I can't decide yet. There's a couple cookouts/race parties we have invites for but not sure if headed that way. Definitely watching pre-race and first 20 laps or so at home. After that either head to those cookouts or just watch here, throw some food on the grill, and tip a few cold ones.

I’ll be in the same boat. Watching the prerace now. After about 20 laps I’ll head out to the yard with the radio. I keep the tv going so I can check in throughout the race.

  2. What’s everyone doing for the race?

I don’t go regularly so not much change for me. I get the grill going early (ish) and watch the prerace and start. Then I keep the race on and bounce between watching the race, the grill, and whatever else needs done in the yard.

No pics because I had a hectic day and was in a fog by dinnertime, but I bought a "weber wok" last week and broke it in yesterday on the weber kettle grill with a stir fry and lo mein noodles. I'll try to get a pic next time. I did use lots of zucchini from the garden...which was nice.

Is that the wok that fits in the removable center part of the grate?

Wafflehead Fred has lost his job during this pandemic.  And is concentrating on building his BBQ sauce into a part or full time business.  If would like, I can give you his phone number, so that if you would like, you could order some from him.

Does he have any distribution channels?

I’m from the Ft Wayne area and would love to try a new local bbq sauce.

I'll try to get some pics up soon. Overall it went well..ribs turned out good. I made mac and cheese as well and it was decent...not as good as I hoped. My wife made potato salad and it was yummy. How did yours turn out?

I was pretty happy with mine. The pork shoulder has been great for lunch tacos!

So I went to the local meat market yesterday and picked up some more slabs of baby back ribs I'm planning on cooking Sunday. Also got a T-bone steak I threw in freezer for fathers day weekend. Planning on trying the "snake method" for the ribs that @BeerBQ referenced above. I'll report results after.

    How is the cook going?

  7. The Weber kettle can be used as a smoker. I set up unlit charcoal on one side with a barrier. You can get fire bricks or a charcoal basket to keep it together. Then add some lit charcoal on top. Leave the top vent open and control temp with the bottom. The food goes on the cool side and may need turned. You’re limited on space but it does a good job. You can also look up the snake method.

    I added a picture with 2 pork butts on a 22.5” kettle. D97219D1-FA26-4E74-8746-55F576DBE08D.thumb.jpeg.e94ce7c66cea8a7a55070447f07bac92.jpeg
