Purdue is way more fun to watch, except I hate Purdue.

Maybe got a slight view of what next year could he like. The four freshman, Banks and Duncomb shows signsbthat they have good abilities.  Those 6 really had to put in a lot of work on their games and their bodies in the off s asian.  If they do that is a very good start to next year's roster. Add Newton and Cupps and hopefully a couple of transfers

With the right additions, we may be a year away from seeing CMW's vision of IU basketball. I really like what Gunn and Banks can be. I'm not as pessimistic about next year as some.

yeah.  my son is a walk on and while he is getting a solid academic scholarship, he is stressing about money and having debt coming out of college.  he wants to get a job, but really has no time.  it's a choice he made and he is getting some really cool experiences, so it is what it is, but it's hard to hear players complaining about having to practice too much when they get their college free.  they also stay in really nice hotels, eat really good food, and many are making money now as well.

Your son will no doubt benefit from going through this experience. Probably much more than those who have everything given to them. I know you are a proud Dad.

Oh give me a break.  Winning makes things a lot more fun.  Here's 2 freebies then war starts.  War isn't fun either.

Since guys are making money now, maybe they should consider basketball more as a job instead of just fun. To beat the teams we want to beat I guarantee that the preparation required won't be fun. I'm guessing that CMW is employing the "you think you are playing hard, but you're not" mantra that CBK always used.

Tommy Lloyd is a grade 1 dbag. He's getting 80% of the calls all night long and every timeout, every possession he's chirping at the refs. Combination of Bo Ryan/Bruce Weber and maybe Fran.......

I thought the same thing. An absolutely unlikable guy. In fact, the entire team whined and flopped all night. Definitely have the personality of the coach. Win and lose with class, that's all I ask.

  9. I respect honoring commitments. And that should be a two way street. I don't know what the deal is with LD, but Woodson said earlier that he thought he should put in more work. If he doesn't, I could see him being somewhere else next season. I also feel like Jordan is playing for his spot on the roster. We need more from him to be a great team. I like everyone we have and want them all to succeed, but we will only move up in college basketball by continually adding better players. It's a develop and get better or be replaced world now.

  10. This was a reality check. Now forget the press clipping and get back to work. It's going to be a long season and this won't be the last loss. The intensity wasn't there all game. I didn't see the fire from TJD that I expected either. For all the grief he gets, I thought that Kopp was the only one really locked in. I don't know what is wrong with Thompson, he just looks off. I wonder if he is dealing with some injury. He's better than what we have seen. Regardless, on to the next one.

How so, it has been like this for the history of IU football. In Indiana basketball has always been more popular and people care about IU basketball more. Saying that what did IU sell their souls for IU basketball. Especially the last 20+ years they have out plenty of money into the football program. Might have been a bad decision but we do pay our football coach over 5 mil a year which is like top 25 in the country.

Like I have said over and over, I see no reason why we can't be on the same level of the other mid pack teams in the conference. Something is systematically wrong at IU. Maybe we just don't have the will and are content to wait for basketball season each year.

So.. the only thing these two teams have in common are... the fact they're both basketball teams at Indiana University? Because that doesn't describe our current team, at all.

I'm not sure you understood what I was saying. I have no problem using this bench if it gives us an advantage. Against really good teams it may not. I'm just saying that there are different ways to win. To me, It usually comes down to having your best players on the court as much as possible. Coach Knight, love him or hate him, used the bench when someone wasn't doing what he wanted or when someone was in foul trouble most of the time. I like our bench this year a lot. If they continue to develop and can produce against better teams, by all means use them.
